A scuba diver swims around a coral reef among a horde of fish.
A narrator says, AH, SCUBA DIVING.
GREAT, ISN'T IT?
BUT NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS,
AS WE'LL FIND OUT WHEN
WE DIVE INTO
THE TOP ON SCUBA DIVING.
A title reads, Top on Scuba Diving.
A second narrator says, NUMBER THREE:
EVERYONE BACK TO SCHOOL.
[Dinging]
A silver number 3 appears.
The second narrator continues, CLASSES ARE MANDATORY.
EIGHT YEAR OLDS,
YOU'RE ALLOWED TO DIVE
IN A PROTECTED ENVIRONMENT.
TEN YEAR OLDS,
YOU CAN DIVE IN THE SEA.

The second narrator says, INTRODUCTORY CLASSES ARE HELD IN
A SWIMMING POOL WITH
AN INSTRUCTOR.
People scuba dive in swimming pools.
The first narrator says, YOU'LL LEARN
BREATHING TECHNIQUES,
HOW TO USE AND LOOK AFTER
YOUR EQUIPMENT,
AND ALSO SIGNALS TO
COMMUNICATE UNDER WATER.

The first narrator says, NUMBER TWO:
KEEP CALM AND SCUBA ON.
[Dinging]
A silver number 2 appears.
The first narrator says, WHEN SCUBA DIVING, YOU SHOULD
ALWAYS KEEP CALM,
AND NEVER COME UP TO THE
SURFACE TOO QUICKLY.
An animation shows a scuba diver rising through water.
The second narrator says, WHEN YOU BLOW UP A BALLOON
AND PUT IT IN THE WATER,
THE WATER PRESSURE WILL
SQUISH ITS VOLUME.
THE DEEPER YOU GO IN THE WATER,
THE MORE IT'LL SHRINK.

[Balloon deflating]
The second narrator explains, VICE VERSA IF YOU INFLATE A
BALLOON UNDERWATER
AND LET IT RISE TO THE SURFACE,
IT GETS BIGGER 'TIL IT POPS.
In the animation, the balloon rises, then pops.

The first narrator says, IN THE WATER,
OUR LUNGS ACT LIKE BALLOONS.
IF YOU INFLATE YOUR LUNGS
DEEP IN THE WATER AND RISE UP
TO THE SURFACE TOO QUICKLY WHILE
HOLDING YOUR BREATH,
YOU CAN CAUSE SOME
SERIOUS DAMAGE.

AND REMEMBER TO GO UP SLOWLY,
