[Magical music plays]

In an animation, the sun shines brightly over a field of dandelions. A guinea pig with long brown fur frolics through the grass. In live action, the guinea pig rests in their hutch, a large wooden cage on posts in the Sawdust family’s backyard. Mr. and Mrs. Sawdust stand by a gate in the fence, and Karen, a girl with long brown hair in braided pigtails, runs up to the hutch with a kite.

[Guinea pig squeaking]

[Cheerful music plays]

The guinea pig sings, I'M A GUINEA PIG SENSATION WITH A GREAT IMAGINATION. I'M OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

Facing Olga’s hutch, Noel, a black cat, lies on a small grassy hill with Graham, a small tortoise, and Fangio, a hedgehog. Mrs. Sawdust trims a bush. Mr. Sawdust builds a pen. Karen skips across the yard. Olga nibbles on a blade of grass beside Daisy, a black and white guinea pig. Noel swats at Olga from the roof of the hutch.

At the back door of the Sawdust’s house, Karen says, OLGA! DAISY! SNACKS!

Olga sings, MY HEAD IS FULL OF STORIES, OF DERRING-DO AND GLORIES, SO GATHER 'ROUND, AND LISTEN TO ME!

In animations, different guinea pigs face a fire-breathing dragon, stand on a podium with first-place medals and look up at a princess locked in a castle.

A crowd cheers, HOORAY!

In live-action, Graham says, AMAZING.

Noel says, RIDICULOUS!

Fangio says, INTERESTING!

Daisy says, OH!

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

Karen and her parents smile at Olga in the hutch. In the house, they pet Olga. In the backyard, Karen puts a carrot in Olga’s food bowl.

Olga sings, OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

[Olga squeaking]

Title: Olga da Polga. Based on the books by Michael Bond.

[Gentle music plays]

In live-action, in the present, the sun shines brightly on white and yellow flowers in a lush garden. The episode title reads, “The Pet Sitters.” In front of the guinea pig hutch, Noel jumps down from a tree stump. Colourful squares of fabric hang against the back fence. At the clear door of the hutch, Olga nibbles on a blade of grass.

Olga narrates, THERE ARE SO MANY WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT GUINEA PIGS. OUR WONDERFUL WHISKERS, OUR SILKY FUR.

Olga walks over to Daisy, lying on a pile of grass nearby.

Olga narrates, OUR ADORABLE SQUEAK.

[Guinea pig squeaks]

Olga narrates, YES, EVERYONE LOVES A GUINEA PIG. OR SO I THOUGHT. UNTIL THE TIME GRANNY SAWDUST CAME TO STAY.

In a live-action flashback, a light wind blows the squares of colourful fabric. Fangio strolls across a pile of dry, fallen leaves.

[Fangio singing]

Graham wanders across the yard.

[Graham humming]

In the kitchen of the Sawdust family’s house, a black-and-white photo shows a woman with short dark hair and a clean-shaven man smiling in the back of a car.

Mrs. Sawdust says, OH. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. TEN YEARS MARRIED. YOU HAVEN'T CHANGED A BIT.

Mrs. Sawdust stands at the kitchen island with Mr. Sawdust. She has long, light brown hair and wears a green and white-spotted short-sleeved blouse with sunglasses on her head. Mr. Sawdust has short, dark grey hair and a thick, grey beard and wears a blue button-down shirt unbuttoned over a red T-shirt.

Mr. Sawdust says, OH, APART FROM A FEW LITTLE EXTRAS.

Mr. Sawdust brushes his beard with his fingers.

[Mrs. Sawdust laughing]

Mrs. Sawdust kisses Mr. Sawdust’s cheek.

[Mr. Sawdust chuckling]

Karen walks into the kitchen and looks between Mr. and Mrs. Sawdust. Karen wears her long brown hair in braided pigtails and purple overalls over a pink long-sleeved shirt with orange polka dots.

Karen asks, WHEN'S GRANNY AND GRANDPA COMING?

Mrs. Sawdust says, ANY MINUTE NOW. YOU'VE JUST GOT ENOUGH TIME TO FEED OLGA AND DAISY. THERE'S SOME LETTUCE FOR GRAHAM THERE, TOO.

Karen says, OKAY.

She grabs a bowl off the kitchen counter and walks out the back door.

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

Mrs. Sawdust frowns. She and Mr. Sawdust share a look and furrow their brows.

Mrs. Sawdust says, LISTEN TO THOSE SQUEAKS.

Mr. Sawdust says, OH, I HOPE YOUR MUM'S OKAY WITH THE GUINEA PIGS. SHE'S NOT KEEN ON SMALL ANIMALS EVER SINCE SHE SAW THAT MOUSE IN HER KITCHEN CUPBOARD.

Mrs. Sawdust nods.

Mrs. Sawdust says, SHE NEARLY JUMPED OUT OF HER SKIN.

Mr. Sawdust asks, THE MOUSE OR YOUR MUM?

[Mr. and Mrs. Sawdust laughing]

Mrs. Sawdust shakes her head.

[Gentle music plays]

In the backyard, bold pink and purple flowers grow near the fence. Graham lies near a yellow dandelion. Karen sits on a stool beside the guinea pig hutch with Olga in her lap in a pet bed. In the hutch, Daisy stands by the food bowl. Karen pets Olga and looks in the hutch.

Karen says, YOU PIGGIES ARE GOING TO NEED TO BE ON YOUR VERY BEST BEHAVIOUR.

Olga nibbles on a piece of parsley. Daisy nibbles on a blade of grass.

Olga narrates, I WOULD HAVE ANSWERED BUT MY MOUTH WAS TOO FULL OF PARSLEY.

Karen continues, BECAUSE GRANNY AND GRANDPA ARE COMING TO LOOK AFTER US AND GRANNY DOESN'T LIKE SMALL FURRY THINGS.

Olga narrates, WELL, I COULD HARDLY BELIEVE MY EARS. NOT LIKE SMALL FURRY THINGS? I HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING.

[Olga squeaking]

Karen says, OH, OLGA, YOU'RE SO CUTE. HOW COULD ANYONE NOT LOVE YOU?

Olga narrates, EXACTLY! IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO LOVE A GUINEA PIG AND I WAS GOING TO SHOW KAREN'S GRANNY WHY.

[Gentle, upbeat music plays]

A green butterfly climbs around a purple flower. Graham wanders across the grassy hill in front of the guinea pig hutch. Noel climbs through his cat door. Fangio sniffs around potted plants behind the hutch and then joins Noel and Graham on the hill.

Olga says, SO, WE ARE GOING TO CHANGE GRANNY SAWDUST'S MIND.

Noel says, WE DON'T NEED TO DO ANYTHING. I HEARD THE SAWDUSTS TALKING. SHE ISN'T NERVOUS OF CATS OR TORTOISES. ONLY RODENTS.

Olga says, WELL, IT'S LUCKY THAT I'M A PIG THEN!

Noel says, NO, YOU'RE NOT. YOU'RE A RODENT. THE SAME AS A MOUSE OR A RAT. JUST WITHOUT THE TAIL.

Olga says, WHAT I AM, NOEL, IS A GUINEA PIG AND EVERYONE KNOWS WE ARE LIKE NO OTHER ANIMAL!

Fangio crawls down the hill.

Olga says, AT LEAST ACCORDING TO A, A… DR. GUINEABOROUGH.

Fangio lies in a pile of dry fallen leaves.

Fangio asks DOCTOR WHO?

Olga says, DR. GUINEABOROUGH. THE WORLD-FAMOUS ZOOLOGIST. HE WAS THE ONE WHO DISCOVERED US.

In the hutch bedroom, Daisy says, OH, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT.

Olga says, YES, IT ALL HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO IN A COUNTRY CALLED PERU.

[Magical music plays]

In an animated story, a person with short white hair wearing a blue polo shirt walks through a forest with a pair of binoculars.

[Intense music plays]

Olga narrates, DR. GUINEABOROUGH HAD SPENT HIS WHOLE LIFE TRAVELLING THE WORLD, LOOKING AT ALL SORTS OF ANIMALS.

Dr. Guineaborough, the white-haired person, looks around through his binoculars.

Olga narrates, BUT HE WAS IN SEARCH OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Dr. Guineaborough looks thoughtful. He walks up to a tiger lying in a tree.

[Tiger purring]

Olga narrates, SOMETHING THAT WAS SMALL ENOUGH TO HOLD.

The tiger leaps into Dr. Guineaborough’s arms, and they both fall. Elsewhere in the forest, Dr. Guineaborough watches a hedgehog nibble on a stick.

Olga narrates, SOFT ENOUGH TO STROKE.

Dr. Guineaborough touches the hedgehog’s quills and says, OH!

The hedgehog’s quills poke Dr. Guineaborough’s hand. Elsewhere in the forest, Dr. Guineaborough waves to a lion.

Olga narrates, AND WITH A BIG PERSONALITY.

[Lion roaring]

Dr. Guineaborough frowns. Elsewhere in the forest, Dr. Guineaborough looks sad.

Olga narrates, BUT HE COULDN'T FIND ONE ANIMAL THAT HAD ALL OF THESE QUALITIES UNTIL…

Dr. Guineaborough sits on a log.

[Dr. Guineaborough sighing sadly]

Olga narrates, …SITTING ALONE, HE HEARD A VERY DISTINCTIVE SOUND.

[Guinea pig squeaking]

Dr. Guineaborough says, HUH?

Dr. Guineaborough looks around. He pushes large leaves aside and finds a group of four guinea pigs in a small clearing.

[Guinea pigs squeaking with excitement]

The guinea pigs jump in Dr. Guineaborough’s arms and knock him over. The story ends.

In the live-action flashback, Olga says, HE NAMED US GUINEA PIGS AND CALLED US THE MOST LOVABLE ANIMAL IN THE WORLD.

Noel says, NOT TO KAREN'S GRANNY.

Olga says, WELL, DAISY AND I ARE GOING TO CHANGE THAT.

Graham asks, HOW, OLGA?

Olga says, JUST BY BEING GUINEA PIGS, OF COURSE.

Noel grumbles, HMPH.

He leaves the hill.

[Gentle music plays]

Later, in the driveway, Karen stands by Mr. and Mrs. Sawdust’s car with Granny and Grandpa Sawdust. Granny Sawdust has long white hair and bangs and wears a blue jacket with a matching blue cardigan over a floral blouse. Grandpa Sawdust has short grey hair and glasses and wears a maroon sweater.

Grandpa Sawdust says, JUST YOU TWO GO AND HAVE FUN! WE'LL BE FINE, WON'T WE, KAREN?

Karen says, YEP!

Mr. Sawdust sits in the car with Mrs. Sawdust.

Mr. Sawdust says, OKAY, WE'LL SEE YOU SOON. BYE!

Mrs. Sawdust waves and says, BYE!

Karen, Granny and Grandpa Sawdust say, BYE!

Mr. Sawdust starts the car and drives away. Karen and Grandpa Sawdust wave.

[Granny Sawdust sighing]

Granny Sawdust says, RIGHT. FIRST THINGS FIRST. WE'D BETTER UNPACK.

Grandpa Sawdust says, RIGHT. I'LL GO AND MEET THESE GUINEA PIGS KAREN'S ALWAYS TELLING US ABOUT.

Granny Sawdust says, OH, GUINEA PIGS.

Granny Sawdust shivers.

Karen says, THEY'RE REALLY NICE, GRANNY.

Granny Sawdust says, OH, I'M SURE THAT THEY ARE. BUT EVER SINCE I OPENED THAT CUPBOARD DOOR AND SAW THAT MOUSE BESIDE THE CEREAL, OH! ANYTHING SMALL AND FURRY GIVES ME THE HEEBIE-JEEBIES.

Grandpa Sawdust nods.

Granny Sawdust says, I'LL LEAVE YOU TWO TO IT.

Granny Sawdust walks away.

Grandpa Sawdust says, HMM.

Karen glances at Grandpa Sawdust, and they both shrug.

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

In the backyard, Fangio strolls alongside the box gardens.

[Fangio humming]

In the hutch, Olga nibbles on a blade of grass by the door. Daisy stands near the straw guinea pig hideaway tube. Karen walks up to the hutch with Grandpa Sawdust.

[Grandpa Sawdust chuckling]

Grandpa Sawdust says, OH! THEY'RE CERTAINLY CUTE LITTLE PIGGIES, AREN'T THEY?

[Grandpa Sawdust chuckling]

Karen says, THERE YOU GO, GRANDPA.

Karen hands Grandpa Sawdust a piece of parsley.

Grandpa Sawdust says, OH! THANK YOU!

Grandpa Sawdust crouches toward the hutch.

Grandpa Sawdust says, OLGA, LOOK!

Grandpa Sawdust pushes the parsley through fencing in a wall of the hutch. Olga munches on the parsley.

[Grandpa Sawdust chuckling]

Olga narrates, WELL, GRANDPA SAWDUST CERTAINLY SEEMED TO LIKE GUINEA PIGS.

Grandpa Sawdust looks at Karen and says, LET'S TAKE A PICTURE.

Karen nods. She stands in front of the hutch, and Grandpa Sawdust pulls out his phone.

Grandpa Sawdust says, AH. SAY "PIGGIES".

Karen says, PIGGIES!

Grandpa Sawdust takes a picture of Karen, Olga, and Daisy with his phone. Behind him, Noel sits on the grassy hill.

[Noel groaning]

[Camera shutter clicking]

Grandpa Sawdust says, OH!

[Grandpa Sawdust chuckling]

Grandpa Sawdust shows Karen the picture.

Karen says, I COULD SHOW THIS TO GRANNY! THEN SHE'LL LIKE THEM!

Grandpa Sawdust nods and says, SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN!

Karen nods and turns toward the house. On the grassy hill, Graham lies in the sun.

[Graham yawning]

Grandpa Sawdust walks over to the hill.

Grandpa Sawdust asks, WHAT DO YOU SAY, GRAHAM? TIME FOR AN AFTERNOON NAP?

Grandpa Sawdust pets Graham and follows Karen back toward the house. On the stone patio with the guinea pig hutch, Noel glances over his shoulder.

[Noel sighing in annoyance]

Behind the hill, Grandpa Sawdust sits in a lawn chair and puts on a hat.

[Grandpa Sawdust sighing in relaxation]

Grandpa Sawdust crosses his arms and closes his eyes. In the hutch, Olga takes a piece of a carrot out of the food bowl and scurries from the door. In the house, Granny Sawdust walks into the kitchen.

[Granny Sawdust sighing]

Granny Sawdust says, RIGHT! UNPACKING DONE. WHAT'S NEXT?

Granny Sawdust looks around the kitchen.

Granny Sawdust says, OH, TEA!

Granny Sawdust steps around the kitchen island, and Karen runs inside through the back door with Grandpa Sawdust’s phone.

Karen says, GRANNY! COME AND LOOK AT THE PICTURE OF THE GUINEA PIGS.

Karen holds out the phone.

Granny Sawdust says, OH. ALL RIGHT.

Granny Sawdust puts on her glasses and joins Karen at the kitchen island. She looks at Grandpa Sawdust’s phone.

Granny Sawdust says, OH! THEY DON'T LOOK AT ALL LIKE MICE.

[Karen giggling]

[Granny Sawdust chuckling]

Granny Sawdust looks at a picture of Olga and Daisy inside the hutch.

Granny Sawdust says, AND THEY'VE GOT LOVELY FUR.

Karen says, THAT'S OLGA AND THE OTHER ONE'S DAISY.

Karen points to Olga and Daisy in the picture.

Karen says, PLEASE COME AND SEE THEM.

Granny Sawdust says, OH, NO, NO, NO.

Granny Sawdust takes off her glasses.

Granny Sawdust says, I'VE GOT THINGS TO DO.

Karen says, JUST A WEE LOOK FOR THE DOOR!

Granny Sawdust says, OH…

Granny Sawdust looks nervous.

Granny Sawdust says, OKAY THEN.

Karen says, YES!

Granny Sawdust says, JUST FOR YOU.

Karen takes Granny Sawdust’s hand.

Karen says, COME ON!

Karen leads Granny Sawdust toward the door.

Granny Sawdust says, OKAY.

In the backyard, Graham lies in the sun on the grassy hill.

[Door opening]

Grandpa Sawdust sleeps in the lawn chair behind the hill.

Graham says, AMAZING. HE HASN'T MOVED AT ALL.

In a corner of the hutch, Olga says, HE'S THE PERFECT SAWDUST FOR YOU, GRAHAM.

In the middle of the yard, Karen points toward the hutch.

Karen says, THERE'S OLGA, GRANNY. DO YOU SEE HER?

Granny Sawdust says, MM-HMM.

Olga narrates, FINALLY, GRANNY SAWDUST HAD COME OUT AND IT WAS TIME TO SHOW HER JUST HOW LOVABLE GUINEA PIGS REALLY WERE.

Olga scurries over to the food bowl near the door and nibbles on a blade of grass.

Karen says, COME ON, GRANNY.

She pulls Granny Sawdust over the small hill and toward the hutch. Olga looks up from a piece of hay. Granny Sawdust looks inside the hutch.

Granny Sawdust says, OH, MY. SHE'S VERY LIVELY.

Olga scurries around the hutch.

[Olga squeaking]

Karen shrugs and says, SHE RUNS LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME. IT MEANS SHE HAPPY.

Olga climbs inside the straw tube.

Olga narrates, IT WAS WORKING! NOW, I NEEDED TO DO MY NEXT BIT OF GUINEA PIGGERY. SNUGGLING IN MY TUBE.

Olga sticks her head out a window in the straw tube.

[Olga squeaking]

Karen opens the wooden door to the hutch bedroom.

Granny Sawdust says, OH.

Granny Sawdust puts on her glasses.

Granny Sawdust asks, WHAT ON EARTH IS THAT ONE UP TO?

Daisy lies in a pile of hay.

[Daisy squeaking]

Karen says, THEY SLEEP IN THE HAY. THAT'S DAISY.

Granny Sawdust says, OH! SHE'S VERY SWEET.

Granny Sawdust smiles and takes off her glasses.

Karen asks, DO YOU WANT TO GIVE OLGA A TREAT?

Granny Sawdust nervously says, OH, NO, NO, NO. I'VE GOT SOME THINGS –

Karen interrupts and says, JUST HOLD IT LIKE THIS.

Karen gives Granny Sawdust a piece of parsley.

Granny Sawdust says, OH.

Granny Sawdust looks nervous. By the food bowl, Olga nibbles on a blade of grass.

Olga narrates, NOW, IT WAS TIME FOR MY BIG PARTY PIECE WHERE NO ONE COULD RESIST. THE GUINEA PIG SQUEAK!

Granny Sawdust slowly lowers the parsley toward the hutch.

[Anticipatory music plays]

Granny Sawdust slides a parsley leaf to Olga through the fenced wall.

[Olga squeaking]

[Granny Sawdust yelping]

Granny Sawdust lets go of the parsley and pulls her hand away.

[Granny Sawdust whimpering]

Granny Sawdust puts her hands on her chest. Grandpa Sawdust jolts awake and waves his arms around.

[Grandpa Sawdust grunting]

Grandpa Sawdust asks, WHAT WAS THAT?

Grandpa Sawdust looks around the yard.

Karen asks, ARE YOU OKAY, GRANNY?

Olga narrates, I WAS WORRIED I'D GONE TOO FAR.

[Granny Sawdust laughing]

Granny Sawdust says, THAT IS THE FUNNIEST SOUND I HAVE EVER HEARD.

[Granny Sawdust laughing]

Karen offers Granny Sawdust another piece of parsley.

[Olga squeaking]

[Granny Sawdust laughing]

Grandpa Sawdust walks over to the hutch.

Karen says, THEY ALWAYS DO THAT WHEN THEY SEE FOOD.

Granny Sawdust says, OH.

Grandpa Sawdust puts his hand on Granny Sawdust’s back.

Granny Sawdust says, THERE YOU GO, OLGA.

Grandpa Sawdust says, OH!

Granny Sawdust says, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT?

Granny Sawdust feeds Olga the second piece of parsley.

Olga narrates, WELL, REALLY, THERE WAS ONLY ONE THING A GUINEA PIG COULD SAY.

Olga stuffs her cheeks with parsley.

Olga cheers, WEE!

[Olga squeaking]

[Karen, Grandpa and Granny Sawdust laughing]

Granny Sawdust puts her arms around Karen and Grandpa Sawdust.

[Gentle music plays]

The wind gently blows the squares of fabric hanging on the fence. In the middle of the yard, Noel lies in the sun.

[Noel groaning]

Olga narrates, NOW, GRANNY AND GRANDPA SAWDUST COME AROUND NEARLY EVERY SUNDAY TO SEE US.

In the present, Olga nibbles on a blade of grass.

Olga narrates, WELL, WE ARE THE MOST LOVABLE ANIMALS IN THE WORLD.

[Olga giggling]

[Playful music plays]
