In the Makeaway Takeaway restaurant, various craft supplies fill fridges, cover countertops, and adorn menus, including bottles of paint, scissors, sponges, ribbon, and a box of paintbrushes and pens. Host Bec Hill talks on her banana phone. Bec wears her long, curly pink hair in an updo. In her Makeaway Takeaway uniform, she wears a yellow polo shirt with a light blue collar, and a dark blue skirt with suspenders over light blue shorts. Bec paints a self-portrait with bubble wrap. Plates, cups, paint bottles, sunglasses, balled-up paper, and straws move on a conveyor belt. Bec pulls a bucket off her head. Three children paint. Bec paints a drawing of an orange, a pear and a banana. Bec announces the title.
Bec says, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!
[Doorbell ringing]
[Cheerful holiday music plays]
In Makeaway Takeaway, tinsel garland hangs around counters, tables and the order screen. Craft supplies, including paper cups, pencils, paintbrushes and rulers, hang on trees with paper stars. Gift-wrapped presents sit on the front counter. Bec appears wearing a blue Santa hat and elf ears.
Bec says, HI, I'M BEC! WELCOME TO MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY! EXCUSE THE EARS, I'M ON A MISSION. WHILE I FINISH WRAPPING THESE PRESENTS FOR SANTA, HERE'S TODAY'S MENU.
[Paper rustling]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Upbeat music plays]
Bec narrates, COMING UP ON TODAY'S SHOW, A TECHNIQUE THAT'S FULL OF FESTIVE FUN, A CUSTOMER GIVES ME A JINGLE BELL, TO HELP WITH A STICKY SITUATION, AND WE GET OUR SKATES ON TO DELIVER A SURPRISE TO AN AWESOME ICE SKATING COACH.
Bec holds a long piece of string dipped in white paint and drags it across a piece of dark blue paper. A black-haired girl wearing a red reindeer sweater wraps a present. On an ice rink, Bec carves a large block of ice.

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whistling]
[Cheerful holiday music plays]
In Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands behind the front counter, wrapping a present.
Bec says, I WANT TO GET ON SANTA'S NICE LIST, SO I'M HELPING HIM OUT WITH A FEW JOBS. HENCE ALL THE WRAPPING.
Bec points to a roll of white wrapping paper with trees.
Bec says, I'M REUSING THIS FROM LAST YEAR.
Bec picks up a long piece of string and says, AND THIS STRING!
[Bec gasping]
Bec says, THIS GIVES ME AN IDEA FOR...
[Exciting music plays]
Bec cheers, …A TAKEAWAY TECHNIQUE!
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
Bec takes a seat at the Makeaway Takeaway lunch table with a piece of blue paper, a plate of white paint, a small cup of glitter, a small piece of brown paper, scissors, pens and other craft supplies. Bec holds the long piece of string.
Bec says, USING STRING, I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW TO CREATE A MAGICAL WINTER WONDERLAND. BECAUSE IT'S SNOWY, I'M USING A DARK BACKGROUND, SO IT STANDS OUT. TAKE A PIECE OF STRING, AND DIP IT INTO SOME RUNNY PAINT.
Bec holds the ends of the string and dips the string in the plate of white paint. She stretches the string tight.
Bec says, HOLD IT TIGHT AND DRAG IT ACROSS THE PAPER. WE CAN GO BACK AND FORTH A FEW TIMES.
On the piece of blue paper, which lies lengthwise on the table, Bec holds the string vertically and drags it across the paper. She pulls the string back and forth, covering about an inch of space with paint. The painting looks like a birch tree. Bec paints a second tree.
Bec says, KEEP DOING THIS TO CREATE A ROW OF TREES.
Bec paints trees across the rest of the paper with the string dipped in paint. She leaves a small amount of space between each tree. She paints some trees with a thicker layer of paint than others.
Bec says, THERE'S YOUR FOREST, LET'S ADD SOME BRANCHES.
Bec sets the string aside and grabs a paintbrush.
Bec says, WE'RE GOING TO PUT THE BRANCHES ON THESE BRIGHTER TREES, BECAUSE THEY'RE IN THE FOREGROUND.
Bec paints branches on the trees with a thicker layer of paint. She paints the branches over the other trees.
Bec says, HM... THIS FOREST NEEDS SOME REINDEER.
Bec sets the painting aside and grabs the small piece of brown paper.
Bec says, WE'VE GOT THIS SCRAP PIECE OF BROWN PAPER, BUT YOU COULD ALSO USE RECYCLED CARDBOARD, OR AN OLD ENVELOPE. I'M ONLY GOING TO DRAW HALF A REINDEER. YOU'LL SEE WHY LATER.
Bec draws the front half of a reindeer onto the brown paper using a black pen and adds antlers.
Bec says, LET'S GIVE THIS REINDEER SOME ANTLERS. AND THERE IS OUR REINDEER! I'LL ADD SOME DETAILS WITH WHITE PEN.
Bec swaps her black pen for a white pen and adds details to the reindeer’s chest, ears, tips of its antlers, belly, knees and eyes.
Bec says, RIGHT! CUT IT OUT.
Bec cuts out the reindeer from the paper.
Later at the table, Bec says, I'VE CUT OUT THE REINDEER, AND THE BACKGROUND IS DRY!
Bec grabs her birch tree painting.
Bec says, I LOVE HOW THE STRING HAS MADE THIS LOOK LIKE A ROW OF SILVER BIRCH TREES.
Bec grabs a small dish of glue.
Bec says, TIME TO CREATE SOME SNOW. JUST POP SOME P.V.A. ONTO THE FOREGROUND...
Bec dips a paintbrush in the glue and paints between the trees on the lower half of the painting.
Bec says,...AND, REMEMBER IT'S SNOWING, SO IT'LL BE COMING DOWN, SO I'M PUTTING SOME GLUE ON THE TOPS OF THESE BRANCHES AS WELL.
Bec paints glue onto the tops of some branches in the painting.
Bec asks, DO YOU HAVE ANY FORESTS NEAR YOU? OR MAYBE PARKS? WHAT ARE THEY LIKE IN WINTER?
Bec paints another branch and says, THERE WE GO! TIME TO ADD THE SNOW. I'M GOING TO DO IT OVER A TRAY. YOU COULD DO IT OVER SOME OLD NEWSPAPER.
Bec pulls out a tray and slides it under the painting. She pours a container of silver glitter over the glue on the painting.
Bec says, I'M POURING THE GLITTER OVER THE PICTURE.
Bec sets the glitter container aside and says, ARE YOU READY? SHAKE IT OFF.
Bec picks up the painting and shakes the glitter off onto the tray. In the painting, the glitter looks like snow.
Bec says, AND ALL THIS LEFTOVER GLITTER, I CAN SAVE FOR ANOTHER TIME.
Bec sets the tray and leftover glitter aside and lays down the painting.
Bec says, THERE'S MY MAGICAL FOREST. STICK THE REINDEER DOWN WITH SOME P.V.A.
Bec glues the reindeer onto the painting next to a tree.
Bec says, YOU CAN SEE NOW WHY WE ONLY DREW HALF A REINDEER. BECAUSE THIS GIVES THE ILLUSION THAT IT'S PEERING THROUGH THE FOREST. AND THERE IS YOUR MAGICAL WINTER WONDERLAND SCENE. MADE WITH STRING!
In animation, a frame appears around the painting.
[Paint splattering]
At the front counter, Bec wraps a ball and stuffs it into a sack.
Bec says, I'VE BEEN WRAPPING EVERYTHING ALL DAY! I'M FAMISHED. WHERE DID I PUT MY LUNCH?
Bec looks around. She reaches behind a skateboard wrapped in red Santa wrapping paper and throws a scrap piece of wrapping paper over her shoulder.
Bec says, AH! OH, NO!
Bec pulls grapes out from behind the skateboard. Each grape is wrapped in wrapping paper.
Bec says, I'VE EVEN WRAPPED MY GRAPES!
[Ringing notification]
An order ticket prints from beneath the Makeaway Takeaway order screen.
[Printer whirring]
Bec says, A CUSTOMER!
Bec drops her grapes on the counter and takes a look at the video on the order ticket. In the video, the black-haired girl wearing a red reindeer sweater also wears a reindeer antlers headband.
The black-haired girl says, HELLO, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY. HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Bec grins.
The black-haired girl says, BEC, I NEED YOUR HELP! I HAVE SO MANY GIFTS TO WRAP UP, I'M GETTING INTO A RIGHT PICKLE. CAN YOU HELP?
Bec says, I HAVE JUST THE THING! ONE ARTY DELIVERY COMING RIGHT UP!
Bec grabs the order ticket and runs out of the restaurant.
[Energetic music plays]
In a comic book panel, Bec ties the laces on her pink sneakers and straightens her socks. She snaps her suspenders and puts on a Makeaway Takeaway visor. Bec puts on a craft tool belt which carries a paint roller, pen, scissors and other supplies. She straightens the collar of her shirt, winks, and gives a thumbs-up.
Bec says, LET'S DO THIS!
[Paint splattering]
[Light, cheerful music plays]
In a living room decorated with garland, holiday lights, an ornament wreath and ribbon, the black-haired girl smiles.
The black-haired girl narrates, MY NAME'S KIRA, AND I'M NINE YEARS OLD. ME AND MY FAMILY LOVE CHRISTMAS.
Six of Kira’s family members fill the living room. Two girls wearing red sweaters and reindeer headbands wear tinsel garland around their necks. A bearded man wears a reindeer onesie. Kira gives a thumbs up.
Kira narrates, I MEAN, WE REALLY LOVE CHRISTMAS!
[Holiday music plays]
The two girls wearing tinsel garlands cheer, "YES!" CHRISTMAS!
A woman with long, purple hair, wearing a red sweater, and a girl with her long, black hair in a bun, wearing a white reindeer sweater with flashing holiday lights on the antlers, pump their fists.
Kira narrates, WE LOVE TO DECORATE THE HOUSE, AND WEAR OUR CHRISTMAS OUTFITS.
Kira waves her hands in the air.
Kira narrates, MY SISTER LOVE HER FLASHING REINDEER JUMPER.
Kira’s sister, who wears her hair in a bun and a white reindeer sweater with flashing lights, nods.
Kira narrates, WHILE MY BROTHER HAS A FESTIVE JUMPER FOR EVERY DAY IN DECEMBER.
Kira’s brother, who has a neatly trimmed beard and wears a purple toque, shows off three different holiday sweaters: a red one, a purple one, and a red, white and purple one.
Kira narrates, CHRISTMAS REALLY IS A BIG DEAL IN OUR HOUSE. THE PROBLEM IS, I'VE BEEN TRYING TO WRAP ALL THE PRESENTS BUT KEEP GETTING IN A TANGLE WITH THE STICKY TAPE!
Kira tries to wrap a present with tape wrapper around her arm.
Kira asks, BEC, CAN YOU HELP ME SAVE CHRISTMAS, AND GET OUT OF THIS STICKY MESS?
[Doorbell ringing]
In a craft room, Bec says, MERRY CHRISTMAS, KIRA!
Kira says, MERRY CHRISTMAS, BEC!
Kira wears a Makeaway Takeaway apron.
Bec says, NOW, I HAVE THE PERFECT CRAFTY SOLUTION FOR YOUR FESTIVE FRUSTRATIONS. WE'RE GOING TO MAKE A REINDEER TAPE DISPENSER!
Kira says, THAT SOUNDS GREAT!
Bec and Kira stand at a table. A crafted tape dispenser looks like a reindeer with a red nose. A strip of tape looks like the reindeer’s tongue sticking out of its mouth.
[Fanfare and applause]
[Paint splattering]
[Upbeat holiday music plays]
Later at the table, Bec says, FIRST, TAKE A BIG PIECE OF CARDBOARD, AND DRAW A HOLLY LEAF ON IT. THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BASE TO ATTACH OUR TAPE DISPENSER TO THE WALL. THE CIRCLE IS WHERE WE CAN HANG IT UP FROM.
Bec draws a holly leaf on a piece of cardboard with a black marker. She draws a circle near the bottom of the leaf. Kira watches Bec work.
Bec says, RIGHT! TIME TO CUT IT OUT, AND PAINT IT GREEN.
Bec cuts out the holly leaf from the cardboard and paints it green.
Bec says, WHILE THE HOLLY LEAF IS DRYING, TAKE A LARGE PLASTIC MILK BOTTLE, AND CUT OUT THE BOTTOM.
Bec pinches a corner of a milk bottle and cuts along a line marked with a black marker.
Bec says, I'M SQUEEZING IT TO MAKE IT A BIT EASIER TO CUT. WATCH YOUR FINGERS, YOU MIGHT NEED AN ADULT TO HELP.
Bec cuts off the bottom of the milk bottle.
Bec says, USING DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE, OR STRONG GLUE, STICK THE BASE OF THE MILK BOTTLE TO THE DRIED HOLLY LEAF.
Bec sticks the bottom of the milk bottle to the upper half of the holly leaf with double-sided tape on the bottom of the bottle.
Bec says, NEXT, YOU'LL NEED TWO CARDBOARD TUBES. THESE'LL BE USED TO HOLD THE TAPE INSIDE YOUR DISPENSER. TAKE ONE OF YOUR TUBES, AND CUT IT IN HALF.
Kira watches Bec cut one of the two cardboard toilet paper tubes in half with a pair of scissors.
Bec says, AND CUT ALONG THE EDGES. SPLAY THEM OUT LIKE SO.
Bec cuts a quarter of the way into one of the half-tube pieces. She places evenly spaced cuts around the tube and folds the pieces down.
Bec says, THESE'LL BE STUCK ON THE INSIDE OF OUR PLASTIC BOTTLE.
Bec places both half-tube pieces with matching cuts and splayed pieces into the bottom of the milk bottle.
Bec says, AGAIN, BEST TO USE STRONG GLUE. NEXT, TAKE YOUR OTHER ROLL, AND CUT ALONG THE MIDDLE.
Bec cuts through the second cardboard tube lengthwise.
Bec says, NOW I'M GOING TO ROLL IT UP INTO ITSELF, SO IT COULD BE HELD IN PLACE BY THE OTHER TWO TUBES. POP THE TAPE OVER, AND SLOT IT IN!
Bec rolls the second cardboard tube into itself and slides it through a roll of pink tape. She slips the tube into the bottom of the milk container between the two cardboard tube halves on opposite sides of the container.
[Paint splattering]
Later at the table, Bec holds up the holly leaf.
Bec says, I'VE STUCK EVERYTHING DOWN AND I'VE ADDED A PINK ROLL OF TAPE. WHICH IS THE PERFECT COLOUR FOR A TONGUE!
Kira smiles.
Bec says, NEXT, TAKE THE OTHER HALF OF THE BOTTLE, AND STICK ON SOME EYES. I'M GOING TO USE SOME OLD PING PONG BALLS.
Bec holds ping pong balls over her eyes.
[Kira laughing]
Bec says, I'M USING DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE.
Bec tapes the ping pong balls to either side of the milk bottle handle as eyes.
Bec says, THERE'S ONE EYE, AND THERE'S THE OTHER. NOW I'M GOING TO FEED THE TAPE THROUGH THE END.
Bec pulls the tape from the roll in the bottom half of the milk bottle and through the top half. She slides it through the top of the bottle.
Bec says, BLOOP-BLOOP!
Bec slides the top half of the milk bottle over the bottom half.
Bec says, PASTE IT ON LIKE THIS.
Bec sticks the tape tongue onto the bottle.
Bec says, GETTING THERE. NOW WE NEED TO MAKE SOME EYELIDS AND EARS FOR OUR REINDEER. NOW, WE'RE GOING TO USE SOME CRAFT FOAM, WHICH YOU CAN GET FROM A CRAFT SHOP, OR A SUPERMARKET. BUT YOU COULD ALSO USE BROWN CARD.
Kira draws reindeer ears onto a sheet of brown craft foam with a black marker.
Bec says, SO WE'RE STARTING HERE BY DRAWING THE EARS, AND THEN WE'LL MOVE ON TO THE EYELIDS.
Large reindeer ears and small reindeer eyelids mark the craft paper.
Bec says, KIRA, YOU'VE DONE A FANTASTIC JOB. I THINK YOU'RE READY TO CUT THEM OUT NOW.
Kira smiles. She starts cutting out the reindeer ears and eyelids.
Bec says, THE BIGGER PIECES WILL BE THE REINDEER'S EARS, AND THE SMALLER PIECES WILL BE ITS EYELIDS.
Kira cuts out the first reindeer ear.
Bec asks, WHAT SHOULD WE CALL THIS REINDEER?
Kira says, BEC.
Bec says, AWW!
Kira cuts out the second reindeer ear.
Bec says, FANTASTIC WORK, KIRA! I THINK IT'S TIME TO STICK 'EM ON!
[Paint splattering]
Later at the table, Bec holds up the holly leaf with the reindeer tape dispenser stuck on with the reindeer ears and eyelids behind the ping pong ball eyes.
Bec says, WE'VE STUCK THEM ON. NOW IT'S TIME FOR SOME ANTLERS! WE'RE GOING TO USE SOME TINFOIL. KIRA, COULD YOU MAKE ME SOME ANTLERS, PLEASE?
Kira says, YEAH, SURE!
Kira grabs a piece of tinfoil.
[Tinfoil crackling]
Bec says, TO MAKE THE ANTLERS, SCRUNCH UP SOME TINFOIL INTO SAUSAGE SHAPES. ONE LONG SAUSAGE, AND A FEW LITTLE ONES COMING OFF IT.
Kira roughly rolls the piece of tinfoil. She scrunches the long roll and squeezes smaller rolls onto it, shaping them into the form of antlers. She makes a pair of antlers.
Bec says, THEY'RE LOOKING GREAT! OKAY! TIME TO STICK THEM ON WITH SOME DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE.
[Paint splattering]
Later at the table, the tinfoil antlers are stuck to the milk jug behind the ping pong eyes.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO USE TWO DIFFERENT SHADES OF BROWN, AND A WHITE, TO COLOUR THE FACE. NOW KIRA, YOU'RE GOING TO MIX TOGETHER A WHITE AND A DARK YELLOW, FOR THE ANTLERS.
Kira mixes white and dark yellow paint with a paintbrush on a plastic plate.
Bec says, AW, SUPER STUFF! WE'RE USING ACRYLIC PAINT, BUT YOU COULD ALWAYS MIX POWER PAINT AND P.V.A. THE P.V.A. WILL HELP IT STICK TO THE PLASTIC. LET'S START PAINTING!
Bec paints the milk bottle reindeer light and dark brown. She paints around the nose of the reindeer dark brown and around the handle light brown.
[Paint splattering]
Later at the table, under the milk bottle reindeer’s nose is white, and under the milk bottle handle is light brown. White streaks are in the reindeer’s ears. Bec holds up the holly leaf.
Bec says, RIGHT, IT'S ALL DRY! AND AS YOU CAN SEE, I'VE ADDED SOME EXTRA DETAIL IN THE EAR, WITH SOME WHITE PAINT. THIS MILK BOTTLE CAME WITH A PERFECT RED LID, THAT WE CAN USE AS OUR NOSE. WE'RE USING DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE TO STICK IT ON.
Kira sticks the red milk bottle nose onto the top of the handle.
Bec says, LAST OF ALL, USE A BLACK MARKER TO MAKE THE PUPILS FOR THE EYES.
Bec draws black dots onto the ping pong eyes.
Bec says, AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! YOUR REINDEER TAPE DISPENSER.
Kira says, WOW! THAT LOOKS AMAZING! I LOVE IT!
[Paint splattering]
In Kira’s living room, Kira pulls a piece of tape out of the reindeer tape dispenser.
Kira says, THANKS SO MUCH, BEC! NOW WRAPPING PRESENTS IS GOING TO BE SUPER-EASY!
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands behind the front counter with Kira’s order ticket.
Bec says, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, KIRA! I HOPE IT ADDS A "DASHER" MAGIC TO YOUR CHRISTMAS. ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER!
Bec puts Kira’s order ticket in a tray on the back counter.
[Register ding]
[Holiday music plays]
Bec says, I COULDN'T GET ALL MY GRAPES OPEN, SO SANTA'S REINDEER GAVE ME ONE OF THEIR CARROTS!
Bec bites off the end of a carrot.
[Crunching]
Bec says, I KNOW SOMEONE ELSE WHO LIKES CARROTS. HERE'S SOME PAPER PUPPETRY.
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
[Cheerful, upbeat music plays]
On a large notepad on an easel, Bec pulls a paper lever behind a drawing of a snowman holding a carrot. The snowman puts the carrot on its nose.
Bec narrates, NOW, LET'S SEE HOW IT'S DONE.
The other side of the notepad shows strips of paper moving in sync with the lever in the shape of a curve and moving the carrot. Bec smiles.
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
In Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands by the lunch table with a basket of sweaters. She holds open a scroll with lists under a green checkmark and a red X.
Bec says, JUST CHECKING SANTA'S NAUGHTY AND NICE LIST, TO SEE WHERE I AM.
Bec unrolls the rest of the scroll. She looks at the lists, frowns, and furrows her brow.
Bec says, I'M ON THE NAUGHTY LIST?!
Bec drops the scroll.
Bec says, BUT I'VE BEEN SO HELPFUL!
Bec points to the basket and says, I EVEN DID HIS LAUNDRY!
Bec pulls a small Santa hat out of the basket.
[Record scratch]
Bec says, UH-OH. I SHRUNK HIS HAT. THAT MUST BE WHY I'M ON THE NAUGHTY LIST. I KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT UP TO HIM! WITH A MEGA MINI MAKE.
Bec tosses the hat aside.
[Paint splattering]
[Gentle music plays]
Bec takes a seat at the small Mega Mini Make table on the other side of the room, which is equipped with craft supplies that include a piece of purple paper, masking tape, a glue stick, a small cardboard tube, a small container of red paint, paintbrushes, and paper cut-out pieces of clothing.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A CHRISTMAS TREE ELF. YOU TAKE A CARDBOARD TUBE, AND PAINT IT FESTIVE RED.
Bec starts painting the cardboard tube red.
Bec says, IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO PUT DOWN SOME OLD NEWSPAPER WHENEVER YOU'RE PAINTING.
Bec finishes painting the outside of the tube and paints part of the inside.
Bec says, I'M PAINTING THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE.
Bec sets her paintbrush aside and stands the cardboard tube up on the table.
Bec says, WHILE THAT DRIES, WE'LL MAKE AN ELF!
Bec grabs a green paper-cut-out shirt.
Bec says, I'VE CUT OUT A BODY FROM A PIECE OF GREEN PAPER, AND I FOUND AN OLD PHOTO OF ME, BUT YOU COULD ALSO USE AN OLD PHOTO OF YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR FAMILY, OR EVEN A PET. STICK YOUR ELF TOGETHER...
Bec clues her head from a picture of herself onto the neck of the shirt with the glue stick.
Bec says, AND I'VE USED PIECES OF CUT-OUT PAPER TO MAKE MY COSTUME AS WELL.
Bec glues an elf hat cut-out onto the picture of herself. She adds mittens and a belt.
Bec says, TIME TO MAKE SOME SPRINGY LEGS. I'M TAKING TWO STRIPS OF PAPER, CROSSING THEM OVER AT THE ENDS, AND THEN FOLDING THEM OVER EACH OTHER. SO, OVER THAT WAY, OVER THAT WAY. JUST KEEP DOING IT, 'TIL YOU GET TO THE TOP ONE.
Bec makes a 90-degree angle with two narrow strips of paper and repeatedly folds one end over the other.
Bec says, YOU CAN SEE I'VE USED A CONCERTINA EFFECT.
Bec stretches the intertwined accordion-like strips of paper.
[Twanging]
Bec says, AND I'M GOING TO ADD A SHOE.
Bec sticks a brown paper shoe cut-out to one end of the accordion-like leg.
Bec says, TO GIVE MY LEG A FOOT.
Bec grabs a second leg with a shoe attached.
Bec says, I'VE GOT ANOTHER ONE HERE. SO, I'LL STICK THEM ON! A LITTLE BLOB OF GLUE STICK.
Bec glues the legs to the belt on the elf.
Bec says, ONE LEG THERE, ONE LEG THERE.
Bec grabs the painted cardboard tube and says, IT'S DRY! LET'S ADD IT TO THE TUBE.
Bec glues the elf to the tube.
Bec says, BECAUSE THIS IS A DECORATION TO PUT ON THE TREE, I'LL ADD SOME RED WOOL SO YOU CAN HANG IT UP.
Bec grabs a piece of red wool string and a piece of tape.
Bec says, A PIECE OF TAPE ON ONE SIDE, ON THE INSIDE OF THE TUBE AND ANOTHER ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Bec tapes the ends of the strings to the inside of the tube on opposite sides.
Bec says, AND THERE WE HAVE A CHRISTMAS TREE ELF! I'LL GO HANG IT UP ON THE TREE!
Bec picks up the elf by the string.
[Light cheerful music plays]
Bec walks over to the tree by the front counter conveyor belt. A pair of red underwear with white polka dots hangs on the tree.
Bec says, SANTA WILL LOVE THIS!
Bec spots the pair of underwear.
Bec says, OOH! BUT HIS PANTS AREN'T MEANT TO BE THERE!
Bec takes the pair of underwear off the tree and tosses them aside. She hangs the elf ornament on the tree.
Bec says, BACK ON THE NICE LIST!
[Paint splattering]
[Light cheerful music continues]
Later in Makeaway Takeaway, Bec lifts a bar with two stockings full of craft supplies hanging from it.
[Bec grunting]
Bec puts down the bar.
[Bec sighing]
Bec says, DON'T MIND ME, I'M JUST DOING SOME STOCKING TRAINING. I HAVE TO BE PREPARED TO FILL THE TANGLIEST OF TIGHTS, OR STINKIEST OF SOCKS.
Bec smells a stained sock.
[Sniffing]
Bec groans, UH!
Bec faints.
[Banging]
[Ringing]
Bec jumps to her feet and dusts off her skirt.
Bec says, JOLLY JINGLE BELLS! A CUSTOMER!
Bec turns toward the front counter. On the order screen, a girl with long, black hair, wearing a light purple T-shirt, appears.
The long-haired girl says, IT'S THE MAKE OF THE DAY! HI, BEC, I'M AMELIA, AND I'M FROM WALES.
From behind the front counter, Bec says, HI, AMELIA! THANKS FOR CALLING MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY.
Amelia says, WHAT CAN YOU MAKE OUT OF THESE THREE INGREDIENTS? YOGURT POTS, GREEN TISSUE PAPER, AND SOME STICKERS.
The conveyor belt starts moving, and plastic plates appear with Amelia’s ingredients. A blue plastic plate has plastic yogurt containers, a yellow plastic plate has dark green tissue paper, and an orange plate has strips of different coloured circle stickers.
Bec says, OH... GREEN TISSUE PAPER, VERY FESTIVE! OKAY, IF YOU MET SANTA, WHAT WOULD YOU ASK HIM?
Amelia asks, CAN I HAVE EXTRA PRESENTS?
[Bec and Amelia laughing]
[Bec gasping]
Bec says, OH, I KNOW WHAT YOU'D LIKE! ONE MAKE OF THE DAY, COMING RIGHT UP!
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
Bec steps behind the front counter with her craft supplies laid out. The supplies include a large piece of cardboard, cups of yellow, green and brown paint, a dish of glue, pink, yellow and red pipe cleaners, a cup of gold chocolate coins, and Amelia’s Make of the Day ingredients.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE AN ADVENT TREE, USING AMELIA'S INGREDIENTS.
[Paint splattering]
Pipe cleaner tinsel decorates a plastic cup Advent calendar tree with a star on top.
[Celebratory music plays]
[Cheering and applause]
[Paint splattering]
[Cheerful holiday music plays]
At the front counter, Bec says, I'VE GOT A BIG PIECE OF CARD THAT I CUT OUT FROM A RECYCLED BOX, AND I'M TAKING AMELIA'S FIRST INGREDIENT, THE YOGURT POTS!
Bec grabs the plastic yogurt containers off the blue plate.
Bec says, I'VE ALSO ADDED SOME OF MY OWN FROM MY RECYCLING. I'M GOING TO MAKE A TRIANGLE SHAPE FOR MY TREE, PLACE THEM ON.
Bec starts making a triangle shape with the plastic containers on the piece of cardboard and forms a tree. She places a single square container under the bottom row as a trunk.
Bec says, OOH, THIS IS LOOKING GOOD ALREADY!
Bec adds rows of different-shaped containers.
Bec says, EXCELLENT. DRAW AROUND THE POTS. THIS IS SO THAT THE CARDBOARD'S THE RIGHT SIZE.
Bec draws a rough triangle shape around the tree with a black marker.
Bec says, EVERY CHRISTMAS TREE NEEDS A STAR.
Bec draws a star at the top of the tree.
Bec says, DON'T NEED THESE NOW!
Bec pushes all the plastic yogurt containers off the cardboard.
Bec says, WE'LL COME BACK TO THEM LATER. I'M GOING TO CUT THIS OUT, AND WHEN I FLIP IT OVER, IT SHOULD BE NICE AND NEAT.
Bec cuts into the cardboard with her scissors.
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
Later at the counter, I'VE CUT OUT THE TREE, LET'S GET PAINTING.
[Cheerful holiday music plays]
Bec says, I'LL START WITH MY LOVELY YELLOW STAR.
Bec paints the star of her cardboard tree cut-out yellow.
Bec says, PAINT THE TRUNK.
Bec paints the square trunk brown.
Bec says, AND THE REST OF THE TREE, GREEN.
Bec dips a wide paintbrush into a container of dark green paint.
Bec says, WHAA... THIS IS THE FASTEST I'VE EVER DECORATED A TREE.
Bec paints the rest of the cardboard tree green.
Bec says, I'M ALSO GOING TO PAINT THE YOGURT POTS.
Bec holds up the square container and says, I'LL SAVE THIS ONE TO DO AS BROWN, THE REST CAN ALL BE GREEN.
Bec grabs one of the other circular containers.
Bec says, I'VE MIXED P.V.A. IN WITH THE GREEN PAINT, SO IT STICKS TO THE PLASTIC.
Bec starts painting the container.
[Paint splattering]
Later at the counter, Bec says, MY POTS ARE ALL PAINTED, AND DRIED! INCLUDING A BROWN ONE, FOR THE TRUNK.
Bec holds up and shakes the brown trunk container.
[Rattling]
The brown container and many of the now-green containers are covered with tissue paper.
Bec says, I’VE DONE SOMETHING CLEVER THERE. I'VE ADDED A LITTLE TREAT! I'LL SHOW YOU HOW.
Bec swaps the brown container for an empty green container.
Bec says, TAKE ONE OF THE EMPTY YOGURT POTS.
Bec dips a paintbrush in the dish of glue and says, ADD P.V.A. AROUND THE EDGE.
Bec paints glue around the rim of the container.
Bec says, POP IN A TREAT.
Bec drops a chocolate gold coin in the container.
Bec says, NOW THE TISSUE PAPER ON TOP.
Bec lays a piece of green tissue paper over the container and lightly presses it onto the glue.
Bec says, AND THEN CUT AROUND.
Bec cuts around the container with a pair of scissors and trims the tissue paper.
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
Later at the counter, Bec finishes trimming the tissue paper. She sets down the scissors and the container and dips a wide paintbrush into the glue.
Bec says, LET'S STICK ALL OUR POTS TO THE TREE!
[Upbeat holiday music plays]
Bec says, I'VE COVERING THE TREE, IN P.V.A., IT'S ALRIGHT, 'CAUSE IT DRIES CLEAR.
Bec paints the cardboard tree with glue.
Bec says, PUT THE POTS ON!
Bec glues the bottoms of the yogurt containers onto the cardboard tree.
Bec says, I'LL PUT THESE ACROSS THE BASE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO ADD SWEETS INSIDE. YOU COULD ADD GIFTS, JOKES, OR EVEN POEMS.
Bec presses the containers onto the cardboard.
Bec says, OH, LAST ONE! YEAH! WAIT FOR THE GLUE TO DRY.
[Paint splattering]
Later at the table, Bec cheers, IT'S DRY!
[Cheerful music plays]
Bec says, I'M GOING TO ADD THE FINAL INGREDIENT, THE STICKERS.
Bec grabs the plate of circle stickers and says, I'VE NUMBERED THEM ONE TO TWENTY-FOUR, BECAUSE THIS IS AN ADVENT TREE, AND IT'S A COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS! PLACE THEM RANDOMLY, SO YOU HAVE TO HUNT FOR YOUR TREAT.
Bec grabs a strip of pink circle stickers and peels off a sticker labelled with the number 16.
Bec says, EH, LET'S SEE, PUT THIS ONE AT THE TOP.
Bec presses the sticker onto the tissue paper on the yogurt container at the top of the cardboard tree.
Bec says, I'M MAKING SURE THAT EVERY YOGURT POT HAS ITS OWN STICKER.
Bec places the remaining stickers on the remaining containers.
Bec says, LAST ONE! 24.
Bec places the last sticker labelled 24 onto the square trunk container.
Bec says, ALMOST THERE. IT JUST NEEDS A BIT OF DECORATION. I'M USING PIPE CLEANERS FOR TINSEL.
Bec wraps a purple pipe cleaner under the number 16 container at the top of the tree.
Bec says, I'M JUST WRAPPING THESE AROUND, BUT YOU CAN STICK THESE ON WITH STRONG GLUE.
Bec wraps the other pipe cleaners around the other rows of the tree.
Bec says, AND THERE IS YOUR ADVENT TREE. LET'S TRY IT OUT.
Bec pushes her thumb through the tissue paper on the number 8 container in the middle of the tree and pulls out a chocolate gold coin.
Bec says, MMM!
Bec peels off the gold foil and takes a bite of the chocolate coin.
[Record scratching]
Bec says, OH! BACK ON THE NAUGHTY LIST. WHILE I FIX THIS, AND PACKAGE IT UP FOR AMELIA, HERE'S SOME OTHER IDEAS.
Bec finishes the chocolate coin.
[Upbeat music plays]
A pipe cleaner arm on a snowman Advent calendar made of recycled yogurt containers sways in a waving motion. The snowman has a carrot nose and a red scarf around its neck.
Bec narrates, HOW ABOUT A BRR-ILLIANT SNOWMAN, OR A FESTIVE STRIPEY-STOCKING?
Red and white pipe cleaners decorate a red and white stocking yogurt container calendar.
Bec narrates, SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE.
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
Later at Makeaway Takeaway, Bec slides a Makeaway Takeaway package onto a platform in the delivery hatch in the wall.
[Paper wrapping crackling]
Bec says, HO, HO, HO! HERE YOU GO, AMELIA! AN ADVENT TREAT!
Bec presses a button beside the hatch, and the platform rises.
[Beeping]
[Paint splattering]

Amelia says, WOW! THANKS, BEC!

By the table with a plate of mince pies, a carrot, and a glass of milk, Bec throws the sack of presents.
[Banging]
Bec dusts off her hands.
Bec says, THAT'S THE SLEIGH PACKED. MY JOB AS SANTA'S HELPER IS DONE!
Bec glances at the plate on the table.
Bec says, SANTA'S LEFT HIS TREATS.
Bec takes a seat at the table and says, I’M SURE HE WON'T MIND IF I HAVE A MINCE PIE.
Bec picks up and bites into one of the mince pies.
[Record scratching]
Bec says, UH-OH. BACK ON THE NAUGHTY LIST AGAIN.
Bec smiles and says, WORTH IT!
Bec takes another bite of mince pie.
[Phone ringing]
Bec says, MM!
Bec puts down the mince pie and says, THE BANANA PHONE!
Bec runs and grabs the banana phone off the Mega Mini Make table. She answers the phone.
[Beeping]
Bec says, HELLO, YOU'VE REACHED THE MERRY MAKEAWAY HOTLINE!
On the other end of the phone, a girl with long brown hair wears a pink and black zipper sweater.
The brown-haired girl says, HI, BEC, IT'S GRACIE. CAN YOU DELIVER A CHRISTMAS SURPRISE FOR OUR ICE SKATING COACH?
Bec says, 'SNOW BOTHER, I'LL BE RIGHT THERE!
Bec ends the call and puts down the banana phone.
[Beeping]
Bec leaves.

At an ice rink, a figure skater ties their skates. On the ice, Gracie and a figure skater with long, light brown hair spin.
From off the ice, Bec says, HI!
Bec waves. She wears her Makeaway Takeaway visor and a yellow and blue Makeaway Takeaway winter jacket. Gracie and the light-haired figure skater skate over to Bec.
[Skates scraping on ice]
Bec says, WOW! SO, YOU GUYS WANT ME TO DELIVER AN ARTY SURPRISE FOR YOUR ICE SKATING COACH.
The light-haired figure skater says, YES, PLEASE. WE'RE PART OF SOLIHULL FIGURE SKATING, AND THANKS TO STEPH, WE CAN MAKE GREAT ROUTINES.
In a video, figure skating students skate in a circle around Steph, a coach with shoulder-length wavy brown hair and glasses.
Gracie says, IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SURPRISE HER WITH SOMETHING SPECIAL.
Bec says, OH, IT WOULD, YES... AND SOMETHING CHRISTMAS-Y. OKAY, YOU COME UP WITH A ROUTINE, AND I'LL THINK OF SOMETHING TO SWEEP HER OFF HER FEET. SOMETHING COOL...
Bec looks thoughtful.
Bec says, LEAVE IT WITH ME!
Gracie nods and leaves with the light-haired figure skater. Bec walks away in the opposite direction. Later, in the ice rink, Bec holds up two ice sculpting tools and wears red rubber gloves.
Bec says, LET'S DO THIS!
Bec starts carving a large, tall block of ice on a dolly. She chips and scrapes at the ice. In a video, figure skating students skate around Steph.
In the video, Steph says, STRONG PUSHES! BEND...
The students glide across the ice.
Steph says, REALLY GOOD.
The students spin with their arms crossed over their chests. Bec continues scraping the block of ice. She looks at her small tool and shakes her head. Bec grins and picks up a chainsaw.
[Chainsaw buzzing]
Bec cuts chunks of ice off the large block with the chainsaw and draws lines into the ice.
[Chainsaw buzzing]
Bec cuts along the lines in the ice. Ice shavings fly off the block. Bec grabs her small tool and wedges it into a cut in the ice. She knocks large chunks of ice off the block.
[Ice clanging]
Bec shaves parts of the ice sculpture with the chainsaw, and it starts to form the shape of an animal.
[Chainsaw buzzing]
Bec lets out a breath and smiles. She smooths out the ice with a sander.
[Sander whirring]
Bec adds finishing touches to the base of the ice block below the sculpture.
[Ice scraping]
Bec adds an eye to her sculpture, a penguin. On the ice rink, a person skids to a stop.
[Ice scraping]
Later on the ice, a red blanket covers the sculpture. Gracie and a group of other figure skating students stand around the sculpture with Bec in their skates. The students wear holiday sweaters, hats and headbands.
Bec says, THIS SHOULD ADD AN EXTRA BIT OF PIZZAZ TO YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOW. SHOULD WE GET YOUR COACH?
The students all cheer, YES!
Gracie skates away from the sculpture.
[Paint splattering]
Later on the ice, Steph stands by the sculpture with Gracie in her skates.
Gracie says, STEPH, WE WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR US, AND I WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Steh says, OH, THANK YOU, GUYS!
Bec pulls the blanket off the ice sculpture.
[Steph gasping]
Steph says, WOW! THAT'S AMAZING. THANK YOU ALL.
Colourful lights shine through the base of the penguin ice sculpture.
Bec says, TAKE IT AWAY, GANG! COME WITH ME, STEPH.
Bec grabs Steph’s arm. The students begin their performance and skate around the ice sculpture. They spread their arms and skate on one foot. They spin and raise their arms.
Steph says, THANK YOU, GUYS, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
Steph and her students stand behind the ice sculpture with Bec.
Bec says, THAT WAS ANOTHER BRILLIANT DAY OF DELIVERING ART TO YOUR DOOR. SKATE YA NEXT TIME, ON...
Everyone says, …MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!

At Amelia’s house. Amelia unwraps her own Advent calendar tree.
Amelia says, WOW! THANKS, BEC!
At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec says, ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER.
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
[Beeping]
Bec leaves.
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
[Gentle music plays]
