Isadora Moon

[Upbeat introduction music]

DESCRIPTION: At night, the moonlight shines on a pink, white, and gray castle. Isadora Moon flies and dances while holding her magic wand. Isadora has black hair, pointed fairy ears, vampire fangs, and pink bat wings. She wears a purple cardigan, pink boots, black-and-white striped tights, and a pink skirt with star details.

SINGERS: Isadora Moon the one and only, here I go! I'm totally unique and extra-starry. Waving my wand, flying fearlessly, yeah! It's your girl, Isadora.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora stands with her parents, Countess Cordelia Moon and Count Bartholomew Moon. Cordelia has long, curly, pink hair and wears flowers in it. She has transparent, butterfly-like green wings and wears a green sweater and a pink dress. Bartholomew has short black hair and fangs. He wears a long black-and-purple cape, grey pants, and a grey-striped vest over a red shirt.

SINGERS: A little bit of both, half a vampire, half a fairy!

DESCRIPTION: Isadora flies through the air, and a trail of pink sparkles follows her. She is holding Pink Rabbit’s paw, a rabbit stuffed animal with pink fur, a fuzzy white tail, and black-and-white striped ears.

[Opening credits] “Written by Jen Upton”. “Theme Song by Helen Park”. “Series Director William Gordon”. “Showrunner Deborah Thorpe”. “Based on the Isadora Moon books and characters by Harriet Muncaster”.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora splashes into the ocean and transforms into a mermaid with a purple tail. Then, in a flash of magic, she is in a pink room, transforming into a pink-and-black cat.

SINGERS: Ready for a new, exciting journey. Sparkly and extraordinary! Yeah, that's me, Isadora! Watch me be!

[Title] “Isadora Moon”.

[Episode title] “The Lost Crown”.

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew and Isadora fly through the night sky, over the ocean.

ISADORA: Whee! Night flights are the best!

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, the ocean is so beautiful in the moonlight.

ISADORA: It's even more beautiful under the water. Last time I visited Delphina, we went on a night swim with her dad.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, it must be fun to be a mermaid. Ah, I've always wondered what it was like to be a creature of the deep.

[Isadora gasps]

ISADORA: Why don't you find out? You're a vampire. You can shapeshift.

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew stops abruptly in the sky.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh. I can!

ISADORA: Come on! Let's go for a swim.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora spins in a circle, and in a flash of magic, she transforms into a mermaid with a purple tail. She dives into the ocean.

[Magical chiming]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew transforms into a small, purple-striped fish with fangs.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, wait for me.

[Bartholomew grunting]

[Whooshing]

DESCRIPTION: Underwater, Isadora swims in circles.

ISADORA: Whee!

[Isadora gasps]

ISADORA: Dad!

[Laughing]

ISADORA: You're a fish.

BARTHOLOMEW: A rather handsome one, don't you think? Frothy fun!

[Both laughing]

ISADORA: No, this is frothy fun.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora waves her wand and creates a cloud of bubbles. She blows bubbles towards Bartholomew, coating his fish body in them.

[Magical chiming]

[Laughing]

[Bartholomew sneezes]

DESCRIPTION: All of the bubbles disappear except for one bubble right on Bartholomew’s nose.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, it-it's tickling my nose.

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew tries to scratch his nose, but his fin is too short.

[Bartholomew grunting]

BARTHOLOMEW: Uh-oh. I can't reach my nose. Oh, silly, little fins. I-I'm helpless.

[Isadora laughing]

ISADORA: I'll do it.

[Laughing]

DESCRIPTION: Isadora pops the bubble and scratches her dad’s nose.

[Bubble popping]

[Bartholomew sighing happily]

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, thank you, Isadora.

ISADORA: Come on. Let's explore.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Bartholomew dive deeper into the ocean. They swim through an underwater city filled with houses made of seashells. Fish swim all around them.

BARTHOLOMEW: You were right, my darling. It is beautiful down here at night.

DESCRIPTION: A small fish swims behind Bartholomew.

ISADORA: Look, Dad. You've got a fan.

[Laughing]

BARTHOLOMEW: A fan with fins.

[Laughing]

DESCRIPTION: More small fish surround Bartholomew and follow him.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh. Oh, oh, dear. Lots of fin fans. Um, shoo, little fishies. Maybe they think you're their leader.

[Isadora laughing]

[Bartholomew laughing nervously]

BARTHOLOMEW: Go away. I'm-I'm not your leader.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora waves the fish away.

ISADORA: Shoo, shoo! He's my dad. Not your leader.

BARTHOLOMEW: Thank you, Isadora.

ISADORA: Ooh. What's that?

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Bartholomew swim deeper and into a coral reef. Isadora spots something shining on the ocean floor.

[Chiming]

DESCRIPTION: Isadora picks up a sparking crown lying in the sand. A turtle sticks its head out from behind some coral.

[Isadora gasps]

ISADORA: Dad, look! I think it's a royal– Whoa!

DESCRIPTION: Isadora slips backwards and drops the crown. The turtle swims out from behind the coral, takes the crown in its mouth, and swims away.

BARTHOLOMEW: Hey! Come back here, you cheeky sea tortoise!

ISADORA: It's a turtle, Dad, and it's getting away. Come on.

DESCRIPTION: Just then, Delphina swims up to Isadora and Bartholomew. Delphina is a mermaid princess who has black hair and a blue-and-gold tail. Seashells, starfish, and pearls decorate her braided hair.

DELPHINA: Isadora?

ISADORA: Oh, Delphina!

[Gasping]

DELPHINA: What are you doing here? I'm on a night swim with my dad.

DELPHINA: Your dad? Where is he?

BARTHOLOMEW: Hello!

DELPHINA: Your dad's not a fish.

[Isadora laughing]

ISADORA: Well, he is now. He shapeshifted into one so we could swim together.

BARTHOLOMEW: And, if I say so myself, I do make a most stylish fish.

[Laughing]

ISADORA: Delphina, what are you doing out so late?

DESCRIPTION: Delphina frowns.

DELPHINA: I'm looking for my crown. I've lost it somewhere.

ISADORA: Your crown?

DELPHINA: Yes. My dad gave it to me. I'm only supposed to wear it to royal banquets and things. The thing is I forgot I was wearing my crown. I went out to play, and then, I don't know. I must've dropped it. But I have to find it.

ISADORA: We found a crown.

DELPHINA: Really? Amazing! Uh, please can I have it back?

ISADORA: I'm so sorry, Delphina. We found the crown, but then a turtle stole it and swam off.

DELPHINA: Oh, no! Dad's going to be so disappointed with me.

ISADORA: No, he won't. We'll find the turtle and get your crown back.

DELPHINA: Really?

ISADORA: Yes.

BARTHOLOMEW [laughing]: But of course. Come on. The cheeky sea turtle went that a-way.

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew tries to gesture with his fin.

DELPHINA: Uh, which way?

BARTHOLOMEW: That– Oh! Ugh! These little fins are no good for pointing. Just follow me!

[Chiming and bubbling]

DESCRIPTION: Isadora, Bartholomew, and Delphina look in underwater caves, coral reefs, and behind rocks for the turtle. Bartholomew shouts into a cave.

BARTHOLOMEW: Sea turtle? Sea turtle?

[Cave echoing]

BARTHOLOMEW’S ECHO: Sea turtle? Sea turtle?

BARTHOLOMEW: Come out. Come out. Wherever you are.

DELPHINA: I really hope it's around here somewhere. Turtles love playing bubble burst here with me and my friends.

ISADORA: Bubble burst?

[Isadora laughing]

ISADORA: What's that? It sounds fun.

DELPHINA: It is! Whoever makes the biggest bubble wins, but if it bursts, you lose. I could show you if you like.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, yes! I mean, yeah, no, that sounds interesting.

ISADORA: Are you sure?

DELPHINA: Yes, it'll cheer me up.

ISADORA: Okay, so, you make a bubble like this?

DESCRIPTION: Isadora waves her wand, and a large bubble appears.

DELPHINA: Mm-hm, not bad, but watch this.

DESCRIPTION: Delphina rubs her hands together, and an even bigger bubble forms between them.

[Air whooshing]

ISADORA: Ooh!

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Delphina take turns making their bubbles bigger and bigger. Bartholomew swims in between the bubbles.

[Chiming and air whooshing]

[Isadora and Delphina laughing]

[Air whooshing]

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh-ho-ho! Oh, I can't tell who's winning.

[Air whooshing]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew is squished between the two bubbles. The bubbles pop, and Bartholomew goes flying through the water.

[Popping]

[Bartholomew yelling]

[Isadora and Delphina laughing]

ISADORA: Oops. Sorry, Dad.

DELPHINA: We didn't find the crown, but that was fun.

DESCRIPTION: Delphina shrugs and frowns.

DELPHINA: Aw. What if we never find it?

ISADORA: Oh, we will. Come on. Where else do turtles like to play?

DELPHINA: Mm. Oh! I know! Follow me!

[Whimsical music]

DESCRIPTION: Later, Delphina, Isadora, and Bartholomew are looking around in the town square. Seashell houses surround a large stone patio. In the centre of the town square is a statue of Delphina’s dad, the Mermaid King.

DELPHINA: Oh, I really thought it might be here.

BARTHOLOMEW: Mm, definitely no sea turtles here, but what a marvelous place.

DELPHINA: Thanks. This is where the royal guest's children come to play chase.

BARTHOLOMEW: Fascinating. You know, I'm pretty fast myself, being a vampire fish. Bet you can't catch me!

DELPHINA: Bet I can!

[Kids laughing]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew swims off, and Delphina and Isadora swim after him.

BARTHOLOMEW: Woo-hoo!

[Isadora and Delphina laughing]

[Bartholomew laughing]

[Upbeat music]

BARTHOLOMEW: Uh-oh!

DESCRIPTION: Isadora reaches out her hand and taps Bartholomew’s tail.

[Laughing]

ISADORA: Gotcha, Dad!

[Laughing]

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, I'm so much faster when I have legs. Although, not as fast as a sea turtle.

[Delphina gasps]

DELPHINA: The sea turtle and the crown. I was having so much fun I forgot.

ISADORA: Come on. Let's keep looking.

DESCRIPTION: Delphina frowns.

DELPHINA: What's the point? My crown is probably lost forever. Aw, I'm the worst princess ever.

ISADORA: No, you're not. Don't give up. Where should we look next?

[Delphina gasps]

DELPHINA: The stables. Turtles love to tease sea unicorns.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Delphina swim off. Bartholomew swims after them.

BARTHOLOMEW: Hey! Wait for me.

[Bubbling]

DESCRIPTION: Delphina, Isadora, and Bartholomew arrive at the sea unicorn stables. It is a marble building with gold stable doors, encrusted with seashells and seahorse statues.

BARTHOLOMEW: You know, we should have brought sea apples for the seahorses.

ISADORA: Dad!

[Laughing]

ISADORA: Delphina has a sea unicorn.

DELPHINA: And he only eats rainbow algae.

[Door squeaking]

DESCRIPTION: Delphina opens the stable door, and her sea unicorn swims out. Bubbles is a large, pink seahorse with a unicorn horn. He is wearing riding gear, including a saddle and a bridle.

[Laughing]

ISADORA: Aw, hello, Bubbles.

BARTHOLOMEW: Hello!

DESCRIPTION: Bubbles blows bubbles at Bartholomew and sends him flying through the water.

BARTHOLOMEW: Ah!

[Kids laughing]

DELPHINA: Bubbles, you haven't seen a sea turtle with a crown, have you?

DESCRIPTION: Bubbles shakes his head.

BARTHOLOMEW: Nope. Still no tricksy turtle. Maybe we head back to the palace, hm?

DELPHINA: Uh, no! Let's play another game of chase instead.

BARTHOLOMEW: It's getting late, which is wonderful for vampires, but, not for mermaid princesses.

[Delphina sighing]

DELPHINA: Maybe I shouldn't even be a princess anymore if I can't look after the crown.

[Isadora gasps]

ISADORA: But being a princess is about so much more than looking after a crown.

BARTHOLOMEW: Indeed it is, and you have been a wonderful ambassador for your father's kingdom introducing a vampire visitor to your magical undersea world.

DELPHINA: But I lost the crown.

ISADORA: It was a mistake. We all make mistakes sometimes. Come on. Let's go and find your dad.

DELPHINA: Okay.

DESCRIPTION: Later, Isadora, Bartholomew, and Delphina arrive at the Royal Palace, a large, pearly, underwater castle. Delphina’s dad, the Mermaid King, sits on a seashell throne.

[Bubbling]

MERMAID KING: Delphina, there you are. Oh, Isadora, how did you get here all on your own?

ISADORA: I came with my dad.

MERMAID KING: I've met your father and he's not a fish.

BARTHOLOMEW: Well, not usually.

DESCRIPTION: The Mermaid King’s eyes widen.

MERMAID KING: Bartholomew?

BARTHOLOMEW: At your service, your majesty.

MERMAID KING: Well, now I've seen everything.

[All laughing]

DELPHINA: Uh, Dad, there's something I need to tell you.

MERMAID KING: What is it, sweetheart?

[Delphina sighing]

DELPHINA: I lost my crown, the one I'm only supposed to wear for special, royal occasions.

MERMAID KING: Ah, I see.

[The Mermaid King laughs]

DELPHINA: Wait. You're not cross. Or upset.

DESCRIPTION: Delphina and her dad hug.

MERMAID KING: There's something you should see. Shelly!

DESCRIPTION: The Mermaid King calls out, and the turtle swims into the room, holding Delphina’s crown in her mouth.

DELPHINA: Shelly!

DESCRIPTION: Delphina swims excitedly towards Shelly. Bartholomew and Isadora look at each other, confused.

BARTHOLOMEW/ ISADORA: Shelly?

DELPHINA: Oh, Shelly. Our ancient, old palace sea turtle.

BARTHOLOMEW: You mean, I'm slower than an ancient sea turtle?

MERMAID KING: She recognized the crown and brought it straight here.

DELPHINA: Oh! Thank you, Shelly. I'm sorry, Dad.

MERMAID KING: Oh, Delphina, we all make mistakes. Whether we are a princess or a king.

ISADORA: Or a fairy vampire.

MERMAID KING: Exactly. It's how we deal with those mistakes that matters, and admitting to them is a great start.

DELPHINA: Thank you, Dad.

[Isadora yawning]

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, time to go. It's way past your bedtime.

DESCRIPTION: Delphina holds Isadora’s hands.

DELPHINA: Thank you for helping me do the right thing, Isadora. And thank you too, Count Moon. I think you make a wonderful fish.

BARTHOLOMEW: Mm, I do wear scales rather well.

[All laughing]

DELPHINA: Hope to see you soon. I can't wait.

BARTHOLOMEW: Thank you.

MERMAID KING: It's been a pleasure, my fishy vampire friend.

ISADORA: Bye!

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Bartholomew swim to the surface and fly into the sky. Bartholomew and Isadora transform back into their original bodies.

[Whooshing]

BARTHOLOMEW: Legs! Oh, hello. I– Oh, and hands! Oh, I have missed you!

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Bartholomew hold hands and fly home.

ISADORA: I missed your hands too. It's not really the same holding a fin.

[Both laughing]

[Upbeat music]

SINGERS: A little bit of both! Mighty vampire, magic fairy. Ready for a new exciting journey. Sparkly and extraordinary! Yeah, that's me, Isadora. Watch me be!
