[Episode title] Oscar Finds His Boo.

DESCRIPTION: At the Moon family mansion, Bartholomew sits asleep on the main floor, sitting room couch next to Isadora. Isadora watches Oscar fly about.

OSCAR SINGING: Oh, the beauty of the squirrel at my window. It’s pointy ears, teeth and bright, bushy tail!

[Bartholomew snoring]

DESCRIPTION: Frowning, Oscar pulls out a bullhorn.

OSCAR SHOUTING: The end.

[Bartholomew yelping]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew jolts awake and stumbles off the couch onto his feet. Isadora jumps to her feet.

ISADORA: Yay! Woo!

[Isadora applauding]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew glances at Isadora and joins in on her applause. Oscar takes a bow.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, bravo.

ISADORA: Yes, Oscar!

OSCAR: So, what did you think of my latest one-ghost play, hmm?

DESCRIPTION: Oscar’s wispy tail fades away.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh. I, um, loved every second.

ISADORA: Oscar, you're fading.

OSCAR: Fading? I'll have you know I'm at the peak of my performing prowess.

ISADORA: No. Your body. Look.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar finds his tail gone.

OSCAR: Oh. My wonderful wisp. Where has it gone?

BARTHOLOMEW: Hmm. This looks like a job for The Big Book of Magical Maladies.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora leaps into the air. She waves her star wand and magically pulls a book with a ghost on the cover off a bookshelf. She passes the book to Bartholomew, and Bartholomew flips through the pages.

BARTHOLOMEW: Aha.

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew lays the book out on the coffee table. Isadora and Osar look at the open page.

ISADORA READING: "Hyper-transparency: a condition affecting ghosts during prolonged periods of non-scariness."

BARTHOLOMEW: It means if a ghost doesn't scare anyone for a long time, they start to disappear.

OSCAR: Oh, my. I feel as faint as I look. What is one extremely talented actor to do?

DESCRIPTION: Isadora reads from the book.

ISADORA READING: "You need to do something so scary, it makes someone scream. If you don't, you'll fade away… completely."

OSCAR: Make somebody scream? But I don't like scaring people. Ooh. It's so uncouth.

ISADORA: I don't know. A small scare now and again can be fun.

BARTHOLOMEW: I agree. Being scared is actually one of my favourite things. I love it when a bone-tingling shiver just wiggles down my spine. Ooh!

ISADORA: Perfect. Make Dad scream in fright, then you'll turn back to your usual ghostly self.

BARTHOLOMEW: Go for it, Oscar! Give me everything you've got.

OSCAR: Um, uh, boo?

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, Oscar. If you want me to scream, you're going to have to try a little harder than that. I'm looking forward to it already!

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew walks away. Oscar frowns.

OSCAR: Oh, what's the use? I can't make anybody scream.

ISADORA: But you used to make people scream at the castle all the time.

OSCAR: Oh, the castle. Ah. That was so long ago. It feels like another life. Ever since you invited me to live here, I've been able to relax and be myself. I haven't scared anyone in ages!

ISADORA: I know. Let's have fun being scary together. It'll help you remember how.

OSCAR: Oh, thank you, Isadora. But right now, I don't think I could make a jelly jiggle in fear.

ISADORA: Then we better get started.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Oscar fly away. In Isadora’s bedroom, Pink Rabbit reads a gardening magazine with a carrot on the cover. Isadora looks at Oscar.

ISADORA: Oscar needs to be much scarier if he's going to make Dad scream. Can he practise on you, Pink Rabbit?

DESCRIPTION: Pink Rabbit shrugs and nods, then returns to his magazine.

ISADORA: Yes. The first thing we need to work on is your boo.

OSCAR: What's wrong with my boo? I've always thought it was rather dignified.

[Oscar clearing his throat]

OSCAR: Boo.

[Isadora giggling]

ISADORA: It needs to be loud if you're going to make Dad scream.

OSCAR: Oof. Loud? How uncivilized.

DESCRIPTION: Part of Oscar’s torso fades away.

[Oscar gasping]

OSCAR WAILING: My beautiful torso! Come back, I say. Come back!

ISADORA: Yes! That loud, Oscar! Now, boo. Boo louder than you've ever booed before!

OSCAR WAILING: Boo!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies around the room.

[Oscar gasping]

ISADORA: That was great.

OSCAR: Oh, my. What a thrill! Do you know, I could get used to this being scary again.

ISADORA: The thing is, being loud isn't enough to make Dad scream on its own, but I know just what else you need.

DESCRIPTION: In the sitting room, Honeyblossom sits on the floor gnawing on a toy block.

[Honeyblossom babbling]

ISADORA: Ready?

OSCAR: Ready.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora stands behind the coffee table opposite Oscar.

OSCAR: Uh, what are we ready for again?

ISADORA: You've got the loud boo. Now, you need a scary face to go with it.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora opens the Big Book of Magical Maladies to a page with pictures of ghosts making different faces.

OSCAR: Excellent. How's this?

DESCRIPTION: Oscar holds up his hands with his fingers curled like claws. He raises one eyebrow and smiles.

ISADORA: That's more suspicious than scary. More like this.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora holds up her hands and wiggles her fingers. She raises her eyebrows and sticks out her tongue.

ISADORA: Bleh!

OSCAR: Oh, put that away. Well, I just don't know if my face can be anything other than dangerously handsome.

[Isadora giggling]

[Honeyblossom babbling]

DESCRIPTION: Honeyblossom tosses her toy block across the floor. Oscar picks it up.

OSCAR: Ew! It's all soggy and chewed on.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar drops the block and cringes.

OSCAR: Ugh!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar drops the drool-covered block and waves his arms with his fingers curled.

ISADORA: Oscar, that's an amazing scary face!

OSCAR: It is? Oh.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies over to Honeyblossom.

OSCAR: What do you think, Honeyblossom?

DESCRIPTION: Oscar acts disgusted. He cringes and waves his arms with his fingers curled.

[Oscar shouting]

[Honeyblossom babbling]

DESCRIPTION: Honeyblossom floats off the carpet onto the ceiling.

OSCAR: It's not quite the response I was hoping for.

[Isadora giggling]

ISADORA: You're doing great, Oscar. But I still don't think you're scary enough to make Dad scream. There's something missing.

CORDELIA FROM CLOSE BY: Does anyone want to join me on a –

DESCRIPTION: Honeyblossom flies down from the ceiling into Cordelia’s arms as Cordelia walks into the room.

CORDELIA: Oh!

[Honeyblossom babbling]

CORDELIA: Oh, Honeyblossom, you made me jump.

[Isadora gasping]

ISADORA: That's it! Now, you need the surprise! Can Oscar try to make you jump, too?

CORDELIA: Oh, I suppose so, darling. As long as you don't mind me doing a spot of gardening at the same time.

DESCRIPTION: Outside, as the sun begins to set, Cordelia waves her fairy wand and trims a tree.

CORDELA TO HERSELF: Hmm. Yes.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Oscar watch Cordelia from behind the open back door.

[Cordelia humming]

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies out, over to Cordelia. Cordelia steps away.

OSCAR: Got you!

CORDELIA: Oh.

DESCRIPTION: With her magic, Cordelia moves on to trimming a flower bush. Oscar looks back at Isadora.

ISADORA WHISPERING: The bush. The bush!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies over to the bush, and Cordelia steps away.

OSCAR: Aha! Oh.

CORDELIA: Sorry, Oscar. Did you say something?

OSCAR: Uh, well, it's nothing.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies back to the door.

OSCAR: Bothering bellows! My timing is completely off.

ISADORA WHISPERING: Quick. The vegetable patch. Now's your chance!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar joins Cordelia by the vegetable patch. Cordelia works around a plant in the patch. Oscar bursts out from below.

OSCAR: Blah!

[Cordelia yelping]

CORDELIA: Oh! Oscar, you did make me jump. How very sneaky of you!

ISADORA: Great work, Oscar! You've aced it!

DESCRIPTION: More of Oscar’s torso fades.

[Isadora gasping]

ISADORA: But you're still fading fast. You need to make Dad scream now.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Oscar rush to the kitchen.

OSCAR: But Isadora, I don't know if I'm ready.

ISADORA: Of course you are. You've got the boo, the face and the surprise. Dad will get such a fright, he won't be able to stop screaming.

[Bartholomew whistling]

ISADORA: He's coming this way! Hide!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies into a cupboard. Isadora winks.

[Bartholomew whistling]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew walks into the room.

BARTHOLOMEW: Hello, my darling. I'm just getting a quick snack before my night flight.

ISADORA: I saw some snacks in the cupboard.

BARTHOLOMEW: Delightful.

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew reaches for the cupboard door, and Oscar flies out.

OSCAR WAILING: Boo!

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, hi, Oscar. Were you looking for a snack, too?

ISADORA: Uh, Dad? Oscar is trying to scare you. Remember?

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, yes. No. Right. Of course. Um…

[Bartholomew feigning a scream]

[Isadora giggling]

ISADORA: Nice scream, Dad, but it has to be a real one to count.

BARTHOLOMEW: Well, you nearly got me, Oscar. Uh, Oscar?

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew looks around. Oscar flies away.

[Isadora gasping]

ISADORA: Oscar? Wait!

DESCRIPTION: Isadora follows Oscar to the entryway.

OSCAR: Isadora, I had so much fun learning to be scary again. But alas, I don't think I'll ever be scary enough to make dad scream. More of Oscar’s torso fades.

[Oscar sighing]

OSCAR: I'm going to write my next play. It's going to be very dramatic. Hopefully, I'll finish it before I… disappear for good.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies up the stairs.

ISADORA: A dramatic play? That's it! You've got the loud boo, the scary face and the surprise. All that's missing is a little drama.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies back down the stairs.

OSCAR: Yes, yes! I'll get that scream out of Dad by using my greatest strength: my incredible acting skills.

ISADORA: With just a little help from me.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora pulls out her wand.

[Oscar and Isadora laughing]

DESCRIPTION: At night, the full moon shines bright.

OSCAR: The play begins one stormy night, when a vampire was in for a fright.

DESCRIPTION: At the top of the stairs, Bartholomew flies up to his sitting room. His bat, Borris, sleeps upside down on the fireplace.

[Borris snoring]

BARTHOLOMEW: Okay. Snack, check. Just my hair to do, then I am ready for our night flight, Boris!

DESCRIPTION: Flying outside the sitting room window, Isadora waves her wand and a storm cloud appears. Lightning flashes across the dark cloud.

[Thunder crashing]

DESCRIPTION: In his sitting room, Bartholomew stands before a mirror with his gold comb. He glances toward the window.

BARTHOLOMEW: Woo-hoo! A storm!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar peeks through the mirror and looks up at Borris. Lying awake, Borris frowns.

OSCAR: Shh.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar grabs the comb and flies down the stairs.

BARTHOLOMEW: Perfect night-flight weather!

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew returns to the fireplace where Borris lies asleep.

[Borris snoring]

BARTHOLOMEW: Hmm. I'm sure my comb was here a second ago.

[Oscar wailing]

BARTHOLOMEW: Huh? What is that? Oh, wait a minute.

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew flies down the stairs. In Isadora’s bedroom, Isadora and Oscar play cards on the bed.

BARTHOLOMEW: Ooh, you cheeky!

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew barges into the room. Isadora and Oscar drop their cards.

ISADORA AND OSCAR: Oh!

BARTHOLOMEW: I know you're trying to scare me!

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew looks around the room and frowns. Pink Rabbit lies asleep by the window.

BARTHOLOMEW: Um, you have all been here all the time?

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Oscar nod.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh, my goodness.

OSCAR: Is something wrong? Oh, you look paler than I do.

[Bartholomew chuckling nervously]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew rubs his hands together nervously and leaves.

[Bartholomew whimpering]

[Isadora and Oscar quietly giggling]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew flies down the stairs and drops onto the landing below. Oscar and Isadora watch him from above.

[Thunder crashing]

[Bartholomew yelping]

DESCRIPTION: Lighting flashes.

[Bartholomew sharply exhaling]

BARTHOLOMEW: Ah. There you are.

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew spots his comb on the floor by the door. He runs down, and Isadora waves her wand. The wand flies away.

BARTHOLOMEW: Hey! Come back here!

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew chases his comb around the entryway and into the main sitting room.

ISADORA: Ready, Oscar?

OSCAR: Yes. It's show time!

DESCRIPTION: Osar and Isadora fly down to the sitting room. Isadora waves her wand, and Honeyblossom’s toy blocks soar into the air. Bartholomew swats at the comb and blocks as they fly around him.

[Bartholomew grunting]

DESCRIPTION: Oscar pulls out his bullhorn.

OSCAR WAILING: Boo!

[Bartholomew yelping]

DESCRIPTION: Isadora walks across the room.

ISADORA: Dad? What's going on?

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh. Um, the scary flying things? Oh, I'm sure it's totally fine.

[Thunder crashing]

[Bartholomew yelping]

ISADORA: No. Not those. You! You've got a hair out of place.

BARTHOLOMEW: A hair out of place?!

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew grabs the comb. He flies over to a mirror and looks at his reflection. Oscar flies out of the mirror.

OSCAR WAILING: Boo!

[Bartholomew screaming]

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew drops the comb. He flies into the air and grabs onto the chandelier.

ISADORA: Oscar! You did it. You made Dad scream in fright!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies around Isadora, then up to Bartholomew. Bartholomew smiles.

[Oscar gasping]

OSCAR: I really did, didn't I?

DESCRIPTION: All of Oscar’s wisp reappears.

OSCAR: My wonderful wisp has returned!

ISADORA: Yay!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar and Bartholomew fly down to Isadora. Oscar and Isadora hug.

ISADORA: You're back to normal.

OSCAR: Oh, thank you, Isadora! Thank you-ooh-ooh!
