[Witch cackling]

ISADORA: Granny! Grandpa!

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa walks outside, and Isadora jumps into his arms. Granny follows close behind.

GRANDPA: Oh. Three of my favourite people in the whole wide world.

GRANNY: My darling, so good to see you.

[Granny gasping]

GRANNY: Do you and Cordelia have a fun evening planned?

BARTHOLOMEW: A sunset pampering retreat!

DESCRIPTION: Granny takes Honeyblossom from Bartholomew.

BARTHOLOMEW: Oh! Better go. I don't want to be late for the cucumber supper. Oh, Isadora, don't forget about your show-and-tell project for school. See you later!

DESCRIPTION: Bartholomew takes off into the air. Isadora waves.

ISADORA: Bye, Dad.

DESCRIPTION: Inside, Isadora walks across the entryway.

GRANDPA: So, a special school project. Mm, sounds exciting.

ISADORA: We have to take something in that's special to us to celebrate who we are. I want to find something that's half fairy, half vampire. Like me.

GRANNY: Oh, how lovely, dear. I'm sure you have lots of things to choose from.

DESCRIPTION: Honeyblossom grabs at a crystal ball on a table. Granny pulls her away, and she frowns.

ISADORA: Well, I've got loads of fairy things and vampire things. But I want something that's a bit of both. A magical vampire thing.

GRANDPA: Well, look no further.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa leans toward Isadora.

GRANDPA WHISPERING: They call me the curator of the cosmic.

GRANNY: And who calls you that, dear?

GRANDPA: Everybody. The point is that we have plenty of things that would be perfect for your show-and-tell.

GRANNY: Hmm, I'm not so sure we do, but it's definitely worth a try. Why don't you two go down to the cellar and hunt for something? I'll put Honey Blossom down for her nap.

DESCRIPTION: In the cellar, Grandpa searches a crate. Isadora stands by the stairs.

GRANDPA: Now, Isadora, the fruits of the Moon Dynasty!

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa holds up a rotten banana peel.

GRANDPA: Precious trinkets, heirlooms, and works of art. Spanning centuries!

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa pulls a framed portrait of a young, pink-haired vampire with a young bat on his finger.

[Isadora gasping]

ISADORA: Is that Dad? Oh!

[Grandpa chuckling]

GRANDPA: No, my dear. It's me! When I was only 250 years old.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa pulls a camera out of the crate.

GRANDPA: Ah, here we are. Now, this is a very special vampire instant camera. One of a kind. Go ahead. Press the button.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora presses a button on the camera.

[Camera clicking]

DESCRIPTION: Tiny bat wings pop out of the camera, and it flies away.

[Isadora giggling]

[Grandpa chuckling]

DESCRIPTION: The camera hovers in front of Grandpa and Isadora.

GRANDPA: Say a cheese. Come on, there.

IISADORA: Cheese!

[Camera shutter clicking]

DESCRIPTION: The camera flash flashes brightly.

GRANDPA: Oh, oh, oh dear. I'm seeing spots.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa rubs his eyes. The camera returns to Grandpa’s hands.

GRANDPA: No, no, I guess it's more mechanical than magical.

[Camera whirring]

DESCRIPTION: The bat wings slide back into the camera, and the camera prints a photo.

GRANDPA: Let's just leave the photo here to develop. Ooh.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa sets the camera down on a bookshelf. Granny walks down the stairs.

GRANNY: Any luck, my darlings?

GRANDPA: No.

[Grandpa sighing]

GRANDPA: I don't think we have any magical vampire items here after all.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora looks disappointed. Grandpa glances at Granny with a frown.

GRANDPA: Oh, but wait! Wait. Yes, no. I, I had completely forgotten about, um, this!

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa grabs a small gold box decorated with colourful jewels and marked with bat icons.

GRANDPA: Your granny and I picked it up from an old wise man at a flea market.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora looks amazed.

GRANDPA WHISPERING: Back when they sold real fleas.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa gives the box to Isadora.

ISADORA: Wow. Is it really magical?

GRANDPA: Oh, oh, oh, oh. Absolutely. Legend has it that somewhere deep inside this box, there is magic just waiting to be unlocked.

ISADORA: How does it work?

GRANNY: Yes. I'd like to know that too, actually.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa glances at Granny. Isadora shakes the box and frowns.

[Rattling]

GRANDPA: You know what? I... Hm, oh, I can't remember. Maybe it just needs the right command.

[Grandpa gasping]

GRANDPA: The right half-fairy half-vampire to do it! Let's see what we can do, huh?

DESCRIPTION: In a sitting room upstairs, Grandpa paces. Granny and Isadora sit on opposite couches.

[Grandpa sighing]

[Isadora giggling]

GRANDPA: Let me see, let me see. Ah, yes, of course. Maybe doing a dance will activate it.

ISADORA: Are you sure, Grandpa?

GRANDPA: Only one way to find out.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa takes Isadora’s hand. Isadora flies off the couch and hovers at Grandpa’s height.

GRANDPA: Maestro, if you please!

GRANNY: Of course.

DESCRIPTION: Granny starts her gramophone.

[Classical music playing over the gramophone]

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa and Isadora dance to the other side of the room.

GRANDPA: One, two, three, one, two, three.

[Isadora giggling]

[Crashing]

[Cat hissing]

DESCRIPTION: Granny stops the gramophone.

[Record scratching]

GRANDPA: That was already broken, dear.

[Isadora gasping]

DESCRIPTION: Isadora rushes back to the couch.

ISADORA: Did it work?

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa joins Isadora and looks at the box.

GRANDPA: I don't think so, Isadora. Wait, of course, yes. It's all coming back to me now. A bat. A bat has to do a loop-de-loop and land on the magic box. Come on!

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa walks away.

ISADORA: Coming, Grandpa!

DESCRIPTION: Isadora grabs the music box and flies after Grandpa. In the entryway, Rutger, Grandpa’s pet bat, flies down the stairs into a picture frame on the wall.

[Rutger squeaking]

[Banging and clanking]

DESCRIPTION: He bounces off a step into the air and hovers next to Isadora and Grandpa.

ISADORA: Rutger, we need you to fly into the air, do a loop-de-loop. and land on this magic box, please.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora holds up the magic box. Rutger does a loop-de-loop as Granny walks in and falls on Grandpa’s head.

[Grandpa grunting]

GRANDPA: Rutger, what are you doing?

[Isadora laughing]

ISADORA: Wait, maybe it wasn't a bat flying. Maybe we have to fly.

GRANDPA: Oh, I love it! Uh, I mean, yes. No, that does sound familiar.

GRANNY: Are you sure, dear? You've barely left the ground in years. And you want to try a loop-de-loop?

ISADORA: Don't worry, Grandpa. I'll hold your hand.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora holds Grandpa’s hand. Outside, Granny holds the magic box. Isadora stands beside Grandpa as he stretches. Grandpa does a squat and cringes.

[Grandpa grunting]

[Joints creaking]

[Grandpa straining]

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa stands up straight. Granny looks worried.

[Grandpa sighing]

GRANNY: Are you quite sure about this?

GRANDPA: Of course. I've never felt better.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora takes Grandpa’s hand in hers.

ISADORA: It's okay, Grandpa. I'm holding your hand, remember?

GRANDPA: Thank you, Isadora.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora takes flight. Grandpa closes his eyes and rises off the ground.

[Air whistling]

GRANDPA: I, I'm really doing it!

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa flies away with Isaodra. Granny watches them fly in a loop-de-loop. Grandpa lets go of Isadora’s hand and soars through the air.

GRANNY: You look dashing, dear.

GRANDPA: Thank you, dear! I've never felt so good in my life. Whoo!

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa closes his eyes and dives toward the ground. Granny and Isadora look worried. Grandpa crashes into a bush.

[Granny gasping]

[Thudding]

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa climbs out of the bush.

[Leaves rustling]

GRANDPA: That was... exhilarating! Oh, oh, let's go again!

GRANNY AND ISADORA: No!

ISADORA: Oh, I almost forgot. The magic box.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora takes the magic box from Granny. She speaks into the box.

ISADORA: Hello. Anyone in there? Anything?

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa holds the magic box to his ear.

ISADORA: Still not working.

GRANDPA: Maybe it's not magical after all.

ISADORA: Nothing's worked.

GRANDPA: Oh. Hey, listen. Why don't you and I go back down to the cellar, huh? Oh, I'm determined to find something magical down there.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa flies back inside.

ISADORA: Poor Grandpa. He wants a magical vampire thing even more than I do.

[Isadora gasping]

ISADORA: Would it be okay, Granny, if I made a call on the crystal ball?

DESCRIPTION: In Isadora’s home, the light of the entryway crystal ball pulses.

[Crystal ball ringing]

DESCRIPTION: Oscar the ghost taps on the crystal ball.

[Clinking]

DESCRIPTION: Isadora appears in the crystal ball.

OSCAR: Hello. Oh, there you are! So, how goes the school project?

DESCRIPTION: In Granny and Grandpa’s entryway, Isadora kneels on a stool facing their crystal ball. Granny stands behind her.

ISADORA: I need your help with it. How soon can you get here?

OSCAR: Oh, shouldn't take me too long.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar disappears from the crystal ball and reappears behind Granny and Isadora.

[Granny yelping]

GRANNY: Oh! Oh my.

OSCAR: Sorry for the delay. Traffic. So, what's the plan?

ISADORA: You see, we thought this was a magical box. But it turns out it's not. Grandpa was really sad about it. So, maybe you and I can pretend it is magic.

OSCAR: Oh, I love a caper! Count me in.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora and Oscar join Grandpa in the cellar. Grandpa frowns at a bookshelf.

ISADORA WHISPERING: Okay, Oscar. You pretend to be the magic box talking. And I'll take care of the actual magic.

OSCAR WHISPERING: Got it.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies into the magic box. Isadora flies over to Grandpa.

ISADORA: Grandpa, I heard somewhere that the only way to activate a magic box is with a chant.

GRANDPA: Is that so?

[Isadora loudly clearing her throat]

ISADORA: Ancient box, put on a show! It's magic time, go, go, go!

DESCRIPTION: With Oscar inside, the magic box glows. It floats off Isadora’s hand. Grandpa stares at the box.

[Chimes]

[Isadora gasping]

ISADORA: It's working, Grandpa!

GRANDPA: Wait, it's actually working?! I, I mean, it, it's working.

OSCAR BOOMING: Greetings and salutations! I am Osc – uh... the magic box! Your charming chant has activated my ability to grant you three wishes. What shall be the first?

GRANDPA: Oh, you know. I think I've heard that voice before.

OSCAR SPEAKING NORMALLY: No, you haven't.

OSCAR SPEAKING DEEPLY: No, you haven't.

ISADORA: Go on, Grandpa. Make your first wish.

GRANDPA: Well... I wish my hair was pink.

OSCAR BOOMING: Close your eyes, and it shall be done.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa closes his eyes. Isadora pulls out her star wand. She waves the wand toward Grandpa, and his grey hair and grey eyebrows turn pink.

[Chimes]

[Isadora gasping]

ISADORA: Grandpa, look!

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa opens his eyes and frowns. He glances at his hair and smiles. He grabs a mirror and looks at his reflection.

GRANDPA: Amazing. Pink really brings out my eyes, does it not?

ISADORA: Make another wish, Grandpa!

GRANDPA: I wish for a delicious pickle sandwich.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa closes his eyes and holds out his hands. Isadora waves her wand, and a giant pickle between two regular-sized slices of bread appears. Grandpa opens his eyes and frowns.

[Shimmering]

[Isadora giggling]

ISADORA: Okay, Grandpa. One last wish.

[Grandpa munching]

[Pickle crunching]

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa finishes eating his pickle sandwich.

GRANDPA: I wish for this entire place to be turned into a giant blueberry muffin, but instead of stairs, there are water slides.

OSCAR: Turning the house into a blueberry muffin with water slides for stairs?!

DESCRIPTION: Oscar flies out of the magic box. The box drops to the floor and cracks. Grandpa frowns.

OSCAR: Oh, I love it!

[Isadora laughing]

ISADORA: Oh, Oscar, you gave us away!

OSCAR: Oh, I'm so sorry for damaging your irreplaceable antique.

DESCRIPTION: Granny walks into the cellar with Honeyblossom.

GRANNY: What's all the excitement about? Oh. Nice hair, dear.

DESCRIPTION: Oscar picks up the bent and cracked magic box.

OSCAR: I'm really sorry. I broke your precious ancient thingy.

GRANNY: Oh, don't worry, Oscar, we have 10 of those. They come free in every box of Wittyfang cereal.

DESCRIPTION: Grandpa cringes.

ISADORA GIGGLING: Grandpa! You knew it wasn't granting real wishes.

GRANDPA: Well, I had an inkling. I'm just sorry we didn't find the perfect thing for your show and tell.

ISADORA: But I do have the perfect thing, Grandpa. I have all the magical memories we've made today.

DESCRIPTION: Isadora flies over to the camera on the bookshelf. She grabs the developed photo and flies over to Grandpa.
