DESCRIPTION: Two blue birds fly across the sky over a quaint, pastel town. Apartment complexes and shops line the streets.
CHILD: Whee!
[Laughing]
SINGERS: Who's that knocking at my door?
DESCRIPTION: Inside an apartment, Luc, aged four, with brown, curly hair, is wearing a purple shirt and red pants, and Amala, aged six, with brown hair, is wearing blue overalls and a green shirt, knock on the front door.
SINGERS: I'll race you to the bottom floor
DESCRIPTION: Lili, aged seven, with black hair and wearing purple glasses, a red shirt, and green pants, and Sam, aged seven, with black hair and wearing a green shirt and blue pants, open the door.
DESCRIPTION: Lili, Amala, Luc, and Sam run down the apartment staircase, joined by three new friends. One of them is Lili’s little sister, who has black hair that she wears in two ponytails and wears an orange dress. Another is Sam’s older sister, Sara. Sara has black hair; she wears it in a ponytail and is dressed in a purple shirt and purple pants.

DESCRIPTION: The friends play outside. They play hide and seek, jump rope, and skateboard.
SINGERS: Or search beneath the stairs For hidden treasure there
DESCRIPTION: Holding a flashlight, the friends tiptoe into a dark basement and look into a storage room.
SINGERS: 16 Hudson That's where my friends are waiting 16 Hudson Won't you come along?
DESCRIPTION: The friends run through Chinese New Year celebrations, and everyone waves from their apartment balconies.
SINGERS: 16 Hudson Where everybody's welcome 16 Hudson That's where I belong
DESCRIPTION: The friends play on the swingset and run through a bakery. In a park, everyone blows bubbles from a bubble wand. In the sky, all the bubbles turn into a colourful rainbow.

DESCRIPTION: Inside the apartment, Amala, Luc, Lili, and Sam walk into a living room. Amala is holding a shovel.
AMALA: Oh, I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait to meet the new super.
LUC: I hope she takes good care of 16 Hudson just like Ivan did.
AMALA: All I care about is that we make a good first impression.
LUC: First im-- What?
LILI: "First impression." What someone thinks of you when you meet them for the first time.
LUC: Oh, your first impression of me must've been that I'm the fastest ever!
DESCRIPTION: Luc runs around the room, but trips over the carpet. Sam helps him up.
[Laughing]
[Grunting]
SAM: And a little clumsy.
[Laughing]
AMALA: For a good first impression, we need to…
DESCRIPTION: The friends stand outside in front of the garden.
AMALA: ..clean up this messy garden.
LILI: We'll help you.
AMALA: Great! 'Cause I got big plans. I'm talking gnomes, flowers, signs.
[Others groaning]
DESCRIPTION: Amala squints and holds up her fingers, framing the garden.
[Gasping]
AMALA: Maybe a fountain. Or a hedge maze.
SAM: Why not both?
AMALA: Yeah, less talking. More gardening.
DESCRIPTION: In a montage, the friends plant flowers, move around pots, and pick weeds.
[Laughing]
[Panting]
DESCRIPTION: Amala drops a heavy pot and lies on the ground.
[Thudding]
[Groaning]
DESCRIPTION: Sam and Luc dig a line in the dirt and plant a row of plants. Lil puts a sign at the end of the row.
LUC: A-ha, ha.
[Grunting]
LILI: Ta-da.
[Laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Luc chases away a swarm of bugs. The montage ends.
[Grunting]
[Flies buzzing]
DESCRIPTION: The four friends stand in the garden, looking at their work. Sam is holding a garden gnome.
AMALA: The garden looks Amala-mazing. Thank you so much, everyone. Although, I wish we could have fit in a koi pond and filled it with fish.
LILI: Fish or no fish, it'll be a wonderful welcome for the new super. Right, Gnomey?
DESCRIPTION: Sam holds up the garden gnome.
SAM: "Right."
[Kids laughing]
AMALA: I just need to do one last thing. Just a little bit of water.
DESCRIPTION: As Luc, Lili, and Sam walk away. Amala picks up the hose and waters the garden.
AMALA: Oh, the new super's gonna be so impressed. Oh!
DESCRIPTION: Some water begins to leak out of the garden beds.
AMALA: Don't wanna over-water. Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Amala spots an unplanted flower. She runs over and plants it in the garden.
AMALA: Just one more flower.
DESCRIPTION: Amala runs inside the apartment complex. The hose is still running.
[Humming]
DESCRIPTION: The sun sets and rises. The next morning, Amala runs out to the garden.
AMALA: I can't wait to show the super our beautiful Amala-mazing–
DESCRIPTION: The garden is gray, and all of the flowers are dead. All of the dirt has turned to mud, and the plants have drowned.
[Gasping]
AMALA: --garden. It's totally ruined.
[Gasping]
AMALA: And so is my good first impression. Who could have done this?
DESCRIPTION: Luc, Lili, and Sam run into the garden.
LUC: Amala! Amala!
[Panting]
LUC: Early this morning, I went for a walk with my dads when I heard something and then saw something.
DESCRIPTION: In a memory, Luc is walking with his dads, Paul and Bayani. Paul has blond hair and is wearing a blue shirt and white pants, and Bayani has brown and silver hair and is wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans.
LUC: The new super was digging up the garden with a big shovel!
DESCRIPTION: Luc looks to the garden to see the new super with a shovel. The new super has brown, braided hair with beads and is wearing a dark green jumpsuit.
AMALA: But why? Is she a garden grump? A leaf disliker? A plant poo-poo-er?
SAM: Maybe she's a dirt-loving mole person and wants to turn our garden into her mud kingdom.
LILI: Or maybe she's getting dirt ready for a worldwide worm party.
LUC: Or maybe Bloopians made her do it.
AMALA: Hm. I have questions about this super. That means we should...
ALL: ..ask the super!
DESCRIPTION: The four friends run into Amala’s apartment. Her dad, Frank, is there. Frank has red hair and is wearing a purple sweater and blue pants.
AMALA: Dad, can we call Ivan? We have an important question for him.
FRANK: Sure, but don't keep him too long. Remember. He's retired. He's not working as the super any more.
DESCRIPTION: Amala dials a number into the phone. It connects to Ivan, who has gray hair and a mustache and is wearing a red floral shirt. He is lying on a beach chair on a cruise ship.
[Beeping]
AMALA: Hello.
IVAN: Hello?
AMALA: Ivan, it's Amala. We need your help. The new super just dug up our garden and we don't know why.
IVAN: She did? Hm?
DESCRIPTION: Ivan takes a drink from a glass cup with a drink umbrella. Amala frowns.
[Slurping]
[Sighing happily]
IVAN: Well, my salsa class is starting now and I can't leave my dance partner waiting. Leave it with me and I'll find out.
DESCRIPTION: The phone call ends.
[Beeping]
[Amala gasping]
AMALA: I just thought of something. If this new super ruined our garden, who knows what's next?
SAM: Yeah!
SAM: Are the swing sets safe?
LUC: Or the community dog bowl?
LILI: Or the murals we painted?
AMALA: We have to protect 16 Hudson before everything changes for the worst!
DESCRIPTION: Sam stacks pillows around the swing set.
[Grunting]
DESCRIPTION: Luc puts a box over the dog bowl.
[Grunting]
DESCRIPTION: Lili hangs a sheet of brown paper over the mural.
[Grunting]
DESCRIPTION: Sam’s parents walk past Amala and Lili.
SAM’S MOTHER: Huh?
AMALA: Beware of the super. Nothing is safe.
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, Amala, Sam, Lili, and Luc sit on Amala’s couch.
[Sighing]
AMALA: We did it. Now, 16 Hudson is safe from the super.
DESCRIPTION: Frank walks in holding the phone. He hands it to Amala.
FRANK: Oh, there you are. Ivan called back.
AMALA: Ivan, did you find an answer?
DESCRIPTION: Ivan is playing deck billiards.
IVAN: Score!
[Laughing]
IVAN: Yeah, yeah, I found out the new super got up way early and saw the whole garden was flooded. Somebody left the garden hose on.
AMALA: Someone left the garden hose on?
DESCRIPTION: In a flashback, Amala remembers that she left the garden hose on last night.
[Gasping]
[Water trickling]
[Water trickling]
AMALA: It was me.
IVAN: And while she was dealing with that, she found out the water pipes were about to break, so she dug up the garden to fix the pipes too.
DESCRIPTION: Ivan takes another sip of his drink.
[Sipping and sighing happily]
IVAN: The whole building could have been without water for weeks. That new super is a hero.
DESCRIPTION: Amala furrows her brow.
AMALA: Um, okay. Thanks, Ivan. Bye.
DESCRIPTION: Amala hangs up the phone.
AMALA: What have I done? I assumed the super was ruining things!
LILI: But she was actually fixing them.
AMALA: Even my mistake. Huh? We need to undo everything we just did.
DESCRIPTION: In a montage, Sam unpacks all the pillows around the swingset. Luc takes the box of the dog’s bowl, and Lili rips down the paper. The montage ends.
[Kids grunting]
DESCRIPTION: Sam’s parents walk back past Amala.
AMALA: Hello. Uh, I was wrong. The new super is really super. She fixed all the water pipes.
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, the four friends are back in the garden. Half of the garden is dug up with exposed pipes, and the other has neat and colourful rows of flowers and plants. Luc picks up the hose and offers it to Amala.
AMALA: No.
DESCRIPTION: Luc offers a watering can. Amala takes it.
AMALA: I just hope the super likes our new garden.
LILI: Sorry, Amala. No way she's going to like it. She's gonna love it!
[All laughing]
DESCRIPTION: From the top balcony, the new super and her child look down at the garden.
SUPER: Wow! Look how hard those kids are workin' down there. They must really care about 16 Hudson, huh? You know what, JJ? First impression, I think we're gonna like it here.
