[Groovy music plays]

Carl, a young raccoon, sits among a collection of animal plushies in his bedroom.

Singers sing, YES! IT'S CARL! THE COLLECTOR!

Carl jumps out from the pile of animal plushies. He wears a black, white and grey sweater vest over a mustard-yellow short-sleeved polo shirt. At a table, Carl smells a green pickle sticker from his sticker collection.

The singers sing, IT'S CARL, IT'S CARL, ABSO-LUTE-LY!

Carl imagines himself flying over an ocean of pickle juice on two slices of pickle. On a park trail, he rides his teal bike wearing a matching teal helmet.

The singers sing, CARL! IT’S CARL! THE COLLECTOR!

Carl’s friends follow him down the trail, all wearing helmets. Sheldon, a beaver wearing a green plaid shirt, rides a green bike with Forrest, a grey squirrel wearing a white T-shirt, on his back. Arugula and Nico, pink rabbits wearing matching mustard-yellow dresses, ride on either side of Sheldon. Arugula rides a bike, and Nico rides a skateboard.

The singers sing, IT'S CARL! IT'S CARL! THE COLLECTOR!

Carl and his friends ride up to Pyramid Pizza and join Lotta, a fox wearing a teal jumpsuit. Everyone holds up jars of collected items, including toy trucks, nuts and bolts, watches and pom-poms.

The singers chant, CARL! CARL! CARL! CARL! CARL! THE COLLECTOR!

The title reads, “Carl the Collector. Created by Zachariah Ohora.” In his bedroom, Carl puts a jar with the episode title on a cube shelf. He reads the title.

Carl says, THE ROPE COLLECTION.

[Synthesizer jazz music plays]

Asleep in his bed surrounded by animal plushies, Carl hugs a black cat stuffie. He slowly wakes up, opens his eyes and stretches.

[Carl yawning]

Carl looks around his room at all his collections organized in cube shelves. Carl walks across the room toward shelves with cassettes, a jar of marbles, a row of small toy trucks and a pile of ropes.

Carl says, GOOD MORNING, MARBLES! LOOKIN' AS ROUND AND MARBLY AS EVER. GOOD MORNING, TINY TRUCKS. ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE. ALL HERE.

Carl points to each of the toy trucks.

Carl says, ROPE COLLECTION, A GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOO!

Carl steps away from the marble, truck and rope collections. He pauses and frowns. He looks down at a blue rope wrapped around his ankles. Carl pulls on the rope and stumbles.

Carl says, WHOA-OH-OH-OH, AHH.

Carl hops across the room on one foot and falls.

Carl grunts, OOF.

The blue rope wraps around Carl’s waist.

[Carl giggling]

Carl stands and says, ROPE, YOU'RE SO TANGLY!

Carl untangles himself from the rope and walks over to the shelf, where he stores his rope collection.

Carl looks at the blue rope and says, HMM. THIS MIGHT COME IN HANDY. I BETTER HOLD ONTO IT.

Carl walks away to another shelf of collected items and pats his sticker collection.

Carl says, HELLO, STICKERS! HELLO, RUBBER BALLS. HELLO, POLISHED ROCKS. HELLO, STAMPS ISSUED BEFORE 1973. HELLO, WHISTLES.

Carl walks around his bed and looks up at his glow-in-the-dark galaxy stickers on the ceiling.

Carl says, AHH, GOOD MORNING.

From outside the room, Carl’s Mama calls out, CARL! BREAKFAST!

Carl says, BREAKFAST! YES! COMING, MAMA!

Carl runs into the kitchen wearing his sweater vest and yellow polo shirt.

Carl says, BREAKFAST, YES!

Carl climbs onto a chair at the kitchen table. He straightens a box of cereal, a jug of milk, a plate of four blueberries, a spoon and a bowl. He grabs the box of cereal and fills his bowl.

[Cereal rattling]

A packaged whistle falls out of the cereal box onto the cereal.

[Carl gasping]

Carl says, THE CEREAL TOY! A FUZZY O'S WHISTLE TO ADD TO MY WHISTLE COLLECTION LATER!

Carl takes an orange whistle on a blue string out of its packaging. He blows the whistle.

[Whistle whistling]

Carl pours milk over his cereal and scoops up a spoonful.

Carl says, BITE ONE.

Carl eats a spoonful of cereal.

Carl says, BLUEBERRY ONE.

Carl eats a single blueberry. He eats another spoonful of cereal and another blueberry.

Carl says, BITE TWO. BLUEBERRY TWO.

[Doorbell ringing]

Carl frowns. He eats another spoonful of cereal and another blueberry.

Carl says, BITE THREE. BLUEBERRY THREE.

Carl’s Mama calls out, CARL, IT'S SHELDON!

Carl frowns. He eats another spoonful of cereal and another blueberry.

Carl says, BITE FOUR. BLUEBERRY FOUR.

Carl drops his spoon into his bowl and says, AHH, BREAKFAST.

Carl hops out of his chair and starts to walk away.

Carl’s Mama calls out, DON'T FORGET YOUR DISHES, CARL.

Carl runs back to the table. He grabs his dishes and puts them in the sink.

Carl says, THANK YOU, MAMA!

Carl meets Sheldon at the front door.

Carl says, SHELDON! GOOD MORNING!

Sheldon says, CARL! I KNOW IT'S YOUR BREAKFAST TIME, BUT I COULDN'T WAIT TO SHOW YOU! DA-DA-DAA!

Sheldon turns toward his bike in the front yard, along with the attached trailer full of wood and tools.

Sheldon says, EXTRA WOOD LEFT OVER FROM MY DAD'S PROJECT! HE SAID WE CAN HAVE IT!

Carl says, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?

Carl and Sheldon cheer, TREE FORT!

Carl and Sheldon high-five with both paws and wave their arms and tails.

Carl says, I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO BUILD A TREE FORT!

Sheldon says, I KNOW! ME TOO! EVERYONE'S ON THEIR WAY OVER!

Carl sticks his head inside the house and says, MOM, I'M GONNA BUILD A TREE FORT IN THE BACKYARD!

Carl’s Mama says, OKAY, HONEY, HAVE FUN – AND BE CAREFUL, OKAY?

Carl says, OKAY, MAMA!

Carl closes the door. In the backyard, he faces Lotta, Nico, Arugula and Sheldon. Sheldon’s trailer of extra wood and tools is parked nearby.

Carl says, FRIENDS! AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED SOMETHING WAS MISSING FROM MY BACKYARD. AND TODAY, AT LONG LAST, THE TIME HAS COME TO CONSTRUCT THAT VERY THING!

Carl holds up a piece of wood from Sheldon’s trailer.

Lotta, Nico, Arugula and Sheldon cheer, A TREE FORT! YES!

Forrest rolls into the backyard on roller skates wearing a rainbow-coloured helmet.

Forrest asks, DID SOMEONE JUST SAY TREE FORT?

Forrest stops in front of her friends.

Sheldon says, YES, FORREST. WE'RE GOING TO BUILD THE ULTIMATE TREE FORT!

Arugula says, AND WE HAVE THE BEST TEAM TO DO IT! TEAM TREE FORT!

[Everyone cheering]

Forrest skates around Sheldon’s trailer and leaps into the air.

Forrest says, OH, I CAN'T WAIT TO START BUILDING!

Lotta says, HEY, I CAN COME UP WITH SOME REALLY GOOD DESIGNS FOR THE INSIDE!

Lotta pulls out a notebook and a pencil.

Sheldon says, AND I'LL SCOPE OUT THE MOST TREE FORT-WORTHY TREE!

Carl says, THERE IS NO NEED. I KNOW EXACTLY HOW OUR TREE FORT SHOULD BE. IT IS GOING TO GO IN THAT TREE RIGHT THERE AND IT IS GOING TO HAVE A FLOOR, FOUR WALLS, A ROOF, A WINDOW, SIX PLACES TO SIT, AND SOME SHELVES FOR COLLECTIONS.

Carl carries a hammer and a piece of wood toward a smaller tree with light green leaves.

Carl says, LET US BEGIN!

Carl’s friends frown.

Forrest says, HUH? WHAT ABOUT TEAM TREE FORT?

Carl works on building the floor of a tree fort by himself in the smaller tree. He hammers a wooden plank between two others.

[Carl hammering]

Sheldon says, CARL, BUDDY, THERE MIGHT BE A BETTER BUILDING SPOT IN THAT TREE.

Carl glances across the yard at a larger, taller tree with dark green leaves.

Sheldon asks, DO YOU WANT TO CHECK OUT SOME OTHER SPOTS?

Carl says, NO, THANKS, SHELDON. THIS IS THE TREE. THIS IS GONNA BE GREAT!

Lotta joins Sheldon and says, CARL, MAYBE WE SHOULD START BY SKETCHING OUT THE FORT FIRST, SO WE CAN PLAN OUT HOW THE FORT WILL LOOK.

Carl says, THAT'S OKAY, LOTTA. I ALREADY KNOW EXACTLY HOW THE FORT WILL LOOK.

Nico and Arugula join Sheldon and Lotta. Arugula carries a toolbox.

Arugula says, WE MIGHT WANT TO GATHER ALL THE TOOLS BEFORE WE START, CARL. THAT WAY WE KNOW WHAT WE HAVE TO WORK WITH.

Carl says, I ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED UP HERE, ARUGULA.

Nico says, BUT WE'RE A TREE FORT BUILDING TEAM! AND AS PART OF THIS TEAM, I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE A TEAM MEETING FIRST.

In her running shoes, Forrest walks up beside Lotta.

Forrest says, I'M WITH NICO. SHOULDN'T WE ALL DECIDE TOGETHER ABOUT HOW OUR FORT WILL LOOK?

Nico, Arugula, Sheldon and Lotta say, YEAH! YOU'RE RIGHT! LET'S MAKE A PLAN.

Sheldon says, WE'RE A TEAM!

Carl says, I KNOW EXACTLY HOW A TREE FORT SHOULD BE, AND EXACTLY HOW IT SHOULD BE BUILT. BELIEVE ME, YOU'RE ALL GONNA LOVE IT WHEN IT'S FINISHED.

Carl grabs a nail.

Nico says, WELL, I GUESS CARL'S A TEAM OF ONE. NOT THAT THAT'S A THING.

Sheldon says, CARL, REMEMBER, WE WANTED TO BUILD AS TEAM TREE FORT TOGETHER.

Carl says, BUT I REALLY KNOW HOW I WANT IT TO LOOK. I CAN'T ABANDON MY PLAN NOW.

Carl hammers a nail into a wooden board.

[Hammering]

Sheldon says, CARL'S IN HIS CARL ZONE RIGHT NOW. LET'S JUST GIVE HIM SPACE TO DO HIS THING. I JUST HOPE CARL KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING UP THERE ALL BY HIMSELF.

Sheldon, Lotta, Forrest, Nico and Arugula walk away. On a string, Carl’s hammer falls toward the ground.

Carl calls down, I DO!

The hammer is pulled toward Carl’s fort.

Elsewhere in the yard, Nico says, MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST BUILD OUR OWN TREE FORT NOW?

Forrest says, YES! BUILD OUR OWN FORT!

Nico says, OKAY, TEAM. LET'S DO THIS!

Everyone smiles.

[Funky upbeat music plays]

Lotta sketches a tree fort design. She sits at a picnic table with Forrest, Nico, Arugula and Sheldon. Carl collects a stack of wooden planks from Sheldon’s trailer. He stumbles and falls. Sheldon points toward the larger, taller tree with dark green leaves, and Lotta, Forrest, Nico and Arugula nod. The five friends put their paws together. In the smaller tree, Carl hammers a nail into a board.

[Carl hammering]

In the larger tree, on the floor of a tree fort, Sheldon hammers a floorboard. Nico moves a pillow. Forrest sticks a flag in a corner of the fort. Lotta and Arugula set up a ladder. Star party lights hang from the tree.

[Sheldon hammering]

Carl adds another wooden board to the floor of his tree fort. In the larger tree, Sheldon sweeps the floor. Forrest sticks stars on the tree. Lotta puts a cup of pencils on a table wrapped around the tree. Nico places pillows on a bench against part of the railing that wraps around the tree. Later in the day, Sheldon, Lotta, Forrest, Nico and Arugula enjoy their large tree fort.

Forrest says, WOW!

Nico and Arugula say, WOW!

Lotta says, I LOVE IT!

Sheldon says, COOL!

In the smaller tree, a single window in the small wooden box that is Carl’s tree fort faces the larger tree fort. Inside the box, Carl hammers a nail into a board.

[Hammering]

Carl walks around his tree fort and smiles.

From the larger tree fort, someone says, YEAH!

[Laughing]

Carl walks over to his window and looks outside.

Carl says, WHOA!

[Laughing]

Lotta says, EPIC!

Forrest says, AHH!

One of the twins says, WOW! SO COOL!

Forrest says, WE DID A GREAT JOB.

Carl says, I'LL BE RIGHT THERE!

Carl runs to the other side of his tree fort and frowns at a solid wall.

Carl says, OH, NO! I FORGOT TO ADD A DOOR!

Carl runs back to the window and says, UM, I SEEM TO BE STUCK INSIDE AND WITH NO WAY OUT!

One of the twins says, WE DID AMAZING!

Sheldon says, WE DID SO GOOD!

Lotta says, IT’S AMAZING.

Carl frowns and says, FRIENDS? FRIENDS?!

Carl looks worried. He starts breathing rapidly.

[Carl panting]

Carl’s view of his friends blurs.

[Carl breathing heavily]

Carl steps back from the window and wiggles his fingers.

Carl says to himself, WHAT...AM I...GOING...TO DO?!

[Heartbeat rapidly thumping]

Carl paces and rubs his paws together.

Carl says, IT'S OKAY, CARL. MAMA WOULD SAY, "TAKE SOME BELLY BREATHS."

Carl puts one paw on his belly and the other on his chest.

[Heartbeat rapidly thumping]

Carl says, BREATHE IN FOR FOUR.

Carl closes his eyes and counts, ONE. TWO. THREE. FOUR.

[Heartbeat starting to slow]

Carl opens his eyes and says, HOLD FOR TWO. ONE. TWO.

[Heartbeat thumping slowly]

Carl says, OUT FOR FOUR, SLOWLY. ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR.

[Magical music plays]

Carl runs to the window, and the view of his friends clears.

Carl says, BETTER. NOW, HOW DO I GET MY FRIENDS' ATTENTION?

Carl furrows his brow.

Carl smiles and says, I KNOW! MY FUZZY O'S WHISTLE!

Carl pulls out his Fuzzy O’s whistle. In the larger tree fort, Sheldon, Nico, Arugula, Forrest, and Lotta walk around.

[Whistle blowing]

Everyone in the larger tree fort stops and turns toward Carl’s tree fort.

[Whistle blowing]

Sheldon says, CARL?

At the window of his tree fort, Carl says, HEY! HELP! I'M STUCK! I FORGOT TO PLAN FOR A DOOR! WOULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME?

Sheldon nods and says, OF COURSE!

Forrest says, BE RIGHT THERE!

Forrest rushes down the ladder with Sheldon, Lotta, Nico and Arugula. They all run over to the smaller tree with Carl’s tree fort.

Sheldon asks, CARL, HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

Carl says, I DON'T KNOW! I JUST NEED TO FIND A WAY DOWN! WAIT, I KNOW!

Carl’s eyes widen. He pulls out the blue rope from his rope collection.

Carl says, THE ROPE FROM MY ROPE COLLECTION! I'LL USE IT TO CLIMB DOWN.

Carl ties knots in the rope and ties it around the tree. He pulls the rope tight and drops the other end out the window.

Carl says, I HAD A FEELING THIS WOULD COME IN HANDY!

Sheldon says, YES!

Forrest says, GREAT IDEA, CARL!

Nico says, YAY CARL!

Lotta says, WAY TO GO!

Arugula says, GREAT IDEA!

Nico says, LET'S PUT SOME SOFT PILLOWS ON THE GROUND TO BE SAFE.

Forrest says, ON IT!

Forrest runs and grabs four pillows. She lays out the pillows under the rope.

[Carl inhaling sharply]

Carl climbs out the window and down the rope.

[Suspenseful music plays]

Halfway down the rope, Carl misses a step and the rope swings.

[Carl gasping]

Carl glances toward his friends.

Sheldon and Lotta say, WE'RE HERE FOR YOU!

Lotta adds, YOU CAN DO IT!

Forrest says, WE’RE HERE FOR YOU!

Carl stops swinging.

[Carl exhaling]

Near the bottom of the rope, Carl jumps onto the pillows.

Sheldon, Forrest, Lotta, Nico and Arugula cheer, WAY TO GO, CARL!

Carl says, THAT WAS SCARY. I PANICKED AND DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Sheldon says, IT'S OKAY BUDDY. ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?

Carl says, I GUESS I'M OKAY.

Carl looks toward the larger tree fort and says, WOW! YOU FINISHED YOUR TREE FORT!

Sheldon says, YEAH! COME ON, WE'LL SHOW YOU!

In the larger tree fort, Carl looks around.

Carl says, OH. THIS IS NOT ONLY WELL THOUGHT OUT, BUT SO PLEASING TO
THE EYE! WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS?

Nico says, ALL OF OURS.

Sheldon says, SEE, LOTTA SKETCHED OUT DIFFERENT DESIGNS IN HER NOTEBOOK. AND ARUGULA MADE SURE WE HAD ALL THE TOOLS WE NEEDED.

Lotta holds up her notebook. Arugula holds up a hammer and a pencil.

Sheldon says, AND FORREST IS REALLY FAST WITH THE HAMMERING AND BUILDING. AND NICO COLLECTED ALL THE PARTY LIGHTS AND PILLOWS.

Forrest grabs the hammer and pencil from Arugula. Nico holds up a string of party lights and a pillow.

Arugula says, AND SHELDON FOUND THE PERFECT SPOT.

Nico says, WE DO MAKE A PRETTY GOOD TEAM!

Carl says, YOU SURE DO! AND I WAS NOT A PART OF IT. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE A TEAM AND I DID NOT LISTEN TO ANYONE ELSE'S IDEAS BUT MY OWN.

Sheldon says, IT'S OKAY, CARL. I KNOW YOU WERE JUST TRYING TO MAKE SOMETHING GREAT FOR US.

Carl says, YOUR TREE FORT IS AN ARCHITECTURAL MASTERPIECE, AND MINE, ADEQUATE AT BEST.

Forrest says, WELL, WE DID A GREAT JOB WITH THE FORT'S DESIGN AND BUILD. BUT, I LOVE YOURS TOO!

Sheldon says, YEAH, IT'S REALLY COOL. IF ONLY THERE WAS A WAY TO CONNECT THE TREE FORTS TOGETHER.

Carl looks thoughtful.

Carl says, HMM. I HAVE AN IDEA.

He walks over to the railing and faces his fort.

Carl says, I THINK WE CAN DO THAT WITH A ROPE BRIDGE.

Lotta says, OOOOH! LOVE IT! I'M ON IT!

Lotta draws in her notebook.

Forrest says, I'D LOVE TO BUILD A ROPE BRIDGE!

Arugula says, MAYBE THE ROPE BRIDGE CAN BE LOTS OF COLORS!

Nico says, WE'RE GONNA NEED A LOT OF ROPE.

Carl says, I KNOW WHERE WE CAN GET MORE ROPE!

Later in the backyard, Sheldon and Carl cross a wooden floor bridge with a rope railing made of different coloured ropes. Forrest follows and jumps up and down in the middle of the bridge.

Forrest says, LOOK! WE TURNED TWO TREE FORTS INTO ONE ULTIMATE TEAM TREE FORT!

Lotta stands on the bridge with Forrest. The bridge connects the larger tree fort to the window of Carl’s smaller tree fort.

Lotta says, THIS TREE FORT IS EVEN BETTER THAN WE COULD HAVE IMAGINED.

Arugula jumps out of the smaller tree fort window.

Arugula says, BOO!

Lotta jumps back in surprise.

Arugula says, GOTCHA!

[Lotta and Arugula giggling]

Arugula climbs onto the bridge and says, AND CARL'S HIDEOUT IS THE BEST!

Nico walks onto the bridge and says, I GOTTA SAY, MY FAVORITE PART OF THE WHOLE THING MIGHT BE THE ROPE BRIDGE.

In the larger tree fort, Sheldon says, THANKS FOR GIVING US THE ROPE FROM YOUR ROPE COLLECTION, BUDDY.

Forrest and Nico join Sheldon and Carl.

Carl says, I'M JUST HAPPY TO BE PART OF THE TEAM.

Nico nudges Carl and says, WAY TO TIE EVERYTHING TOGETHER, CARL! GET IT?
TIE?

Arugula and Lotta join their friends.

Carl says, YES, BECAUSE OF MY ROPE.

[Others giggling]

Carl says, AND I HAVE SOMETHING ELSE FOR OUR TEAM! TEAM TREEHOUSE WHISTLES!

Carl pulls out 5 Fuzzy O whistles.

Carl says, PERFECT FOR EMERGENCIES!

Nico, Arugula, Forrest, Lotta and Sheldon each grab a whistle.

Nico, Arugula, Forrest and Lotta say, THANKS!

Sheldon cheers, YES!

Sheldon puts a whistle around his neck.

Sheldon says, LET'S HEAR IT FOR WORKING TOGETHER!

Lotta puts a pair of earplugs in her ears and gives a thumbs up. She, Nico, Arugula, Forrest and Sheldon run around the fort blowing their whistles. Carl smiles.

[Whistles whistling]

Carl says, AHHH, TEAM TREE FORT.

Carl blows his orange Fuzzy O whistle and joins his friends. He runs across the bridge toward the smaller fort, the hideout.

[Whistles whistling]
