[Child giggles]

CHILD: Whee!

[Opening credits] T.V.O. Kids plus Big Bad Boo Studios Original.

[Cheerful music plays]

DESCRIPTION: A red car drives past apartment buildings. Inside 16 Hudson, Luc knocks on a door, and Sam and Lili open it. Amala waits in the hall beside Luc. In a playground, Sara climbs a pole with a clock on the top as Luc runs past carrying a skateboard. Lili and Sam play hide and seek. Lili runs beside her fluffy white Persian cat, who is Kensington, and Ivan waves as she passes. Families stand on their balconies and wave. The residents of 16 Hudson blow bubbles in a field.

[Song] Who's that knocking at my door? I'll race you to the bottom floor. Who's that playing hide and seek? Count to ten and don't you peek. Let's head outside and play. Create a brand-new game or search beneath the stairs for hidden treasure there. 16 Hudson. That's where my friends are waiting. 16 Hudson, won't you come along? 16 Hudson, where everybody's welcome. 16 Hudson, that's where I belong.

DESCRIPTION: A rainbow arcs over 16 Hudson.

EDDIE’S MOM: Hmm. Hmm?

EDDIE: Hmm, ah.

EDDIE: You finished hiding all your eggs?

EDDIE’S MOM: Yup! You?

EDDIE: Uh-huh. Remember, Lucy, shh. We were never here.

[Lucy grunts, door opens, closes, the music stops]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie and his mom enter the building and return to their apartment.

EDDIE: Thanks for letting me help, Mom.

EDDIE’S MOM: I think you love helping the Easter Bunny hide eggs as much as I do.

EDDIE: If only I could be an official Easter Bunny's helper like you.

EDDIE’S MOM: Actually, maybe you're ready.

[Bright music plays, zipper zips]

DESCRIPTION: In his bedroom, Eddie puts on the pale pink bunny costume. His mom holds a basket and a partial face mask with a bunny nose and two teeth.

EDDIE: I can't believe you're letting me wear this. Your official Easter Bunny helper costume! How do I look?

EDDIE’S MOM: Fuzzy and oh so wuzzy. Can you wiggle the cotton tail?

[Eddie chuckles, Eddie’s mom giggles]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie waggles his bottom, and the fluffy white tail on the costume shakes.

EDDIE’S MOM: How's your bunny hop?

[Hops boing]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie hops around the room.

EDDIE: Hop, hop, hop, hop, hop, hop, hop, hop.

EDDIE’S MOM: Show me some picture poses!

[Slide whistles, Eddie grunts, laughs]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie puts on the bunny nose. He leans to one side and then crouches on all fours on a dirty sock on the floor.

EDDIE’S MOM: Okay, okay, you're definitely ready for the job. You can be the bunny at the egg hunt tomorrow.

EDDIE: Seriously, Mom? The Easter Bunny won't mind it's not you?

EDDIE’S MOM: Nope, once you're a helper, the Easter Bunny trusts you to choose the next one, and I choose you.

[Basket rustles]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie’s mom gives him the basket.

EDDIE: Thank you, Mom. I'm gonna make the Easter Bunny so proud!

DESCRIPTION: Outside, Amala, Eddie, and Lola stand by a table. On the table are eggs in cartons, eggs in jars of dyed water, and a plate of colourful dyed eggs.

EDDIE: Come on, egg!

[Lola grunts, water splashing, upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Lola stirs the water around an egg and dyes the egg pink.

LOLA: It works better if you stir it like this.

AMALA: Ooh, look, cool!

[Water splashing]

DESCRIPTION: Amala and Eddie stir the water in their jars. Later, Eddie brings more eggs to the table. A cage hangs from the base of a treehouse, with Pellie, a blue parrot, inside.

EDDIE: Here you go, more eggs to dye for the Easter Bunny. Nice job, you two. He's gonna be thrilled.

[Mysterious music, plays, paint squelches]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie paints an egg and stops.

EDDIE: Where's Luc? He's missing the fun.

[Pellie squawks, birds chirp]

PELLIE: Where's Luc? Where's Luc?

LOLA: I'll find him! Maybe I'll even find some eggs too.

[Footsteps rustle, upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Lola jumps down from a bench beside the table and runs past Eddie.

EDDIE: Wait, eggs? You can't look before the egg hunt tomorrow. No, not there!

DESCRIPTION: Lola looks under a bench.

LOLA: Hmm, you're right. Luc's not here! No egg either.

[Footsteps rustle]

DESCRIPTION: Lola runs away from the bench, and Eddie looks at the grass beneath it.

EDDIE: Huh, I know I put an egg in here.

[Whoosh, slide whistle]

DESCRIPTION: Lola looks at a flower bed and a lamppost.

LOLA: No Luc, no egg. No Luc, no egg.

EDDIE: No eggs anywhere. If there's no eggs, then there's no egg hunt, and I'm out of a job.

[Pellie squawks]

PELLIE: No eggs, where's Luc? In his fort.

[Pellie squawks, whistles]

EDDIE: Oh, thanks, Pellie. First, I'll find Luc, then I'll find the eggs.

[Knock, door opens]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie knocks on a door and then opens the door to Luc’s bedroom. Luc hides in a fort in his room.

EDDIE: Luc, it's me, can I come in?

[Luc whimpering]

EDDIE: Luc? Don't you want to come out and dye Easter eggs with us for the big egg hunt tomorrow? Except there might not be an egg hunt tomorrow.

LUC: I know! Good!

EDDIE: You know? You know what happened to the hidden Easter eggs?

LUC: No.

[Sombre music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Luc looks down.

LUC: Yes.

[Rustle, Luc sighs]

DESCRIPTION: Luc takes a box full of decorated eggs out of his fort.

EDDIE: You took the Easter eggs? Why?

LUC: So, the Easter Bunny won't come.

EDDIE: Why don't you want the Easter Bunny to come?

LUC: Because he's scary. I saw him last year! Just look at him.

[Whoosh, frame bangs, tense music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Luc shows Eddie a framed photograph featuring the smiling Easter bunny waving as Luc cries. He throws the photograph back into his fort.

LUC: He's probably listening to me right now with those giant ears! Plus, he eats carrots. I don't like carrots! Plus, I even had a bad dream about him.

[Soft music plays]

EDDIE: Oh, and you think if there's no egg hunt, the Easter Bunny won't come?

LUC: No Easter, no scary Easter Bunny.

[Upbeat music plays]

EDDIE: Hmm. Luc, I'm gonna tell you a big secret. Come on.

DESCRIPTION: In his bedroom, Eddie wears the bunny costume.

EDDIE: Okay, you can come in now.

DESCRIPTION: Luc enters the bedroom.

LUC: What's the big secret?

[Arms whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Luc waves his arms.

LUC SHOUTS: The Easter Bunny ate Eddie!

EDDIE: No, Luc, I'm just wearing a costume.

[Costume rustles]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie pulls the costume hood down off his head.

EDDIE: The secret is, I'm the Easter Bunny's helper.

[Luc whimpering]

LUC: Really?

[Hood rustles]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie pulls the hood back up, and Luc walks closer.

EDDIE: Yup, the Easter Bunny can't be at every egg hunt at the same time, so he has helpers, like me. So see, you don't have to be scared now.

[Mask rustles]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie holds the mask in front of his nose, and Luc shakes his head.

LUC: Hmm. Nope, still too scary. I'll just stay in my room.

[Footsteps patter, mask rustles, sombre music]

DESCRIPTION: Luc runs out of the room, and Eddie drops the mask on the floor. His mom arrives.

EDDIE’S MOM: Everything okay?

EDDIE: Luc is scared of the Easter Bunny.

EDDIE’S MOM: Yeah, I got that from the scream.

[Hood rustles]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie’s mom picks up the mask and sits beside Eddie on the edge of the bed. Eddie pulls down the hood.

EDDIE: And I don't know what to do. All the kids are excited for the egg hunt, and I can't let them down. What would the Easter Bunny think?

[Sighs]

EDDIE: Ah, but I can't just leave Luc out.

EDDIE’S MOM: To be fair, the mask does look a little scary. I never noticed because I was always wearing it.

[Eddie giggles, light music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Eddie takes the mask and looks at it.

EDDIE: Yeah, you can't see the mask if you're inside it. Hmm? Whoa.

[Upbeat music plays, children laugh, giggle]

DESCRIPTION: The next day, the children carry baskets and search for eggs in front of the building

J.J.: Mm-hm.

SAM: Hm.

Lili: Hm.

[Whoosh, giggles, Lola pants]

DESCRIPTION: Amala stands beside her basket and juggles three eggs. Lola runs on the treehouse platform and picks up an egg beside a pole.

LOLA: Ah! Got one! Ooh, got another one.

[Lola gasps, laughs]

LOLA: Look, everybody, the Easter Bunny!

[Pole squeaks, laugh]

DESCRIPTION: Lola slides down the pole as Luc arrives, wearing a pink bunny costume.

EDDIE: Yeah! Hey, Mr. Bunny.

[Luc laughs, hops boing, soft music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Luc hops past Lola and sits on a chair.

EDDIE WHISPERS: Nice work, Luc.

LUC: I still can't believe I'm the Easter Bunny's helper! And it's not scary at all in here.

EDDIE: Who wants a picture?

[Children laugh, camera shutter snaps]

DESCRIPTION: Lola hops onto the chair beside Luc, and the other children run towards them.

SAM: Me, me, me, me, me, me.

[Camera shutter snaps, soft music plays]

DESCRIPTION: A man with short black hair takes a photograph of Lola with Luc.

EDDIE’S MOM: I see what you did there. You gave a job you really wanted to help your friend.

EDDIE: You said the Easter Bunny's helper could choose the next helper, so I chose Luc.

EDDIE’S MOM: That was so kind, Eddie. I'm proud of you, and I'm sure the Easter Bunny is too.

[Camera shutter snaps, boings, children cheer, chatter, upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Luc hops away from the chair, and the children follow him.

A CHILD: Look at what he's left!

[Pellie squawks]

PELLIE: Happy Easter. Happy Easter.

[Whistles]
