[Doorbell ringing]

[Energetic music plays]

[Whistling]

In the Makeaway Takeaway restaurant, various craft supplies fill fridges, cover countertops, and adorn menus, including bottles of paint, scissors, sponges, ribbon, and a box of paintbrushes and pens. Host Bec Hill talks on her banana phone. Bec wears her long, curly pink hair in an updo. In her Makeaway Takeaway uniform, she wears a yellow polo shirt with a light blue collar and a dark blue skirt, paired with suspenders over light blue shorts. Bec paints a self-portrait with bubble wrap. Plates, cups, paint bottles, sunglasses, balled-up paper, and straws move along a conveyor belt. Bec pulls a bucket off her head. Three children paint. Bec paints a drawing of an orange, a pear and a banana. Bec announces the title.

Bec says, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!

[Doorbell ringing]

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec sits at the Mega Mini Make table, wearing a big straw hat and sunglasses, and sips a fruit drink through a twisty straw. An orange, yellow and pink beach ball lies on the table.

[Slurping]

Bec sighs, AH.

Bec sets down her drink.

Bec says, OH, HI. I'M BEC, AND THIS IS MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY! DON'T MIND ME. I'M JUST CATCHING SOME RAYS. WHILE I SOAK UP THE SUN, HERE'S TODAY'S MENU.

Bec picks up her drink.

[Upbeat music plays]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Upbeat music plays]

Bec narrates, COMING UP ON TODAY'S SHOW, A TECHNIQUE THAT WILL LIFT ANYONE'S SPIRITS.

Bec draws by scraping away black paint with the corner of a ruler, revealing rainbow colours under the paint.

Bec narrates, I GET A CALL FROM A CUSTOMER WHO NEEDS TO ROCK OUT.

A boy with short blond hair wears a gold sequin blazer over a light blue T-shirt. In a craft room, he plays a crafted guitar.

Bec narrates, AND WE DELIVER A SUPER SNIFFY SURPRISE FOR AN AWESOME HORSE-RIDING INSTRUCTOR.

A girl cleans a horse’s stall. In blue coveralls, Bec shapes a horse leg out of dirt, hay and manure.

[Paint splattering]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whistling]

At Makeaway Takeaway, on a beach towel, Bec lies on the floor on her elbows with her drink, sunglasses and beach ball.

Bec says, THE TAKEAWAY'S SO BUSY, I NEVER GET TO GO ON HOLIDAY. SO, I THOUGHT I'D BRING THE HOLIDAY HERE.

[Light, cheerful music plays]

[Bec sighing in relaxation]

Bec says, SO RELAXING.

[Seagulls squawking]

Bec looks around.

Bec says, I CAN SEE THE CLOUDS. AND THE BIRDS. AND THE HOT AIR BALLOON.

Bec sits up straight and grabs her hat.

Bec says, THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA FOR…

[Exciting music plays]

Bec cheers, …A TAKEAWAY TECHNIQUE!

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

Bec takes a seat at the Makeaway Takeaway lunch table with a piece of white paper, a ruler, different coloured crayons, a wide paintbrush and a dish of black paint.

[Tropical music plays]

Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A PICTURE USING WAX CRAYONS AND BLACK PAINT. START BY COVERING A PIECE OF PAPER ENTIRELY IN CRAYON. YOU'LL SEE WHY LATER. YOU WANT IT TO BE RAINBOW COLOURS. SO, I'LL START WITH A CHUNK OF YELLOW DOWN HERE. ORANGE. USE ANY COLOURS YOUR LIKE. JUST KEEP DOING THAT UNTIL YOU COMPLETELY COVER YOUR PAGE. REMEMBER TO PRESS FIRM AND HARD SO YOUR COLOURS ARE NICE AND BRIGHT.

Bec colours small blocks of space on the paper different colours with her wax crayons. She starts at the bottom of the page and colours a block of space yellow. Moving up the page, she colours using orange, pink, purple and blue crayons.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the table, Bec says, IT'S COVERED IN WAX CRAYON.

Crayon shading covers the paper.

Bec says, NOW, TO COVER IT IN BLACK PAINT. I'M USING A MIX OF TWO-THIRDS BLACK PAINT AND ONE-THIRD WASHING UP LIQUID. GOT A NICE, BIG BRUSH FOR THIS PART. AND JUST COVER THE ENTIRE PIECE OF PAPER.

Bec dips the wide paintbrush in the black paint mixture and starts painting over the crayon.

Bec says, OH, THAT LOOKS SO GOOD. I KNOW THIS LOOKS LIKE I'M RUINING SOMETHING, BUT DON'T YOU WORRY. YOU'LL SEE WHY I'M DOING THIS SOON. TOP TIP, THE REASON I'M USING WASHING UP LIQUID IS SO THAT THE PAINT DOESN'T FLAKE WHEN IT DRIES.

Bec completely covers the crayon shading with the black paint mixture.

Bec says, DONE. JUST LEAVE IT TO DRY!

[Pain splattering]

Later at the table, Bec says, TIME TO DRAW MY PICTURE. I'M GOING TO DO A HOT AIR BALLOON SCENE, AND I'M USING A RULER. WHAT? A RULER TO DRAW? WELL, JUST STAY WITH ME.

Bec drags a corner of the ruler through the dried black paint. She scrapes off the thin layer of paint, revealing the colourful wax crayon underneath it.

Bec says, I'M GOING TO DO THE FOREGROUND FIRST. SO, I'M STARTING WITH SOME BUSHES, AND I'M USING THE CORNER OF MY RULER TO SCRATCH OFF ALL MY BLACK PAINT. SCRATCHING REVEALS THE COLOURFUL WAX CRAYON UNDERNEATH. AND I'M ADDING A FEW EXTRA DETAILS.

Bec draws using the corner of the ruler to scrape away black paint. She draws bushes in each bottom corner of the paper.

Bec says, I’LL DO SOME SWIRLS, BUSHES HERE.

Bec adds swirls to the bushes that are on either side of a river.

Bec says, GOING TO DO SOME QUICK SCRATCHING TO CREATE REFLECTIONS ON MY RIVER.

Bec scratches lines into the river.

Bec says, WE CAN DO SOME CROSSHATCHING OVER HERE TO CREATE SOME GRASS.

Bec draws 3 by 3 grids over a patch of space between the river and a bush.

Bec says, THAT'S MY FOREGROUND. LET'S DRAW A BRIDGE. I'M USING A RULER TO CREATE SOME NICE, STRAIGHT LINES. CLEAN IT UP. THEN WITH MY SMALL RULER, AGAIN, JUST USING THE CORNER, TO SCRATCH OFF ALL OF THAT BLACK PAINT. Bec says, IT'S ONE OF THE FEW TIMES WHERE REMOVING PAINT IS ACTUALLY DOING THE DRAWING.

Bec drags the corner of the small ruler along a larger ruler and scrapes off a straight line of black paint. Bec draws more straight lines under the first and shapes a bridge. She adds two bridge towers on opposite sides of the drawing.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the table, cables in the drawing connect the bridge towers.

Bec says, WE’RE GOING TO START ON THOSE HOT AIR BALLOONS. WE'LL DO A LOVELY BIG ONE HERE IN THE MIDDLE. GIVE OUR HOT AIR BALLOON A LITTLE BASKET AND SOME PATTERNS.

In the middle of the bridge drawing, Bec draws a large hot air balloon between the bridge towers with her ruler. She draws curved lines across the balloon.

Bec says, THAT'S A GORGEOUS RAINBOW COLOUR. SOME OF YOU MIGHT RECOGNIZE THIS NOW. IT'S THE BALLOON FESTIVAL IN BRISTOL. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BASE YOUR PICTURE ON A REAL PLACE, THOUGH. YOU COULD USE THIS TECHNIQUE TO DRAW ANYWHERE YOU'VE BEEN ON HOLIDAY.

Bec adds small and large air balloons to her drawing.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the table, the drawing looks colourful. The wax crayon colours pop against the black paint in the different designs on the hot air balloons.

Bec says, I'VE ADDED PATTERNS TO ALL MY BALLOONS. I'M GOING TO ADD SOME EXTRA DETAILS, LIKE CLOUDS. AND A COUPLE OF BIRDS.

Bec adds scratches to the sky of the drawing as clouds and birds near the bridge.

Bec says, AND THERE IS YOUR BRILLIANT BALLOON PICTURE USING WAX CRAYON AND BLACK PAINT.

In animation, a frame appears around the hot air balloon drawing.

[Chimes]

[Paint splattering]

At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands with her arms out.

[Upbeat beach music plays]

[Water rushing]

Bec cheers, WHOA! YEAH! SURF'S UP!

Bec stands on a serving tray.

[Beach music ends]

Bec lowers her arms and says, WHEN I GO ON HOLIDAY, I LOVE TO GO SURFING.

[Beach music continues]

Bec raises her arms and pretends to surf on the serving tray.

[Seagulls squawking]

[Squelching]

Globs of white goo land on Bec’s shirt.

[Beach music ends]

Bec asks, WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?

[Seagull squawking]

Bec looks around.

[Ringing notification]

An order ticket prints from beneath the Makeaway Takeaway order screen.

[Printer whirring]

Bec says, A CUSTOMER!

Bec watches a video of the blond-haired boy wearing a blue T-shirt on the order ticket.

In the video, the blond boy says, HELLO, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY. BEC, I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. MY DAD'S TRYING TO TEACH ME HOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR, BUT I'M NOT QUITE GOOD ENOUGH YET, AND MUM ISN'T VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE NOISE. CAN YOU COME UP WITH A MAKE TO HELP ME ROCK OUT?

Bec says, I CERTAINLY CAN. I KNOW JUST THE THING! ONE ARTY DELIVERY COMING RIGHT UP!

Bec glances at the goo on her shirt. She tries to wipe it away and leaves.

[Energetic music plays]

In a comic book panel, Bec ties the laces on her pink sneakers and straightens her socks. She snaps her suspenders and puts on a Makeaway Takeaway visor. Bec puts on a craft tool belt which carries a paint roller, pen, scissors and other craft supplies. She straightens the collar of her shirt, winks, and gives a thumbs-up.

Bec says, LET'S DO THIS!

[Paint splattering]

[Light, cheerful music plays]

In a living room, the blond-haired boy lies in a chair with his hands behind his head.

The blond-haired boy narrates, HELLO, I'M EWAN. I'M NINE, AND I'M FROM LIVERPOOL.

Ewan wears his gold sequin blazer and holds a microphone.

Ewan narrates, WHEN I GROW UP, I WANT TO BE A STAND-UP COMEDIAN.

[Record scratching]

Ewan taps the microphone.

[Microphone feedback screeching]

Ewan says into the microphone, HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE GIRAFFE AND THE OSTRICH RACE? IT WAS NECK AND NECK.

[Audience laughing]

[Cheerful music continues]

Ewan narrates, EVEN BETTER, A ROCK STAR IN MY VERY OWN BAND.

Ewan wears a black and white wig and plays a pink inflatable guitar.

[Rock music plays]

Ewan shakes his head, and the wig falls off.

Ewan narrates, THERE'S ONE SLIGHT PROBLEM. I CAN'T PLAY YET.

Outside, Ewan tries to play guitar. He sits beside a man with a guitar.

[Off-key guitar music plays]

[Ewan sighing]

Ewan narrates, DAD IS TRYING TO TEACH ME, BUT MUM ISN'T IMPRESSED WITH THE NOISE.

Ewan strums his guitar. Nearby, Ewan’s mom, a woman with shoulder-length brown hair and bangs, watches him with his dad, the man with a guitar who has short brown hair.

[Guitar strumming]

[Off-key guitar notes play]

Ewan’s mom cringes.

Ewan says, BEC, CAN YOU HELP ME WITH A MAKE THAT WILL BE MUSIC TO MY MUM'S EARS?

[Ewan’s dad playing guitar]

Ewan’s mom plugs her ears and says, AND FAST, PLEASE.

[Doorbell ringing]

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

In a craft room, Bec joins Ewan and takes off her visor. Ewan wears a blue Makeaway Takeaway apron.

Bec says, HI, EWAN!

Ewan says, HELLO.

Bec asks, HOW CAN I HELP?

Ewan says, WELL, I'VE BEEN TRYING TO, LIKE, PLAY GUITAR WITH MY DAD. NOT VERY GOOD YET. MY MUM KEEPS GETTING ANNOYED WITH THE NOISE.

Bec says, I KNOW WHAT WOULD HELP. A ROCK OUT GUITAR.

A red crafted guitar is shown with lightning bolts on the sides and a smartphone in the sound hole.

[Celebratory music plays]

[Cheering and applause]

[Paint splattering]

[Gentle music plays]

Bec and Ewan stand at the table with crafting supplies, including empty plastic bottles, masking tape, paint, paintbrushes, a cardboard tube, pencil crayons, markers and more.

Bec says, TO START, I'VE TAKEN A LAUNDRY DETERGENT BOTTLE OUT OF THE RECYCLING. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO FIT A SMARTPHONE IN HERE. SO, JUST GOING TO CHECK FOR SIZE.

Bec lays a larger plastic bottle, a recycled laundry detergent bottle, on the table and places a smartphone over it.

Bec says, OKAY, THAT'S GOOD. AND NOW I CAN DRAW RECTANGLE.

Bec sets the smartphone aside. She draws a rectangle larger than the smartphone on the bottle.

Bec says, IT'S ALRIGHT IF IT'S ROUGH, 'CAUSE I'LL BE CUTTING IT OUT IN A SECOND.

Bec glances at Ewan and asks, SHOULD BE BIG ENOUGH FOR THE PHONE?

Ewan nods and says, YEAH.

Bec says, TO CUT IT OUT, TAKE OUT YOUR PAIR OF SCISSORS AND VERY CAREFULLY JUST PUSHING THEM THROUGH THE CENTRE. MIGHT WANT AN ADULT TO HELP YOU WITH THIS BIT.

Bec pushes the tip of her scissors through the middle of the rectangle.

Bec says, I CAN GET MY SCISSORS IN AND START CUTTING IT OUT. CAREFUL WHEN YOU'RE CUTTING THE PLASTIC, BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT CAN HAVE SHARP EDGES.

Bec cuts out the rectangle of the bottle.

Bec says, THERE WE ARE. IT'S READY FOR THE SMARTPHONE TO GO IN. SO, I'VE GRABBED THESE DISHWASHING DETERGENT BOTTLES. THAT'S GOING TO MAKE IT LOOK MORE LIKE AN ELECTRIC GUITAR, YEAH?

Bec places empty plastic dishwashing detergent bottles on either side of the laundry detergent bottle on angles.

Ewan nods and says, YEAH.

Bec and Ewan grab pieces of masking tape.

[Tape rasping]

Bec says, LET'S STICK THESE TOGETHER WITH SOME MASKING TAPE.

Bec and Ewan tape the dishwashing detergent bottles to the laundry detergent bottle. They flip the three bottles over and add more tape.

Bec says, WE'LL DO THE BACK.

Ewan says, YEAH.

Bec says, THAT'S GOOD.

Bec picks up the three bottles.

Bec says, LOOKING A BIT MORE LIKE A GUITAR NOW. JUST GOING TO TAKE THE LID OFF AND WE'LL HOLD ON TO THIS. YOU'LL SEE WHY IN A SECOND.

Bec unscrews the laundry detergent bottle lid.

Bec says, I'VE GOT THIS LOVELY LONG TUBE THAT I TOOK FROM A ROLL OF TINFOIL. I'M GOING TO STICK THIS IN HERE. CAN I GET YOU TO MASKING TAPE THE END FOR ME, PLEASE? YOU'RE GOING TO TAPE ALL AROUND THAT. LOVELY.

Bec sticks the laundry detergent bottle lid on the end of a thick cardboard tube. Ewan tapes them together.

Bec says, YOU WANT TO MAKE THE HEADSTOCK. SO, I'VE TAKEN THIS SMALLER BOTTLE. I'M GOING TO GET YOU TO MASKING TAPE AGAIN, IF THAT'S ALRIGHT, EWAN.

Bec slides the other end of the cardboard tube into the neck of a small plastic bottle.

Ewan says, YUP.

Ewan tapes the cardboard tube and plastic bottle together.

Bec says, THAT'S SECURED. WELL STUCK. JUST GOT TO ATTACH IT TO THE BODY.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the table, Bec says, IT'S ALL STUCK TOGETHER. LET'S PAPER MÂCHÉ!

[Uplifting music plays]

Ewan dips a small piece of newspaper into the paper mâché mixture.

Bec says, I'M USING OLD NEWSPAPER, AND TO STICK THEM DOWN, I'M USING P.V.A. AND ONE PART WATER TO MAKE IT NICE AND RUNNY.

Bec wraps a piece of dipped newspaper around the sharp rim of the rectangular hole in the laundry detergent bottle.

Bec says, I'M GOING AROUND THE EDGES OF THE HOLE THAT WE CUT EARLIER SO THAT THE EDGES AREN'T SHARP.

Bec smooths out the newspaper.

Bec asks, IF YOU HAD A BAND, EWAN, WHAT WOULD IT BE CALLED?

Ewan says, PROBABLY, LIKE, THE LIGHTNING BOLTS OR SOMETHING.

Bec says, OOH, I LIKE THAT. EWAN AND THE LIGHTNING BOLTS!

Ewan smiles. He and Bec cover the rest of the bottles in paper mâché.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the table, Bec points at the now dry paper mâché that completely covers all the bottles, the cardboard tube and the laundry detergent bottle lid.

Bec says, IT'S DRY! LET'S GET PAINTING.

Ewan cheers, YES!

Bec starts painting the cardboard tube guitar neck yellow. Ewan starts painting the laundry and dishwashing detergent bottle guitar body red.

Bec says, I HEARD YOU WANT TO BE A COMEDIAN WHEN YOU GROW UP.

Ewan says, YEAH.

Bec asks, DO YOU HAVE ANY JOKES?

Ewan asks, DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE SCOUT'S CHESS TOURNAMENT?

Bec shakes her head and says, NO.

Ewan says, IT WAS IN TENTS.

[Bec laughing]

Ewan grins. Bec grabs a cup of blue paint.

Bec says, I'M GOING TO ADD SOME BLUE DETAILS NOW.

Bec paints where the small bottle headstock and the cardboard tube guitar neck meet.

Bec says, WE'RE GOING TO KEEP PAINTING, AND ONCE WE'RE HAPPY WITH IT, WE'LL LET IT DRY.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the table, Bec paints white guitar frets onto the now brown guitar neck. Ewan paints a white lightning bolt onto a now-red dishwashing detergent bottle. The headstock is red and has a white lightning bolt.

Bec says, WE'RE JUST ADDING SOME EXTRA DETAILS WITH WHITE PAINT. EWAN'S GOT A LIGHTNING BOLT, LIKE THE NAME OF HIS BAND. WHAT'S MISSING?

Ewan looks thoughtful.

Ewan says, AH, STRINGS.

Bec says, EXACTLY. SO, I'VE GOT THESE LEFTOVER BITS OF WOOL AND A PIECE OF BLACK TAPE. AND I'M PUTTING IT UPSIDE DOWN SO IT'S STICKY SIDE UP, I CAN THEN LAY THE WOOL EQUALLY APART. AND I CAN TUCK IT JUST INSIDE.

Bec sticks four pieces of black wool equally spaced apart onto a piece of black tape. She sticks the tape under the top of the rectangular hole in the body of the guitar. Bec pulls the pieces of wool up the neck of the guitar.

Bec says, AND TO CONNECT IT UP HERE, I'M JUST GONNA TURN IT AROUND. YOU CAN JUST TAPE THAT DOWN FOR ME?

Bec turns the guitar, and Ewan tapes the four pieces of wool onto the headstock with a piece of black tape.

Bec says, BEAUTIFUL. WE'RE USING BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE SO THAT IT WILL SECURE IT AND WE DON'T HAVE TO PAINT OVER IT. NOW, OUR GUITAR HAS SOME STRINGS.

Bec picks up the guitar and strums the wool strings.

[Out of tune guitar chords playing]

Bec cringes and says, NEEDS A BIT OF TUNING, THOUGH.

[Exciting upbeat music plays]

Bec says, EWAN, YOU'VE GOT SOME BOTTLE CAPS THERE. WE'RE GOING TO STICK THEM ON WITH SOME DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE, BUT YOU CAN ALSO USE GLUE.

Ewan attaches the sides of six blue bottle caps to the sides of the headstock, using three on each side, with double-sided tape.

Bec says, GREAT. ON TO THE NEXT BIT. WE'RE GOING TO PUT THE SMARTPHONE IN HERE, BUT WE WANT TO SECURE IT INSIDE THE GUITAR.

Bec points to the rectangular hole in the guitar.

Bec says, SO, I'VE GOT THIS OLD SPONGE AND TWO ELASTIC BANDS. PUT THESE AROUND THE SPONGE. PUT SOME STRONG GLUE. STICK IT INSIDE THE GUITAR.

Bec wraps two large elastic bands around a rectangular kitchen sponge and covers them in glue. She sticks the sponge and elastic bands in the hole of the guitar.

Ewan asks, SO, DOES THE PHONE GO IN THERE, THEN?

Bec says, EXACTLY IT DOES.

Bec grabs the smartphone and slides it between the elastic bands.

Bec says, POP IT IN LIKE THIS. CUE IT IN. GOOD, ISN'T IT?

Ewan says, YEAH.

Bec asks, ARE YOU READY?

Ewan says, YUP.

Bec picks up the guitar. She crouches and presents it to Ewan.

Bec says, YOUR GUITAR.

Ewan takes the guitar from Bec and grins.

Bec stands and says, LET ME PRESS PLAY.

Bec presses an icon on the smartphone.

[Clicking]

[Rock music plays]

Ewan plays his new guitar. Bec dances to the music.

Over the music, Bec loudly says, AND THERE IS YOUR ROCK OUT GUITAR.

[Paint splattering]

Outside, Ewan says, THANKS, BEC. THIS IS THE PERFECT WAY TO PRACTICE ROCKING OUT BEFORE I FORM MY OWN BAND.

Ewan, his mom, and his dad rock out with crafted guitars. Ewan’s mom plays a green Rock Out guitar with purple stars. His dad rocks out with a green and orange guitar with yellow and orange flames.

[Rock music continues]

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands behind the front counter with Ewan’s order ticket.

Bec says, ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER.

Bec puts Ewan’s order ticket in a tray on the back counter.

[Register dinging]

[Cash register dinging]

Bec says, TIME FOR SOME HOLIDAY CHIPS.

[Bright music plays]

Bec pulls a paper cone of French fries out from under the counter.

Bec says, MMM.

Bec lifts a fry toward her mouth. A seagull swoops by and knocks the cone and fry out of her hand.

[Bec yelping]

[Seagull squawking]

Bec looks around.

Bec says, SERIOUSLY!? WHO LET THAT GUY IN HERE?

[Bec sighing]

Bec says, I KNOW WHAT WILL CHEER ME UP. SOME PAPER PUPPETRY!

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Funky music plays]

On a large upright notepad, in a drawing of a puppy, a person’s thumb sticks through the paper out of the puppy’s mouth. Bec leans toward the thumb, and the person scratches her cheek with their thumb.

[Dog panting]

Bec smiles.

[Dog yipping]

Behind the notepad, which is on an easel, Bec lowers her hand and pets the puppy drawing.

Singers sing, THERE'S A DOG IN THE HOUSE.

Bec reaches behind the drawing and sticks her thumb through the hole in the puppy’s mouth.

[Dog panting]

The singers sing, THERE'S A DOG IN THE HOUSE.

Bec narrates, NOW, LET'S SEE HOW IT'S DONE.

Bec sticks her thumb through the hole in the paper cut along the sides of the puppy’s jaw. She leans forward and scratches her cheek with her thumb.

The singers sing, THERE'S A DOG IN THE HOUSE.

[Dog yipping]

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Suspenseful music plays]

At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands behind the front counter wearing a swim mask on her forehead and a snorkel. She pretends to swim.

[Water splashing]

Bec says, NO HOLIDAY IS COMPLETE WITHOUT A RELAXING SWIM.

[Shark motif plays]

Bec stops and frowns.

Bec asks, DID YOU HEAR THAT?

[Shark motif plays]

Bec says, THERE IT IS AGAIN.

[Shark motif plays]

Bec yells, AH! SHARK!

A grey cardboard cut-out on the lunch table bench looks like a shark fin.

[Bec laughing]

Bec says, I GOT YA. AND IT DOES GIVE ME AN IDEA FOR A MEGA MINI MAKE!

[Paint splattering]

Bec takes a seat at the Mega Mini Make table on the other side of the room.

Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A SHARK BOOKMARK. FIRST, YOU TAKE A BLUE PIECE OF PAPER AND START FOLDING.

[Light, cheerful music plays]

Bec reaches for a square piece of blue paper on the table. Other items on the table include a black pen, a glue stick, and pink, white, and grey paper shapes.

Bec says, TURNING THE SQUARE SO IT LOOKS LIKE A DIAMOND, I’M TAKING THE BOTTOM CORNER, AND MATCHING IT UP TO THE TOP CORNER, AND DOWN TO THE CENTRE. I'M USING MY FINGER TO GO OUT TO THE SIDES TO GET A NICE, SHARP FOLD.

Bec turns the square to make a diamond and folds the bottom corner forward to the top corner, and makes a triangle. She slides her finger down the middle of the triangle and smooths out the bottom fold line.

Bec says, THEN TAKING THE BOTTOM CORNER OF MY TRIANGLE AND BRINGING IT UP TO THE TOP. AND DOING THE SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE SO IT MAKES A SMALLER DIAMOND.

Bec makes a fold from the bottom corners of the triangle up to the top corner and makes a small diamond.

Bec says, ONCE YOU'VE DONE THAT, OPEN IT BACK UP, TAKE THE TOP CORNER, AND BRING IT DOWN TO THE CENTRE. FOLD THAT DOWN.

Bec unfolds the small diamond back into a triangle. She folds the top of the triangle down so the tip touches the bottom.

Bec says, NOW TUCK THE CORNERS IN LIKE THIS.

Bec folds the bottom right corner of the triangle toward the middle and tucks the top of it under the folded piece in the middle.

Bec says, THERE'S ONE CORNER.

Bec folds the bottom left corner of the triangle toward the middle and tucks the top of it under the folded piece in the middle. The final shape makes a small diamond.

Bec says, TUCK THIS IN. FINALLY, JUST GOING TO TUCK THIS LITTLE BIT IN.

Bec folds the top of the diamond down with the other folded pieces to make a triangle shape with space between the folded pieces.

Bec says, THERE'S YOUR BOOKMARK. NEXT, TO DECORATE IT. I'LL CUT OUT PIECES OF CARD. SO, I'M USING GREY FOR MY SHARK'S MAIN HEAD. I'M USING A GLUE STICK, BUT YOU COULD ALSO USE P.V.A. POP MY SHARK'S GUMS THERE.

Bec glues a pink half-oval shape to a larger grey shark head-like shape.

Bec says, NOW, MAIN PART OF MY SHARK'S MOUTH ON. IT'S JUST A SMALLER SEMICIRCLE. JUST POPPING THAT IN THE CENTRE. YOU CAN SEE MY SHARK'S GUMS.

Bec glues a slightly smaller white semi-circle shape to the pink shape and makes a shark with its mouth open wide.

Bec says, TIME TO GIVE IT TEETH. I'M USING FELT-TIP PENS, BUT YOU CAN ALSO USE COLOURING PENCILS. A TONGUE AND ANOTHER ROW OF TEETH.

Bec draws a bottom row of shark teeth and a tongue with a red felt-tip pen and a top row of teeth with a black felt-tip pen.

Bec says, SO SHARP. COLOURING IN MY SHARK'S MOUTH.

Bec colours in the mouth with the black pen.

Bec says, AND GIVE THE SHARK SOME EYES.

Bec draws black dot eyes above the shark’s mouth.

Bec says, ALL I GOTTA DO NOW IS GLUE MY SHARK'S FACE ONTO MY BOOKMARK.

Bec glues the shark’s face to the blue bookmark. She holds up the completed bookmark.

Bec says, AND THERE IS YOUR SHARK BOOKMARK. I'LL GO POP IT IN MY BOOK.

Bec leaves the Mega Mini Make table and sits at the lunch table with a book. A shark, turtle and octopus decorate the cover.

Bec says, SHARK BOOKMARKS, SO YOU CAN TAKE A BITE OUT OF YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK.

Bec slides the bookmark over the top right corner of the book.

[Shark chomping]

[Paint splattering]

Later at Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands behind the front counter with a hot dog in a box. Her hat lies on the counter beside a bottle of sunscreen.

[Bec’s stomach growling]

Bec says, OH, I'M STILL HUNGRY! SO, I'M GOING TO HAVE A DELICIOUS HOT DOG WITH SOME YUMMY KETCHUP!

Bec grabs the sunscreen bottle and squirts sunscreen on her hot dog.

[Squelching]

Bec says, WHAT? THIS ISN'T KETCHUP, THIS IS SUN LOTION!

Bec looks at her hot dog and frowns.

Bec says, EH, AT LEAST MY HOT DOG WON'T GET SUNBURNT.

[Ringing]

Bec cheers, A CUSTOMER!

On the order screen, a girl with long brown hair wears a blue long-sleeved shirt.

The brown-haired girl says, IT'S THE MAKE OF THE DAY! HI, BEC. I'M LILY, AND I'M FROM BRISTOL.

The front counter conveyor belt begins to move. An empty plastic bottle with a purple lid lies on a red plastic plate on the belt.

Bec says, HI, LILY! THANKS FOR CALLING MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!

Lily says, BEC, WHAT CAN YOU MAKE OUT OF THESE THREE INGREDIENTS?

[Conveyor belt whirring]

Lily says, A PLASTIC BOTTLE, TINFOIL, AND SOME CARDBOARD.

A blue plastic plate has a roll of tinfoil, and a yellow plastic plate has a large piece of cardboard. The conveyor belt slows to a stop.

Bec says, HM. I MIGHT NEED SOME HELP. TELL ME A BIT MORE ABOUT YOURSELF.

Lily says, I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE BAKED BEANS. I CANNOT STAND THEM! EVEN, LIKE, LOOKING AT THEM OR JUST, LIKE, SMELLING THEM, IT'S REVOLTING.

[Bec chuckling]

Bec says, WELL, FAIR ENOUGH. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT BAKED BEANS.

[Flatulating]

[Lily giggling]

Bec says, THAT'S GOT ME THINKING ABOUT FOOD, THOUGH.

Bec looks at Lily’s Make of the Day ingredients thoughtfully.

Bec says, YES, I KNOW! ONE MAKE OF THE DAY COMING RIGHT UP!

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

Bec steps behind the front counter with craft supplies laid out, including cups of paint, paintbrushes, scissors, a black pen, a tube of glue and Lily’s Make of the Day ingredients.

Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A HUNGRY HARRY GAME USING LILY'S INGREDIENTS.

[Paint splattering]

A plastic bottle shapes the mouth and head of a person, Hungry Harry. Harry has a long mouth with a piece of white string tied to a crafted hamburger hanging out.

[Celebratory music plays]

[Cheering and applause]

[Paint splattering]

[Whooshing]

At the front counter, Bec grabs the plastic bottle.

[Gentle music plays]

Bec says, TAKING THE RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLE, AND A PAIR OF SCISSORS, I'M GOING TO CUT OFF THE BOTTOM. I'M JUST GOING TO PUSH THE SCISSORS THROUGH. YOU MIGHT WANT AN ADULT TO HELP WITH THIS BIT.

Near the bottom of the bottle, Bec pushes the tip of her scissors through the plastic and makes a hole.

Bec says, HERE WE ARE. I JUST WANT TO MAKE A LITTLE HOLE SO I CAN GET MY SCISSORS THROUGH.

Bec cuts off the bottom of the bottle.

Bec says, I'VE CUT THE BOTTOM OFF, SO I'M GOING TO DRAW TWO U-SHAPES. THAT'S BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO BE HARRY'S MOUTH. I WANT TO GIVE HARRY SOME BIG JAWS.

Bec draws large U shapes on opposite sides of the bottle.

[Pen squeaking]

Bec says, CUT OUT YOUR SHAPES.

Bec cuts out the U shapes with the scissors.

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

Later at the counter, Bec says, I'VE CUT THAT OUT, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT THOSE MATCH UP, BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO BE HARRY'S MOUTH.

Bec points to the U shapes on opposite sides of the bottle.

[Gentle music plays]

Bec says, USING LILY'S SECOND INGREDIENT, THE CARDBOARD, I'M GOING TO DRAW HARRY'S FACE. FIRST, I NEED TO DRAW THE REST OF HARRY'S MOUTH. SO, I'M TAKING THE LID OFF OF THAT BOTTLE AND TRACING AROUND, AND YOU'LL SEE WHY LATER.

Bec traces a circle onto the piece of cardboard with the lid of the bottle and a black pen.

Bec says, AND THEN I'LL GIVE HARRY THE REST OF HIS FACE AND SOME SPIKY HAIR.

Bec draws a face shape around the circle and spikey hair.

Bec says, LOOKS A BIT LIKE A PINEAPPLE. TIME TO CUT IT OUT!

Bec starts cutting out Hungry Harry’s face.

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

Later at the counter, Bec says, I'VE CUT OUT HARRY'S FACE. LET'S START PAINTING.

[Joyful music plays]

Bec says, START WITH THE HAIR IN BRIGHT YELLOW.

Bec paints Harry’s spikey hair yellow.

Bec says, THEN THE REST OF THE FACE.

Bec paints the rest of Harry’s face.

Bec says, I'LL BE USING THE SAME PAINT TO PAINT HARRY'S BOTTLE MOUTH. SO, I'VE MIXED IT WITH P.V.A. SO IT STICKS TO THE PLASTIC.

Bec sets Harry’s face aside. She puts down her paintbrush and grabs the plastic bottle.

Bec says, PAINT THE REST OF THE MOUTH.

Bec paints the long plastic bottle mouth.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the counter, Bec says, THOSE HAVE DRIED.

Bec holds up the bottle, now painted as Harry’s mouth. Red paint lines the U-shape cut lines.

Bec says, YOU CAN SEE I'VE ALSO GIVEN HARRY SOME LOVELY LIPS USING RED PAINT, BUT HARRY NEEDS THE REST OF HIS FACE!

Bec sets the mouth aside.

[Light upbeat music plays]

Bec grabs two bottle lids that look like eyes.

Bec says, I'M USING RECYCLED MILK BOTTLE LIDS FOR THE EYES.

Bec holds the milk bottle lid eyes over her eyes.

[Bec blabbering]

Bec lowers the bottle lids and says, AND I'VE PUT WHITE STICKERS IN THE CENTRE WITH BLACK FELT TIP FOR THE PUPILS. A BIG RED MILK BOTTLE TOP FOR THE NOSE. I'M USING DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE TO STICK THESE ON, BUT YOU CAN ALSO USE STRONG GLUE, AND SOME CARD FOR THE EYEBROWS.

Bec sticks the bottle lid eyes under Harry’s hairline, a red bottle lid nose under the eyes, and brown eyebrow-shaped paper cutouts over the eyes of Harry’s face.

Bec says, WHAT YOU SO SHOCKED ABOUT, HARRY? IT'S 'CAUSE I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU SOME DELICIOUS FOOD! USING LILY'S TINFOIL WE'RE GOING TO MAKE A HAMBURGER. TAKING A SHEET, SCRUNCHING IT UP INTO A BALL, THEN PUSHING IT DOWN ONTO THE TABLE TO GIVE IT A FLAT BOTTOM. AND THAT MAKES ONE OF OUR BUN SHAPES.

Bec scrunches up a piece of tinfoil and presses it against the counter. She moulds it into a bun shape between her hands.

Bec says, SO, I'VE JUST GOT TO DO IT WITH ONE MORE. PAINT THEM. YOU'LL END UP WITH THESE TWO DELICIOUS BUNS.

Bec places two brown tinfoil hamburger buns on the counter.

Bec says, THE FILLING IS MADE FROM RECYCLED PAPER. TOMATO, LETTUCE, AND A PATTY. AND TO ASSEMBLE IT, ADD SOME STRING WITH SOME STRONG GLUE. GLUE DOWN THE STRING AND INGREDIENTS TO ONE OF THE BUNS. PUT THE OTHER BUN ON.

Bec glues green, red and brown paper cutouts and a piece of white string between the tinfoil buns and holds up the crafted tinfoil hamburger.

Bec says, OOH, YUM.

Bec pretends to eat the tinfoil hamburger.

[Bec imitating munching]

Bec puts down the tinfoil hamburger and says, TIME TO LEAVE IT TO DRY.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the counter, Bec says, IT'S DRY!

[Light upbeat music continues]

Bec says, BUT HOW'S HARRY GOING TO EAT THE BURGER WITHOUT SOME TEETH? WELL, I'VE CUT OUT SOME STRIPS OF WHITE CARD WITH SOME BUMPS FOR TEETH.

Bec holds up a strip of white paper with teeth bump shapes.

Bec says, I'LL STICK THESE INSIDE HARRY'S MOUTH THERE. I'M USING DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE TO DO THIS, BUT YOU CAN ALSO USE STICKY TAPE.

Bec sticks four strips of white paper teeth on the inside of the bottle behind the red lip lines. The teeth fill the U-shapes in the bottle. Bec picks up the string glued to the tinfoil hamburger.

Bec says, THAT'S READY TO GO. SO, TAKE THE END OF THE STRING, FEED IT THROUGH THE BOTTLE SO THAT IT COMES OUT THE OTHER SIDE. THEN ATTACH HARRY'S FACE.

Bec slides the end of the string through the bottle and out the top. She holds the string against the bottle and slides the mouth of Harry’s cardboard face over the neck of the bottle.

Bec says, SEE WHY WE HAVE THAT HOLE NOW? AND USING THE LID OF THE BOTTLE, PUT IT ON TO HOLD THAT STRING IN PLACE.

Bec screws on the bottle lid and pinches the string in place. She holds the lid and neck of the bottle like a handle.

Bec says, AND THERE IS YOUR HUNGRY HARRY GAME! LET'S GIVE IT A SHOT.

Bec takes a step back and lets the tinfoil hamburger fall. She swings the ball into the air and tries to catch it in Hungry Harry’s mouth.

Bec says, WHOA! CLOSE!

Bec tries again. She swings the hamburger, and it falls toward her.

[Bec groaning]

Bec says, HARRY, COME ON NOW.

Bec swings and catches the ball.

[Bec grunting]

Bec cheers, YEAH!

Bec rolls the hamburger out of Harry’s mouth.

Bec says, WHILE I PACKAGE THIS UP FOR LILY, HERE'S SOME OTHER IDEAS.

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

[Cheerful upbeat music plays]

A hungry rabbit and a carrot game craft lie on the Makeaway Takeaway lunch table.

Bec narrates, HOW ABOUT A HUNGRY RABBIT WITH A CRUNCHY CARROT?

A robot and a bolt craft replace the rabbit and carrot.

With a robot voice, Bec narrates, OR A ROBOT WITH A NICE, TASTY BOLT?

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Upbeat music plays]

Later at Makeaway Takeaway, Bec carries a takeout bag over to the delivery hatch in the wall.

Bec says, I KNOW IT'S RUDE TO PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD, BUT WITH HUNGRY HARRY, YOU CAN.

Bec slides the bag onto a platform in the hatch and says, HERE YOU GO, LILY.

Bec presses a button beside the hatch, and the platform rises.

[Beeping]

[Paint splattering]

At Lily’s house, Lily takes a Hungry Harry game out of the takeout bag.

Lily says, IT'S A HUNGRY HARRY! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU!

At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec says, ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER.

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Dance music plays]

Later at Makeaway Takeaway, Bec dances wearing her sunglasses. A seagull and crab lie on the lunch table on either side of Bec’s fruity drink. Bec’s sunhat and beach ball are on the front counter.

Bec says, IT'S THE END OF MY HOLIDAY. THERE'S BEEN SOME HIGHS AND SOME LOWS. I'VE EVEN MADE SOME NEW BEST FRIENDS!

[Seagull squawking]

Bec lowers her sunglasses and says, TURNS OUT THEY JUST WANTED TO HANG OUT WITH ME. AND WHO COULD BLAME THEM? I'M PRETTY COOL.

[Banana phone ringing]

Bec says, A CUSTOMER!

Bec takes off her sunglasses and says, SORRY, GUYS. I GOTTA SPLIT.

Bec runs and grabs the banana phone off the Mega Mini Make table. She answers a call.

[Banana phone beeping]

Bec says, HELLO, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY. HOW CAN I HELP?

On the other end of the phone, a girl with long blond hair standing in front of a stack of hay wears a black riding helmet and a blue jacket over a grey shirt.

The blond-haired girl says, HI, BEC. IT'S SCOUT. PLEASE, CAN YOU DELIVER AN ARTY SURPRISE FOR MY RIDING INSTRUCTOR?

Bec says, AWESOME! I LOVE A CHALLENGE. SEE YOU SOON!

Bec ends the call and puts down the banana phone.

[Beeping]

Bec nods and leaves.

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Gentle music plays]

In a field, horses lie in the grass and walk around.

[Birds chirping]

In a stable, a black horse in a stall wears a blue blanket and munches on a mouthful of hay.

[Horse munching]

Elsewhere in the stable, a girl with long brown hair wearing a riding helmet and blue jacket brushes a white horse. A boy with short red hair wearing a riding helmet and red jacket stands on the other side of the horse. Bec walks over wearing her visor and a yellow and blue Makeaway Takeaway jacket.

Bec says, HI, GUYS!

Scout, the blond-haired girl, steps out from behind the red-haired boy and waves.

The three children say, HI!

Bec says, SO, SCOUT, TELL ME A BIT MORE ABOUT YOURSELF. WHAT IS THIS PLACE?

Scout says, LONDON EQUESTRIAN CENTRE.

A girl with her long blond hair tied back holds the white horse’s lead. She wears a black riding helmet and a black jacket over a pink and grey sweater.

Bec says, OH, AND WHAT WAS YOUR RIDING INSTRUCTOR'S NAME?

Scout says, NATASHA.

Bec asks, AND WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT NATASHA?

Scout says, UM, THAT SHE'S REALLY NICE AND SHE LETS YOU DO REALLY FUN STUFF.

Natasha, who has long brown hair and wears a dark blue London Equestrian Centre jacket, brushes a horse with Scout and walks alongside the long-haired girl riding a horse.

Bec says, OOH, THAT'S GOOD. WHAT ABOUT YOU GUYS? WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PLACE?

The long-haired girl says, IT'S SO FUN. WE EVEN GET TO DO SOME MUCKING OUT.

Bec says, OH, HOLD YOUR HORSES.

[Upbeat music plays]

Bec sniffs the air.

[Bec sniffing]

Bec says, MMM, I'VE GOT AN IDEA. LET'S MAKE SOME ART!

Bec and Scout leave in opposite directions. Horses in stalls turn their heads.

[Horses whinnying]

In a covered arena, the red-haired boy brings a folded orange tarp to Bec. Bec wears blue Makeaway Takeaway coveralls and work gloves. Bec lays the large tarp across the ground beside another tarp. Outside the arena, the long-haired girl and the brown-haired girl clean up dirt mixed with hay and manure. They shovel it into a wheelbarrow using pitchforks. The red-haired boy pushes the wheelbarrow around the stable. Bec pushes it over to the tarps in the arena. In rubber boots, she shovels the dirt, hay and manure across the bottom tarp.

[Upbeat music playing]

Bec kneels on the tarp and starts to form a shape with the dirt, hay, and manure, grinning. Wearing work gloves, the brown-haired girl and long-haired girl scoop more dirt, hay and manure into a basket with their hands. The long-haired girl grabs the basket and runs it over to Bec. Bec takes the basket and inhales deeply. She cringes and her eyes cross.

[Horse whinnying]

Bec dumps the basket of dirt, hay and manure onto the tarps and works on her creation. She shapes a cactus out of dirt, hay, and manure, and sharpens its edges. Elsewhere in the arena, the long-haired girl rides around on a brown horse. Bec shapes a horse’s head with the dirt, hay and manure. She adds two small ears and scoops more dirt, hay and manure onto the tarps. Bec grins. A girl with long red hair rides a horse. Natasha walks alongside her. The long-haired girl mucks out a stall. She scrapes clumps of dirt, hay and manure into a bucket and gives the red-haired girl a thumbs up.

[Horse whinnying]

Bec picks up more dirt, hay and manure. She drops a handful onto a clean spot on a tarp and forms the shape of a bird with it. In part of a barn, the red-haired boy grabs an armful of hay and passes it to Bec. Bec runs back to the arena and adds it to her artwork on the tarps. Scout runs in and gives Bec a roll of yellow plastic. Bec unrolls the plastic, revealing it to be a circle. Bec pumps her fist and lays it beside the bird. Bec steps back and looks at her creation. The brown-haired girl, red-haired boy, long-haired girl and Scout run in and look at the artwork.

Bec says, HEY, I'M DONE! WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Scout says, AMAZING.

Bec says, OH, THANK YOU. SHOULD WE DO THE BIG REVEAL?

The four children cheer, YES!

The children leave.

[Gentle, upbeat music plays]

The children return with Natasha and walk up to Bec. The brown-haired girl and the blond-haired girl guide Natasha, who holds her hands over her eyes.

Scout says, THANK YOU, NATASHA, FOR ALL OUR AMAZING RIDING LESSONS. TAKE A LOOK.

Natasha uncovers her eyes and looks at Bec’s creation.

Natasha says, WOW!

Bec’s dirt, hay and manure art shows a person on a horse in the desert riding among cacti and mountains with the sun shining above. Hay clouds fill the sky where the bird flies.

Natasha says, THIS IS AMAZING. HOW DID YOU MANAGE THIS?

The long-haired girl says, BEC HELPED US.

Natasha says, WOW!

Bec grins.

Bec says, THAT'S ANOTHER GREAT DAY OF DELIVERING ART TO YOUR DOOR! SEE YOU NEXT TIME ON…

Everyone cheers, …MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!
