Transcript: The Glitter Dragon
At night, the stars and full moon shine above the Moon family’s mansion. Isadora Moon, a young half-vampire, half-fairy girl with long black hair, pointy ears, pink bat wings and vampire fangs, wears a light purple cardigan over a light pink dress with black stars.
[Upbeat music plays]
A singer sings, ISADORA MOON THE ONE AND ONLY, HERE I GO. I'M TOTALLY UNIQUE AND EXTRA-STARRY.
Isadora spins and waves her star wand.
The singer sings, WAVING MY WAND, FLYING FEARLESSLY, YEAH IT'S YOUR GIRL, ISADORA.
Isadora’s fairy mom, Cordelia, and vampire dad, Bartholomew, join Isadora. Cordelia has long, wavy pink hair, pointy ears and green wings. She wears a flower crown and a green cardigan over a pink dress. Bartholomew has short black hair and wears a black and purple cape with a striped, grey suit vest.
The singer sings, A LITTLE BIT OF BOTH. HALF A VAMPIRE, HALF A FAIRY.
Isadora flies over her neighbourhood with Pink Rabbit, a stuffed toy that comes to life.
The singer sings, READY FOR A NEW EXCITING JOURNEY!
Isadora dives into the ocean. Text reads, “Written by Stephanie Wahlstrom. Theme Song by Helen Park.”
The singer sings, SPARKLY AND EXTRAORDINARY.
Isadora swims underwater as a mermaid and transforms into a black cat. Text reads, “Series Director William Gordon. Showrunner Deborah Thorpe.”
The singer sings, YEAH, THAT'S ME, ISADORA WATCH ME BE.
Isadora flies around the show title and waves her wand. Text reads, “Isadora Moon. Based on the Isadora Moon books and characters by Harriet Muncaster.”
[Gentle, cheerful music plays]
The episode title reads, “The Glitter Dragon.” Outside the Moon family mansion, the sun begins to set.
[Isadora giggling]
Inside, Isadora flies into her bedroom. Pink Rabbit runs in after her with Isadora’s witch cousin, Mirabelle. A cloud air mattress lies on the floor near Isadora’s bed.
Mirabelle says, THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST HALF-TERM EVER!
Isadora says, MIRABELLE, LOOK WHAT MUM MADE FOR YOU!
Mirabelle says, LIKE I SAID, BEST HALF-TERM EVER!
Mirabelle bounces on the cloud mattress.
[Isadora giggling]
Mirabelle says, WHOA.
[Isadora giggling]
Mirabelle asks, WHAT HAVE YOU GOT PLANNED? SHALL WE MAKE A POTION THAT WILL TURN US INTO OWLS? THEN WE CAN STAY UP ALL NIGHT, FLYING IN THE GARDEN!
Pink Rabbit raises an eyebrow. Isadora grabs her backpack from the window bench.
Isadora says, UM, I CAN'T STAY UP ALL NIGHT. I HAVE MY LAST DAY OF SCHOOL TOMORROW.
Mirabelle joins Isadora and says, RIGHT. I FORGOT.
Isadora says, BUT WE CAN DO THAT FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK!
Mirabelle says, GREAT!
Isadora pulls a note out of her backpack and frowns.
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora says, OH, NO. I TOTALLY FORGOT. IT'S BRING YOUR PET TO SCHOOL DAY TOMORROW! UM, OKAY. MAYBE I CAN BRING ONE OF DAD'S BATS.
Isadora stuffs the note in her backpack and paces.
Isadora says, NO. IT'LL PROBABLY JUST SLEEP THE WHOLE TIME.
Mirabelle says, I'VE GOT AN EVEN BETTER IDEA. WHY DON'T I JUST MAKE YOU A PET?
Pink Rabbit frowns.
Isadora asks, HOW CAN YOU MAKE ME A PET?
Mirabelle pulls out her bag and says, TA-DA! I'LL JUST MAGIC YOU UP THE MOST AMAZING PET THAT NOBODY IN YOUR CLASS HAS EVER SEEN BEFORE.
[Mirabelle gasping]
Mirabelle says, LIKE A DRAGON!
Isadora says, A DRAGON? WHAT IF IT STARTS A FIRE AT SCHOOL?
Mirabelle says, I'LL MAKE ONE THAT BREATHES STARS AND GLITTER! PLEASE?
Isadora says, UM…
Mirabelle says, A CUTE LITTLE BABY GLITTER DRAGON. IT'LL BE SO MUCH FUN!
Isadora says, THAT DOES SOUND VERY CUTE AND VERY FUN. OKAY. JUST A LITTLE TINY BABY GLITTER DRAGON?
Pink Rabbit runs away, dives under the bed and hides. Mirabelle sets down her mini cauldron and places her bag on the bench. She opens the bag and takes out a vial of green liquid. Mirabelle gently shakes the vial, then takes out the cork.
[Sloshing]
Mirabelle says, A DASH OF DRAGON FLOWER, FOUR PINCHES OF CUTENESS POWDER, AND A SPRINKLE OF GLITTER AND STARS.
Mirabelle adds a splash of the blue liquid, Dragon Flower, and other ingredients from her bag to the cauldron. In the cauldron, a potion bubbles.
[Bubbling]
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora looks in the cauldron and says, OH, HE'S SO SWEET!
Mirabelle says, I KNOW.
A tiny blue dragon with green wings sleeps in the cauldron. Isadora picks up the dragon.
Isadora whispers, OKAY. WE SHOULD GET READY FOR BED. WE'VE GOT A BIG DAY AT SCHOOL TOMORROW.
[Gentle music plays]
Outside, night turns to day. Asleep in bed with Pink Rabbit, Isadora wakes up wearing purple bat pyjamas. She sits up and looks around, then frowns.
Isadora says, HEY. WHERE DID HE GO?
Isadora looks in the now-empty cauldron.
[Mirabelle snoring]
Mirabelle lies asleep on the cloud mattress, wearing black star pyjamas. Isadora taps Mirabelle’s arm and wakes her up.
Isadora says, MIRABELLE! THE DRAGON! HE'S GONE!
Mirabelle runs over to the cauldron with Isadora. Pink Rabbit wakes up and frowns. He rolls over onto his side and goes back to sleep.
Mirabelle says, HE CAN'T HAVE GONE FAR.
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora flies over to a sparkly trail of slobber leading out of her room.
Isadora says, LOOK. COME ON!
Isadora flies out of her room and down the stairs. Mirabelle runs after her. They follow the slobber trail through the entryway and into the kitchen. Cordelia stands at the kitchen island with a bowl of strawberries, and Honeyblossom sits in her highchair.
Cordelia says, GOOD MORNING!
Bartholomew walks in holding his slippers, covered in sparkly slobber.
Bartholomew asks, WHO SLOBBERED ALL OVER MY VELVET SLIPPERS?
Isadora says, UM –
Mirabelle interrupts and says, IT MUST'VE BEEN HONEYBLOSSOM!
Honeyblossom floats out of her high chair.
[Honeyblossom giggling]
Cordelia waves her fairy star wand, and Honeyblossom drops back into her seat.
[Bartholomew gasping]
Bartholomew OH, SHE MUST BE GETTING ANOTHER FANG!
Isadora whispers to Mirabelle, THAT WASN'T EXACTLY THE TRUTH.
Mirabelle whispers, I KNOW, BUT SHE PROBABLY IS GETTING ANOTHER FANG SOMEDAY, AND BESIDES, WE NEED TO FIND THAT GLITTER DRAGON BEFORE YOUR PARENTS DO!
Cordelia says, BREAKFAST DARLING!
[Honeyblossom giggling]
Honeyblossom floats out of her high chair. Cordelia waves her wand, and Honeyblossom returns to her seat. At the kitchen table, Mirabelle eats a spoonful of cereal. With a frown, Isadora moves her spoon around her cereal bowl. Bartholomew walks over.
Bartholomew says, SO, I KNOW ISADORA HAS SCHOOL TODAY. BUT WHAT DO YOU GIRLS HAVE PLANNED FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK?
Mirabelle says, UM, NOT MUCH. MAYBE JUST HANGING OUT?
Mirabelle eats another spoonful of cereal. Isadora glances at Bartholomew and eats a spoonful of cereal.
Isadora says, YUM. THANKS FOR BREAKFAST. OFF TO SCHOOL!
Isadora flies out of her chair and across the kitchen.
Cordelia says, ISADORA, GET DRESSED FIRST!
Mirabelle runs out of the kitchen behind Isadora. In the entryway, among puddles of sparkly slobber, Isadora and Mirabelle pause.
Mirabelle quietly says, YOU GET DRESSED. I'LL FIND THE YOU-KNOW-WHAT.
Isadora nods and says, OKAY.
Isadora flies up the stairs. In the study, Mirabelle looks under the chaise lounge and out the window. She frowns and peeks inside the greenhouse. In the backyard, Mirabelle looks around. In the bathroom, she glances down the toilet, frowns, and closes the lid. Mirabelle and Isadora meet on either side of a puddle of sparkly slobber outside Isadora’s bedroom door. Isadora wears her purple cardigan and pink dress.
Isadora quietly asks, DID YOU FIND IT?
Mirabelle says, NO. I LOOKED EVERYWHERE!
Mirabelle glances at Isadora’s bedroom door and frowns.
Mirabelle says, WELL, EXCEPT FOR IN YOUR ROOM.
Isadora says, I WAS JUST IN THERE! I THINK I WOULD'VE NOTICED A DRAGON.
Mirabelle glances downward and points to the slobber puddle at her feet. She and Isadora walk into the room.
[Isadora gasping]
The glitter dragon, now much larger, lies on Isadora’s bed, completely covering it. The dragon smiles.
[Dragon purring]
Isadora says MIRABELLE! WE AGREED A BABY DRAGON.
The dragon sits up on the bed.
Mirabelle says, IT WAS A BABY DRAGON, AND NOW, IT'S A TEENAGER. GLITTER DRAGONS BECOME FULL-GROWN IN ONE DAY, AND THEN FLY OFF TO THE MAGICAL FIELDS NEAR MY HOUSE. IT'S NO BIG DEAL.
Isadora says, IT'S A VERY BIG DEAL. I CAN'T TAKE A TEENAGE DRAGON TO SCHOOL. IT'LL WRECK EVERYTHING!
Cordelia calls up, ISADORA, YOU'RE GOING TO MISS THE BUS!
Isadora groans, OH.
Isadora grabs her backpack and flies out of the room.
[Dragon purring]
Mirabelle glances at the dragon and smiles. In the entryway, Isadora lands beside Cordelia at the front door. Cordelia kisses her on the head and smiles.
Cordelia says, MWAH!
[Bartholomew gasping]
From close by, Bartholomew wails, OH, NO! SLOBBER ON MY SUNGLASSES!
Cordelia says, OH, DEAR.
Cordelia flies away, and Isadora smiles. She steps toward the door and frowns.
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora watches her bus leave.
[Engine rumbling]
Isadora groans, OH, MISSED IT.
Isadora runs to the stairs and shouts, MUM, I NEED A LIFT TO SCHOOL!
Mirabelle steps onto the top of the stairs.
Cordelia calls out, YOU CAN FLY IN ON YOUR OWN TODAY. I'LL CALL MISS CHERRY.
Mirabelle asks, WHY DON'T YOU RIDE THE GLITTER DRAGON TO SCHOOL?
Isadora says, WHAT?! I CAN'T.
Mirabelle says, YOU DON'T WANT TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL AND NOT HAVE A PET FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.
Mirabelle joins Isadora at the bottom of the stairs.
Isadora says, UH, I DON'T KNOW.
Mirabelle says, THE LONGER YOU WAIT, THE LATER YOU'LL BE. PLUS HE CAN'T CAUSE PROBLEMS AT HOME IF HE'S WITH YOU AT SCHOOL, WHERE YOU CAN KEEP AN EYE ON HIM.
Isadora smiles. In the backyard, Isadora sits on top of the glitter dragon, lying on the ground.
Isadora says, UM…
Mirabelle gives Isadora a thumbs-up. Isadora smiles and waves her pink fairy star wand.
Isadora says, SAFE AND SOUND ABOVE THE GROUND.
Isadora casts her spell, and the dragon rises.
[Dragon purring]
Isadora yelps, WHOA!
The dragon flaps its wings.
Mirabelle says, WHOA!
The dragon takes flight.
Isadora says, WHOA!
High in the sky, Isadora opens her eyes.
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora cheers, WOO-HOO!
The dragon dives through the clouds toward Isadora’s school and lands in the playground. Zoe and Oliver run up to the dragon. Zoe carries a bunny in a pet carrier.
[Zoe gasping]
Oliver says, WHOA!
Zoe says, ISADORA, YOUR PET IS A DRAGON?
Isadora flies off the dragon.
Isadora says, HE'S A GLITTER DRAGON, AND VERY FRIENDLY. WANT TO RIDE HIM?
Zoe shouts, YES!
[Zoe giggling]
Zoe pushes the bunny carrier into Isadora’s arms and runs over to the dragon.
On the dragon’s back, Zoe says, WOW!
Miss Cherry runs across the playground.
Miss Cherry says, ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Zoe frowns.
Miss Cherry says, HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARD. GET OFF THAT DRAGON, ZOE.
Zoe says, BUT, MISS CHERRY!
Miss Cherry says, ZOE, YOU HAVEN'T HAD ANY DRAGON-FLYING LESSONS.
Zoe groans, OH!
Zoe joins Isadora and Oliver. She looks disappointed.
Miss Cherry says, NOW, EVERYONE INSIDE. IT'S TIME FOR YOUR PRESENTATION.
Isadora returns Zoe’s bunny to her. In the classroom, Miss Cherry sits behind her desk. The glitter dragon follows Isadora into the room.
[Students gasping]
A student says, AWESOME!
Another student says, WHOA!
[Students giggling]
The dragon flicks his tail and knocks a globe off Miss Cherry’s desk. Miss Cherry catches the globe.
Miss Cherry yelps, OH!
A student cheers, YEAH!
In the front row, Isadora sits at a desk beside Zoe and her bunny. Opposite Isadora and Zoe, J.J. and Oliver sit at a table. J.J. holds a frog. J.J. ducks away from the dragon’s tail.
[Frog croaking]
J.J. says, WATCH OUT!
Miss Cherry says, ALL RIGHT, CLASS. LET'S SETTLE, PLEASE. SO, WHO WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT THEIR PET FIRST?
J.J. raises his hand.
[J.J. gasping with excitement]
J.J. steps forward and faces the class with his frog.
J.J. says, THIS IS SIR HOPS-A-LOT.
[Sir Hops-a-Lot croaking]
J.J. says, AND I GOT HIM BECAUSE ONCE, ISADORA'S COUSIN TURNED ME INTO A FROG, AND IT WAS AMAZING.
Behind Isadora and Zoe, Sashi watches her cat, Gertie, and the dragon playfully swat at each other.
[Gertie meowing]
[Dragon purring]
The dragon moves away, and Gertie leaps after him.
Sashi shouts, NO!
Gertie jumps between Isadora and Zoe. The dragon chases after him. Chaos erupts
Over the chaos, J.J. continues, THEN IT WAS QUITE COOL.
The dragon wanders toward the front of the classroom. A dog beside a desk in the back raises its snout.
[Students laughing]
[J.J. speaking indistinctly]
[Gasping]
[Cat meowing]
[Dog barking]
Isadora looks nervous. She flies up to the dragon.
[Isadora shushing]
[Cat meowing]
The dragon flaps his wings and stomps his feet. He flicks his tail and knocks books off a shelf.
[Clattering]
A student says, WHOA!
[Students giggling]
Isadora grabs the dragon’s paws and frowns.
[Dragon stomping]
Miss Cherry says, THAT'S ENOUGH, CLASS. ISADORA, WHY DON'T YOU GO NEXT, AND THEN MAYBE TAKE THE DRAGON OUTSIDE?
J.J. steps away with Sir Hops-a-Lot. Isadora pulls the dragon closer.
[Dragon purring]
Isadora says, UM, WELL, THIS IS A GLITTER DRAGON. MY COUSIN MIRABELLE MAGICKED HIM UP YESTERDAY. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BABY, BUT GREW REALLY FAST.
Zoe’s bunny hops out of its carrier, and the dragon smiles.
[Dragon purring]
The dragon jumps up and down, and the ground shakes. Miss Cherry ducks behind her desk.
[Miss Cherry yelping]
[Dog howling]
[Students shouting]
[Cat meowing]
[Students laughing]
Isadora yells, STOP! NO!
Isadora runs after the dragon. Gertie jumps off Sashi’s, and Sashi runs after him.
[Dog barking]
J.J. says, WHOA.
The dragon leaps out of the window.
[Zoe gasping]
Oliver says, OH, NO.
Miss Cherry says, OH, DEAR.
Isadora says, UM, IT'S OKAY. I'M SURE HE FLEW OFF TO THE MAGIC FIELDS. HE WON'T BE ANY MORE TROUBLE.
Miss Cherry smiles. Isadora returns to her seat beside Zoe and smiles awkwardly. Sashi holds Gertie close on her desk.
Isadora says, PROMISE.
Miss Cherry returns to her seat and says, RIGHT. WHO'S NEXT? UH, OLIVER?
Oliver walks up to face the class and holds up a rock.
Oliver says, THIS IS MY PET ROCK.
Miss Cherry says, OH, THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT.
Later in the day, Isadora runs through the front doors of the Moon mansion.
Isadora says, HI. I'M BACK!
Isadora steps in a puddle of sparkly slobber.
[Squelching]
Slobber drips off Isadora’s boot.
Isadora says, HUH?
From close by, Cordelia calls out, HELLO, DARLING. WE'RE IN THE KITCHEN!
Isadora flies into the kitchen, where Cordelia mixes a salad. Mirabelle sits on a stool in her black shirt and black and green skirt.
Isadora lands and says, UM, MIRABELLE, CAN WE GO, UM, CAN YOU HELP ME WITH…
Mirabelle says, OH. YOU WANT ME TO HELP YOU WITH…
Mirabelle glances at Cordelia and says, TYING YOUR SHOES!
Mirabelle hops off the stool.
Cordelia says, ISADORA, YOU KNOW HOW TO TIE YOUR SHOES.
[Cordelia chuckling]
[Mirabelle laughing awkwardly]
Mirabelle says, OF COURSE SHE DOES! BUT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON A POTION THAT TIES YOUR SHOES AUTOMATICALLY FOR YOU! SAVES YOU SECONDS EVERY MORNING.
Cordelia says, OH. WELL, OKAY. YOU GIRLS HAVE FUN.
At the top of the stairs, Mirabelle and Isadora stand around a sparkly slobber puddle.
Isadora quietly says, THE DRAGON ESCAPED FROM THE SCHOOL, AND HE MUST'VE COME BACK HERE.
Mirabelle says, I THINK I WOULD HAVE NOTICED A BIG SLOBBERY GLITTER DRAGON RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE ALL AFTERNOON.
[Rustling]
[Dramatic music plays]
Isadora says, UH-OH.
Isadora and Mirabelle rush to the bathroom. Isadora opens the door, and they find the glitter dragon in the bathtub holding a gold, jewelled comb.
[Isadora and Mirabelle gasping]
[Dragon purring]
The dragon flicks his tail and knocks over two candlesticks. Shelves on the wall lean at angles, and a plant lies on its side in a puddle of water on the floor. The dragon spots Isadora and Mirabelle and smiles.
Isadora says, OH NO.
Isadora runs into the bathroom with Mirabelle.
[Dragon purring]
[Isadora shushing]
Bartholomew steps into the bathroom.
Bartholomew says, HUH? THERE'S A DRAGON IN MY TUB?
The dragon spits the comb out of his mouth.
[Dramatic music plays]
[Bartholomew gasping]
Bartholomew says, MY GREAT-GREAT-GRANDFATHER'S ANTIQUE JEWELLED VAMPIRE COMB! NO!
Bartholomew grabs the comb from a puddle of slobber.
[Bartholomew moaning]
Cordelia walks up to the bathroom door.
[Cordelia gasping]
Cordelia says, OH, MY.
Mirabelle says, WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT HAPPEN –
Isadora interrupts and says, MIRABELLE, NO MORE EXCUSES. DAD, I'M REALLY SORRY. I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT MIRABELLE COMING, I FORGOT IT WAS BRING YOUR PET TO SCHOOL DAY. MIRABELLE OFFERED TO HELP AND MADE ME A GLITTER DRAGON.
Mirabelle smiles.
Isabelle continues, AND I KNEW IT WASN'T THE BEST IDEA, BUT I SAID YES BECAUSE IT DID SOUND LIKE FUN. IT CAUSED SOME TROUBLE AT SCHOOL, AND I THOUGHT IT FLEW AWAY TO THE MAGIC FIELDS, BUT I GUESS NOT.
Isadora glances at the dragon.
[Dragon purring]
Cordelia walks into the bathroom.
Mirabelle says, I'M SORRY, TOO. I DIDN'T MEAN FOR ALL THIS TO HAPPEN.
[Cordelia sighing]
Cordelia says, WELL, THIS ISN'T IDEAL. WE NEED TO GET THIS GLITTER DRAGON BACK WHERE HE BELONGS. POOR LITTLE THING DOESN'T KNOW HIS WAY HOME YET. HE'S ONLY YOUNG.
Cordelia scratches the glitter dragon, and he smiles.
Cordelia says, ALL RIGHT, YOU.
[Cordelia chuckling]
Cordelia says, OUT.
The dragon frowns.
[Dragon purring]
Cordelia says, BATH TIME'S OVER!
In the backyard with Mirabelle, Cordelia and Bartholomew, Isadora scratches the dragon’s nose.
Isadora says, HE REALLY IS AMAZING, WHEN HE'S BEHAVING HIMSELF.
Cordelia says, DRAGONS DON'T LIKE TO BE COOPED UP IN BATHROOMS OR CLASSROOMS, AND THIS ONE IS ESPECIALLY LOVELY.
Bartholomew nods.
Cordelia says, EXCELLENT JOB CONJURING HIM, MIRABELLE, BUT MAYBE NEXT TIME, WE DO IT OUTSIDE?
Isadora asks, MUM, DO YOU THINK I COULD RIDE HIM JUST ONE LAST TIME?
Cordelia sighs, AH. ALL RIGHT.
Isadora climbs onto the dragon’s back.
Cordelia waves her wand and says, SAFE AND SOUND ABOVE THE GROUND.
The dragon leaps into the air.
Isadora cheers, WOO-HOO!
[Isadora giggling]
The dragon flies around the mansion towers.
Isadora cheers, YAY!
Back in the yard, the dragon lands.
Isadora grunts, OH!
Isadora sighs, OOH.
Isadora pets the dragon and flies off his back.
[Isadora giggling]
Bartholomew and Cordelia share a smile. Cordelia flies onto the dragon’s back.
[Dragon purring]
Bartholomew steps forward and asks, READY?
[Dragon purring]
The dragon drools onto Bartholomew’s shoe.
[Bartholomew gasping]
Bartholomew wails, NO! I JUST HAD THESE CLEANED.
[Isadora, Mirabelle and Cordelia laughing]
Bartholomew frowns.
Bartholomew groans, OH.
Cordelia says, BYE!
Cordelia flies away on the dragon.
[Bartholomew sighing]

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]
The episode title reads, “The Glitter Dragon.” Outside the Moon family mansion, the sun begins to set.
[Isadora giggling]
Inside, Isadora flies into her bedroom. Pink Rabbit runs in after her with Isadora’s witch cousin, Mirabelle. A cloud air mattress lies on the floor near Isadora’s bed.
Mirabelle says, THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST HALF-TERM EVER!
Isadora says, MIRABELLE, LOOK WHAT MUM MADE FOR YOU!
Mirabelle says, LIKE I SAID, BEST HALF-TERM EVER!
Mirabelle bounces on the cloud mattress.
[Isadora giggling]
Mirabelle says, WHOA.
[Isadora giggling]
Mirabelle asks, WHAT HAVE YOU GOT PLANNED? SHALL WE MAKE A POTION THAT WILL TURN US INTO OWLS? THEN WE CAN STAY UP ALL NIGHT, FLYING IN THE GARDEN!
Pink Rabbit raises an eyebrow. Isadora grabs her backpack from the window bench.
Isadora says, UM, I CAN'T STAY UP ALL NIGHT. I HAVE MY LAST DAY OF SCHOOL TOMORROW.
Mirabelle joins Isadora and says, RIGHT. I FORGOT.
Isadora says, BUT WE CAN DO THAT FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK!
Mirabelle says, GREAT!
Isadora pulls a note out of her backpack and frowns.
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora says, OH, NO. I TOTALLY FORGOT. IT'S BRING YOUR PET TO SCHOOL DAY TOMORROW! UM, OKAY. MAYBE I CAN BRING ONE OF DAD'S BATS.
Isadora stuffs the note in her backpack and paces.
Isadora says, NO. IT'LL PROBABLY JUST SLEEP THE WHOLE TIME.
Mirabelle says, I'VE GOT AN EVEN BETTER IDEA. WHY DON'T I JUST MAKE YOU A PET?
Pink Rabbit frowns.
Isadora asks, HOW CAN YOU MAKE ME A PET?
Mirabelle pulls out her bag and says, TA-DA! I'LL JUST MAGIC YOU UP THE MOST AMAZING PET THAT NOBODY IN YOUR CLASS HAS EVER SEEN BEFORE.
[Mirabelle gasping]
Mirabelle says, LIKE A DRAGON!
Isadora says, A DRAGON? WHAT IF IT STARTS A FIRE AT SCHOOL?
Mirabelle says, I'LL MAKE ONE THAT BREATHES STARS AND GLITTER! PLEASE?
Isadora says, UM…
Mirabelle says, A CUTE LITTLE BABY GLITTER DRAGON. IT'LL BE SO MUCH FUN!
Isadora says, THAT DOES SOUND VERY CUTE AND VERY FUN. OKAY. JUST A LITTLE TINY BABY GLITTER DRAGON?
Pink Rabbit runs away, dives under the bed and hides. Mirabelle sets down her mini cauldron and places her bag on the bench. She opens the bag and takes out a vial of green liquid. Mirabelle gently shakes the vial, then takes out the cork.
[Sloshing]
Mirabelle says, A DASH OF DRAGON FLOWER, FOUR PINCHES OF CUTENESS POWDER, AND A SPRINKLE OF GLITTER AND STARS.
Mirabelle adds a splash of the blue liquid, Dragon Flower, and other ingredients from her bag to the cauldron. In the cauldron, a potion bubbles.
[Bubbling]
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora looks in the cauldron and says, OH, HE'S SO SWEET!
Mirabelle says, I KNOW.
A tiny blue dragon with green wings sleeps in the cauldron. Isadora picks up the dragon.
Isadora whispers, OKAY. WE SHOULD GET READY FOR BED. WE'VE GOT A BIG DAY AT SCHOOL TOMORROW.
[Gentle music plays]
Outside, night turns to day. Asleep in bed with Pink Rabbit, Isadora wakes up wearing purple bat pyjamas. She sits up and looks around, then frowns.
Isadora says, HEY. WHERE DID HE GO?
Isadora looks in the now-empty cauldron.
[Mirabelle snoring]
Mirabelle lies asleep on the cloud mattress, wearing black star pyjamas. Isadora taps Mirabelle’s arm and wakes her up.
Isadora says, MIRABELLE! THE DRAGON! HE'S GONE!
Mirabelle runs over to the cauldron with Isadora. Pink Rabbit wakes up and frowns. He rolls over onto his side and goes back to sleep.
Mirabelle says, HE CAN'T HAVE GONE FAR.
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora flies over to a sparkly trail of slobber leading out of her room.
Isadora says, LOOK. COME ON!
Isadora flies out of her room and down the stairs. Mirabelle runs after her. They follow the slobber trail through the entryway and into the kitchen. Cordelia stands at the kitchen island with a bowl of strawberries, and Honeyblossom sits in her highchair.
Cordelia says, GOOD MORNING!
Bartholomew walks in holding his slippers, covered in sparkly slobber.
Bartholomew asks, WHO SLOBBERED ALL OVER MY VELVET SLIPPERS?
Isadora says, UM –
Mirabelle interrupts and says, IT MUST'VE BEEN HONEYBLOSSOM!
Honeyblossom floats out of her high chair.
[Honeyblossom giggling]
Cordelia waves her fairy star wand, and Honeyblossom drops back into her seat.
[Bartholomew gasping]
Bartholomew OH, SHE MUST BE GETTING ANOTHER FANG!
Isadora whispers to Mirabelle, THAT WASN'T EXACTLY THE TRUTH.
Mirabelle whispers, I KNOW, BUT SHE PROBABLY IS GETTING ANOTHER FANG SOMEDAY, AND BESIDES, WE NEED TO FIND THAT GLITTER DRAGON BEFORE YOUR PARENTS DO!
Cordelia says, BREAKFAST DARLING!
[Honeyblossom giggling]
Honeyblossom floats out of her high chair. Cordelia waves her wand, and Honeyblossom returns to her seat. At the kitchen table, Mirabelle eats a spoonful of cereal. With a frown, Isadora moves her spoon around her cereal bowl. Bartholomew walks over.
Bartholomew says, SO, I KNOW ISADORA HAS SCHOOL TODAY. BUT WHAT DO YOU GIRLS HAVE PLANNED FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK?
Mirabelle says, UM, NOT MUCH. MAYBE JUST HANGING OUT?
Mirabelle eats another spoonful of cereal. Isadora glances at Bartholomew and eats a spoonful of cereal.
Isadora says, YUM. THANKS FOR BREAKFAST. OFF TO SCHOOL!
Isadora flies out of her chair and across the kitchen.
Cordelia says, ISADORA, GET DRESSED FIRST!
Mirabelle runs out of the kitchen behind Isadora. In the entryway, among puddles of sparkly slobber, Isadora and Mirabelle pause.
Mirabelle quietly says, YOU GET DRESSED. I'LL FIND THE YOU-KNOW-WHAT.
Isadora nods and says, OKAY.
Isadora flies up the stairs. In the study, Mirabelle looks under the chaise lounge and out the window. She frowns and peeks inside the greenhouse. In the backyard, Mirabelle looks around. In the bathroom, she glances down the toilet, frowns, and closes the lid. Mirabelle and Isadora meet on either side of a puddle of sparkly slobber outside Isadora’s bedroom door. Isadora wears her purple cardigan and pink dress.
Isadora quietly asks, DID YOU FIND IT?
Mirabelle says, NO. I LOOKED EVERYWHERE!
Mirabelle glances at Isadora’s bedroom door and frowns.
Mirabelle says, WELL, EXCEPT FOR IN YOUR ROOM.
Isadora says, I WAS JUST IN THERE! I THINK I WOULD'VE NOTICED A DRAGON.
Mirabelle glances downward and points to the slobber puddle at her feet. She and Isadora walk into the room.
[Isadora gasping]
The glitter dragon, now much larger, lies on Isadora’s bed, completely covering it. The dragon smiles.
[Dragon purring]
Isadora says MIRABELLE! WE AGREED A BABY DRAGON.
The dragon sits up on the bed.
Mirabelle says, IT WAS A BABY DRAGON, AND NOW, IT'S A TEENAGER. GLITTER DRAGONS BECOME FULL-GROWN IN ONE DAY, AND THEN FLY OFF TO THE MAGICAL FIELDS NEAR MY HOUSE. IT'S NO BIG DEAL.
Isadora says, IT'S A VERY BIG DEAL. I CAN'T TAKE A TEENAGE DRAGON TO SCHOOL. IT'LL WRECK EVERYTHING!
Cordelia calls up, ISADORA, YOU'RE GOING TO MISS THE BUS!
Isadora groans, OH.
Isadora grabs her backpack and flies out of the room.
[Dragon purring]
Mirabelle glances at the dragon and smiles. In the entryway, Isadora lands beside Cordelia at the front door. Cordelia kisses her on the head and smiles.
Cordelia says, MWAH!
[Bartholomew gasping]
From close by, Bartholomew wails, OH, NO! SLOBBER ON MY SUNGLASSES!
Cordelia says, OH, DEAR.
Cordelia flies away, and Isadora smiles. She steps toward the door and frowns.
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora watches her bus leave.
[Engine rumbling]
Isadora groans, OH, MISSED IT.
Isadora runs to the stairs and shouts, MUM, I NEED A LIFT TO SCHOOL!
Mirabelle steps onto the top of the stairs.
Cordelia calls out, YOU CAN FLY IN ON YOUR OWN TODAY. I'LL CALL MISS CHERRY.
Mirabelle asks, WHY DON'T YOU RIDE THE GLITTER DRAGON TO SCHOOL?
Isadora says, WHAT?! I CAN'T.
Mirabelle says, YOU DON'T WANT TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL AND NOT HAVE A PET FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.
Mirabelle joins Isadora at the bottom of the stairs.
Isadora says, UH, I DON'T KNOW.
Mirabelle says, THE LONGER YOU WAIT, THE LATER YOU'LL BE. PLUS HE CAN'T CAUSE PROBLEMS AT HOME IF HE'S WITH YOU AT SCHOOL, WHERE YOU CAN KEEP AN EYE ON HIM.
Isadora smiles. In the backyard, Isadora sits on top of the glitter dragon, lying on the ground.
Isadora says, UM…
Mirabelle gives Isadora a thumbs-up. Isadora smiles and waves her pink fairy star wand.
Isadora says, SAFE AND SOUND ABOVE THE GROUND.
Isadora casts her spell, and the dragon rises.
[Dragon purring]
Isadora yelps, WHOA!
The dragon flaps its wings.
Mirabelle says, WHOA!
The dragon takes flight.
Isadora says, WHOA!
High in the sky, Isadora opens her eyes.
[Isadora gasping]
Isadora cheers, WOO-HOO!
The dragon dives through the clouds toward Isadora’s school and lands in the playground. Zoe and Oliver run up to the dragon. Zoe carries a bunny in a pet carrier.
[Zoe gasping]
Oliver says, WHOA!
Zoe says, ISADORA, YOUR PET IS A DRAGON?
Isadora flies off the dragon.
Isadora says, HE'S A GLITTER DRAGON, AND VERY FRIENDLY. WANT TO RIDE HIM?
Zoe shouts, YES!
[Zoe giggling]
Zoe pushes the bunny carrier into Isadora’s arms and runs over to the dragon.
On the dragon’s back, Zoe says, WOW!
Miss Cherry runs across the playground.
Miss Cherry says, ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Zoe frowns.
Miss Cherry says, HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARD. GET OFF THAT DRAGON, ZOE.
Zoe says, BUT, MISS CHERRY!
Miss Cherry says, ZOE, YOU HAVEN'T HAD ANY DRAGON-FLYING LESSONS.
Zoe groans, OH!
Zoe joins Isadora and Oliver. She looks disappointed.
Miss Cherry says, NOW, EVERYONE INSIDE. IT'S TIME FOR YOUR PRESENTATION.
Isadora returns Zoe’s bunny to her. In the classroom, Miss Cherry sits behind her desk. The glitter dragon follows Isadora into the room.
[Students gasping]
A student says, AWESOME!
Another student says, WHOA!
[Students giggling]
The dragon flicks his tail and knocks a globe off Miss Cherry’s desk. Miss Cherry catches the globe.
Miss Cherry yelps, OH!
A student cheers, YEAH!
In the front row, Isadora sits at a desk beside Zoe and her bunny. Opposite Isadora and Zoe, J.J. and Oliver sit at a table. J.J. holds a frog. J.J. ducks away from the dragon’s tail.
[Frog croaking]
J.J. says, WATCH OUT!
Miss Cherry says, ALL RIGHT, CLASS. LET'S SETTLE, PLEASE. SO, WHO WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT THEIR PET FIRST?
J.J. raises his hand.
[J.J. gasping with excitement]
J.J. steps forward and faces the class with his frog.
J.J. says, THIS IS SIR HOPS-A-LOT.
[Sir Hops-a-Lot croaking]
J.J. says, AND I GOT HIM BECAUSE ONCE, ISADORA'S COUSIN TURNED ME INTO A FROG, AND IT WAS AMAZING.
Behind Isadora and Zoe, Sashi watches her cat, Gertie, and the dragon playfully swat at each other.
[Gertie meowing]
[Dragon purring]
The dragon moves away, and Gertie leaps after him.
Sashi shouts, NO!
Gertie jumps between Isadora and Zoe. The dragon chases after him. Chaos erupts
Over the chaos, J.J. continues, THEN IT WAS QUITE COOL.
The dragon wanders toward the front of the classroom. A dog beside a desk in the back raises its snout.
[Students laughing]
[J.J. speaking indistinctly]
[Gasping]
[Cat meowing]
[Dog barking]
Isadora looks nervous. She flies up to the dragon.
[Isadora shushing]
[Cat meowing]
The dragon flaps his wings and stomps his feet. He flicks his tail and knocks books off a shelf.
[Clattering]
A student says, WHOA!
[Students giggling]
Isadora grabs the dragon’s paws and frowns.
[Dragon stomping]
Miss Cherry says, THAT'S ENOUGH, CLASS. ISADORA, WHY DON'T YOU GO NEXT, AND THEN MAYBE TAKE THE DRAGON OUTSIDE?
J.J. steps away with Sir Hops-a-Lot. Isadora pulls the dragon closer.
[Dragon purring]
Isadora says, UM, WELL, THIS IS A GLITTER DRAGON. MY COUSIN MIRABELLE MAGICKED HIM UP YESTERDAY. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BABY, BUT GREW REALLY FAST.
Zoe’s bunny hops out of its carrier, and the dragon smiles.
[Dragon purring]
The dragon jumps up and down, and the ground shakes. Miss Cherry ducks behind her desk.
[Miss Cherry yelping]
[Dog howling]
[Students shouting]
[Cat meowing]
[Students laughing]
Isadora yells, STOP! NO!
Isadora runs after the dragon. Gertie jumps off Sashi’s, and Sashi runs after him.
[Dog barking]
J.J. says, WHOA.
The dragon leaps out of the window.
[Zoe gasping]
Oliver says, OH, NO.
Miss Cherry says, OH, DEAR.
Isadora says, UM, IT'S OKAY. I'M SURE HE FLEW OFF TO THE MAGIC FIELDS. HE WON'T BE ANY MORE TROUBLE.
Miss Cherry smiles. Isadora returns to her seat beside Zoe and smiles awkwardly. Sashi holds Gertie close on her desk.
Isadora says, PROMISE.
Miss Cherry returns to her seat and says, RIGHT. WHO'S NEXT? UH, OLIVER?
Oliver walks up to face the class and holds up a rock.
Oliver says, THIS IS MY PET ROCK.
Miss Cherry says, OH, THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT.
Later in the day, Isadora runs through the front doors of the Moon mansion.
Isadora says, HI. I'M BACK!
Isadora steps in a puddle of sparkly slobber.
[Squelching]
Slobber drips off Isadora’s boot.
Isadora says, HUH?
From close by, Cordelia calls out, HELLO, DARLING. WE'RE IN THE KITCHEN!
Isadora flies into the kitchen, where Cordelia mixes a salad. Mirabelle sits on a stool in her black shirt and black and green skirt.
Isadora lands and says, UM, MIRABELLE, CAN WE GO, UM, CAN YOU HELP ME WITH…
Mirabelle says, OH. YOU WANT ME TO HELP YOU WITH…
Mirabelle glances at Cordelia and says, TYING YOUR SHOES!
Mirabelle hops off the stool.
Cordelia says, ISADORA, YOU KNOW HOW TO TIE YOUR SHOES.
[Cordelia chuckling]
[Mirabelle laughing awkwardly]
Mirabelle says, OF COURSE SHE DOES! BUT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON A POTION THAT TIES YOUR SHOES AUTOMATICALLY FOR YOU! SAVES YOU SECONDS EVERY MORNING.
Cordelia says, OH. WELL, OKAY. YOU GIRLS HAVE FUN.
At the top of the stairs, Mirabelle and Isadora stand around a sparkly slobber puddle.
Isadora quietly says, THE DRAGON ESCAPED FROM THE SCHOOL, AND HE MUST'VE COME BACK HERE.
Mirabelle says, I THINK I WOULD HAVE NOTICED A BIG SLOBBERY GLITTER DRAGON RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE ALL AFTERNOON.
[Rustling]
[Dramatic music plays]
Isadora says, UH-OH.
Isadora and Mirabelle rush to the bathroom. Isadora opens the door, and they find the glitter dragon in the bathtub holding a gold, jewelled comb.
[Isadora and Mirabelle gasping]
[Dragon purring]
The dragon flicks his tail and knocks over two candlesticks. Shelves on the wall lean at angles, and a plant lies on its side in a puddle of water on the floor. The dragon spots Isadora and Mirabelle and smiles.
Isadora says, OH NO.
Isadora runs into the bathroom with Mirabelle.
[Dragon purring]
[Isadora shushing]
Bartholomew steps into the bathroom.
Bartholomew says, HUH? THERE'S A DRAGON IN MY TUB?
The dragon spits the comb out of his mouth.
[Dramatic music plays]
[Bartholomew gasping]
Bartholomew says, MY GREAT-GREAT-GRANDFATHER'S ANTIQUE JEWELLED VAMPIRE COMB! NO!
Bartholomew grabs the comb from a puddle of slobber.
[Bartholomew moaning]
Cordelia walks up to the bathroom door.
[Cordelia gasping]
Cordelia says, OH, MY.
Mirabelle says, WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT HAPPEN –
Isadora interrupts and says, MIRABELLE, NO MORE EXCUSES. DAD, I'M REALLY SORRY. I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT MIRABELLE COMING, I FORGOT IT WAS BRING YOUR PET TO SCHOOL DAY. MIRABELLE OFFERED TO HELP AND MADE ME A GLITTER DRAGON.
Mirabelle smiles.
Isabelle continues, AND I KNEW IT WASN'T THE BEST IDEA, BUT I SAID YES BECAUSE IT DID SOUND LIKE FUN. IT CAUSED SOME TROUBLE AT SCHOOL, AND I THOUGHT IT FLEW AWAY TO THE MAGIC FIELDS, BUT I GUESS NOT.
Isadora glances at the dragon.
[Dragon purring]
Cordelia walks into the bathroom.
Mirabelle says, I'M SORRY, TOO. I DIDN'T MEAN FOR ALL THIS TO HAPPEN.
[Cordelia sighing]
Cordelia says, WELL, THIS ISN'T IDEAL. WE NEED TO GET THIS GLITTER DRAGON BACK WHERE HE BELONGS. POOR LITTLE THING DOESN'T KNOW HIS WAY HOME YET. HE'S ONLY YOUNG.
Cordelia scratches the glitter dragon, and he smiles.
Cordelia says, ALL RIGHT, YOU.
[Cordelia chuckling]
Cordelia says, OUT.
The dragon frowns.
[Dragon purring]
Cordelia says, BATH TIME'S OVER!
In the backyard with Mirabelle, Cordelia and Bartholomew, Isadora scratches the dragon’s nose.
Isadora says, HE REALLY IS AMAZING, WHEN HE'S BEHAVING HIMSELF.
Cordelia says, DRAGONS DON'T LIKE TO BE COOPED UP IN BATHROOMS OR CLASSROOMS, AND THIS ONE IS ESPECIALLY LOVELY.
Bartholomew nods.
Cordelia says, EXCELLENT JOB CONJURING HIM, MIRABELLE, BUT MAYBE NEXT TIME, WE DO IT OUTSIDE?
Isadora asks, MUM, DO YOU THINK I COULD RIDE HIM JUST ONE LAST TIME?
Cordelia sighs, AH. ALL RIGHT.
Isadora climbs onto the dragon’s back.
Cordelia waves her wand and says, SAFE AND SOUND ABOVE THE GROUND.
The dragon leaps into the air.
Isadora cheers, WOO-HOO!
[Isadora giggling]
The dragon flies around the mansion towers.
Isadora cheers, YAY!
Back in the yard, the dragon lands.
Isadora grunts, OH!
Isadora sighs, OOH.
Isadora pets the dragon and flies off his back.
[Isadora giggling]
Bartholomew and Cordelia share a smile. Cordelia flies onto the dragon’s back.
[Dragon purring]
Bartholomew steps forward and asks, READY?
[Dragon purring]
The dragon drools onto Bartholomew’s shoe.
[Bartholomew gasping]
Bartholomew wails, NO! I JUST HAD THESE CLEANED.
[Isadora, Mirabelle and Cordelia laughing]
Bartholomew frowns.
Bartholomew groans, OH.
Cordelia says, BYE!
Cordelia flies away on the dragon.
[Bartholomew sighing]
