Unshirley turns and sees Monica.
She shouts, OH, HI!
HELLO.
Monica says, HI, THANKS FOR MAKING IT TO THE TREE
FORT.
Unshirley whispers, IT'S ON NOW?
Monica says, YEAH, IT’S ON NOW.
Unshirley says, OKAY.
WELCOME TO MY KITCHEN.
I’M UNSHIRLEY AND THIS IS MY
CAT.
AND UM, I THINK WE, WE MAKE THINGS?
Unshirley looks at Monica.
Monica says, YEAH, WE’RE MAKING
STUFF.
YOU BROUGHT A BUNCH OF STUFF FOR US.
Unshirley says, WE’RE MAKING THINGS
IN MY KITCHEN.
THAT'S RIGHT.
TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY OF
SCHOOL FOR SOME PEOPLE SO WE’RE
MAKING A FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
LUNCH SNACK.
ISN'T THAT RIGHT, CAT?
SHE SAYS YES.
OKAY.
WE’RE GONNA GET STARTED.
ARE YOU READY?
Monica says, I’M READY.
Unshirley says, OKAY, WELL, OKAY, FIRST THINGS FIRST.
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF WITCHES?
Monica says, YES?
Unshirley says, YEAH.
THEY DO MAGIC, RIGHT?
Monica says, YES.
Unshirley asks, WHAT ABOUT BEACHES?
Monica says, BEACHES?
YES.
Unshirley says, WITH LOTS OF SAND.
Monica says, YES.
Unshirley says, WELL, WE’RE GONNA MAKE SANDWICHES.
Unshirley and Monica laugh.
Monica says, OKAY, I SEE WHERE YOU
WENT WITH THAT.
Unshirley says, OKAY BUT WE’RE GONNA DO
SPECIAL SANDWICHES, NOT JUST
ANY SANDWICHES,
SANDWICHES ON A STICK.
Unshirley holds up a small pieces of sandwich ingredients on a stick. Monica looks amazed.
Unshirley says, CHECK IT OUT!
IT'S MAGIC.
Monica says, WOAH.
Unshirley says, SO, UM, I THINK THE WAY THIS WORKS IS
FIRST THINGS FIRST YOU’LL NEED
A STICK.
Monica says, OKAY, I’LL TAKE THIS
STICK.
Unshirley says, BUT NOT JUST ANY STICK FROM
OUTSIDE.
ONE YOU FIND IN A KITCHEN.
I THINK IT'S CALLED A SKEWER.
Monica says, YES, IT IS A SKEWER.
Unshirley says, THAT’S RIGHT!
SO, FIRST THINGS FIRST,
WHAT, WHAT GOES ON A SANDWICH?
BREAD, I THINK?
Monica says, YEAH!
WE GOT BREAD RIGHT
HERE.
Unshirley whispers, DOES BREAD GO ON A SANDWICH?
Monica says, YEAH, WE GOT BREAD.
Unshirley says, OKAY SO FIRST THINGS FIRST,
YOU TAKE YOUR BREAD AND YOU
PUT THAT ON.
Unshirley slides a piece of bread down a skewer. Monica does the same.
She says, AND THEN YOU’RE JUST GONNA
ADD OTHER THINGS ON THE SANDWICH
LIKE…
Monica says, OH!
Unshirley says, …SOME LETTUCE AND BE REALLY
CAREFUL PUTTING IT ON CAUSE
THE TOP OF THE STICK IS A LITTLE
POINTY.
Unshirley adds lettuce. She reaches for a slice of meat.
Unshirley says, AND THEN I’M ALSO GONNA PUT SOME,
SOME MEAT ON IT LIKE THAT AND WELL WE NEED
SOME COLOUR, RIGHT.
Monica says, YEAH!
Unshirley says, SO A RED TOMATO IS GOING ON AND
A PEPPER.
AND THEN YOU CAN FINISH IT OFF
WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF BREAD.
AND CHECK IT OUT.
WE MADE A SANDWICH ON A STICK.
IT'S WILD.
Monica says, THAT’S AWESOME!
Unshirley says, IT’S ABSOLUTLEY WILD!
Monica says, I CANNOT WAIT TO
EAT THIS.
BUT FIRST, LET'S CHECK OUT SOME
JOKES.
Unshirley says, OKAY.
A male narrator says, RANDOM KID JOKES.
A female narrator says, YOU SEND ‘EM, WE SAY ‘EM.
Four colourful doors are on top of four more colourful doors. Two doors are red, two are green, two are blue and two are yellow. An inspector with a moustache opens a green door.
The inspector says, KNOCK, KNOCK.
A gold mermaid opens the other green door.
She asks, WHO’S THERE?
The inspector says, SHERLOCK.
The mermaid asks, SHERLOCK WHO?
A wizard in purple robes opens a yellow door.
He says, SHERLOCK YOUR DOOR WHEN THIS
GUY IS KNOCKING.
The inspector makes a grumpy face.
(Laughter)
Everyone closes their doors. A penguin steps out of the second yellow door.
He says, HEY, CORN.
The penguin looks up. The wizard opens his yellow door.
The wizard says, HUH?
A cob of corn opens a blue door.
The penguin asks, WHAT TWO THINGS CAN YOU NEVER
HAVE FOR BREAKFAST?
The wizard closes his door.
The corn says, I DON'T KNOW.
WHAT CAN'T I EVER HAVE FOR BREAKFAST?
The penguin says, LUNCH AND DINNER.
(Laughter)
The penguin and corn close their doors. A woman in a dress steps out of a red door.
She asks, WHAT DID SUMMER SAY TO
SPRING?
A polar bear opens the other red door.
He says, I HAVE NO IDEA.
WHAT DID SUMMER SAY TO SPRING?
The woman says, HELP!
I’M GOING TO FALL.
(Laughter)
The polar bear laughs dramatically. He and the woman then close their doors. Text reads, The Ontario Educational Communications Authority 2018. Back in the tree fort, Monica and Unshirley hold sandwiches on a stick.
Unshirley says, CHECK IT OUT WE ARE BACK WITH
OUR COOL, MAGIC SANDWICHES THAT

Monica takes a bite of her sandwich.
She says, THESE ARE SO YUMMY.
She takes another bite.
Unshirley says, I KNOW, THEY’RE REALLY GOOD, RIGHT?
Monica says, MM-HMM.
Unshirley says, MY CAT LOVES IT, TOO.
SOMETIMES I MAKE CAT FOOD ON
STICKS FOR MY CAT.
Unshirley and Monica giggle.
Monica says, THAT'S AWESOME.

Unshirley says, WELL I’M SURE THE OPTIONS ARE
ENDLESS.
I’LL HAVE TO KEEP EXPERIMENTING IN
UNSHIRLEY'S KITCHEN, I GUESS.
Monica says, I LOVE UNSHIRLEY'S
KITCHEN.
Unshirley says, OH, HEY, GUESS WHAT?
Monica asks, WHAT?
Unshirley says, THOSE KIDS THAT WERE IN THE
SKY?
Monica says, MM-HMM?
Unshirley says, THAT WAS SO COOL!

Monica says, OH, YEAH.

HOW’D YOU CALL IN?
Unshirley says, I WAS IN THE SKY?
Monica says, YEAH!
Unshirley asks, REALLY?
Unshirley’s chef’s hat falls off.
She says, I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER THAT.
THAT IS SO COOL.
Monica says, SEE YA TVO KIDS.
Unshirley says, BYE.
(Upbeat music plays)
