[Buzzing, crackling, wind blows]

I THINK YOU KNOW WHICH WAY THE
WIND IS BLOWING ON THIS ONE.

HERE'S THE TOP ON WIND ENERGY.

A cloudy blue five appears.

[Ding, upbeat music plays]

The announcer says, NUMBER FIVE:
WIND POWER ISN'T NEW.

WIND ENERGY IS THOUGHT TO
HAVE FIRST BEEN USED IN PERSIA
FIFTEEN HUNDRED YEARS AGO.

WITH THE ACTION OF THE WIND,
A DEVICE WOULD ROTATE AND
MAKE MECHANICAL PARTS MOVE
TO EITHER PUMP WATER,
OR GRIND CEREALS.

[Creaking gears]

The announcer continues,

[Cheering]

[Ding]

GROUPED IN WIND FARMS THAT
ARE LOCATED IN WINDY AREAS.

THESE FARMS CAN HOLD HUNDREDS
OF WIND TURBINES, AND YOU CAN
FIND THEM ON LAND OR ON THE
OPEN SEA.

[Water splashes]

A green, orange and blue number three appears.

[Ding]

WIND ENERGY IS CLEAN.

[Whooshing, plopping, buzz]

The announcer continues,
WHEN WIND TURBINES ARE IN
OPERATION, THEY DO NOT
GENERATE POLLUTANTS,
OR CARBON DIOXIDE.

I DON'T MEAN TO TAKE THE
WIND OUT OF YOUR SAILS, BUT
PRODUCING ELECTRICITY IS NEVER
ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CLEAN.

AND MAINTENANCE PRODUCE
GREENHOUSE GASES.

IF WE WANT TO PROTECT OUR
PLANET, WE MUST USE THE

AND WE MUST KEEP TABS ON OUR
ENERGY CONSUMPTION.
