Descriptive Transcript
DESCRIPTION: Fish, whales, and turtles swim through a coral reef. Inside a seaside treehouse are junior lifeguard cadets Pounce, Gemma, Neville, and Frizzy, who all wear red and blue surf shirts. Pounce is a joey kangaroo, Frizzy is a koala, Gemma is a platypus, and Neville is a wombat. The cadets leap from their cubbies and jump down the treehouse slide to the beach.

DESCRIPTION: Neville runs to the end of the dock and blows his whistle.
[Whistle blows]
DESCRIPTION: Bondi and Sandy– two adult, kangaroo lifeguards– drive a rescue speedboat into the ocean. Bondi and Sandy are both wearing red-and-blue surf shirts. Underwater, Frizzy is in a submarine with Big Trev, an adult kangaroo who wears a red and blue surf shirt.
SINGERS: Bondi, Sandy, Big Trev too. Training with the very best lifeguard crew.
DESCRIPTION: In a montage, Bondi and Sandy rescue an otter with a helicopter, the lifeguards drive boats across the water, the junior lifeguards surf the waves, and the whole Kangaroo Beach lifeguard team gathers on the beach. A wave sweeps away the team.

[Noisemaker sounding]
FRIZZY: The Ghërkinns are coming!
CADETS: Wow!
Woo-hoo! Yeah, yeah, all my familykins are coming to visit. Isn't that fantastisch?
CADETS: So, so fun. Exciting. Woo-hoo! Oh, yeah! The Ghërkinns are coming.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn and the cadets run down the beach, past Bondi.
[Bondi gasping]
DESCRIPTION: Bondi’s eyes widen, and he grabs his walkie.
[Walkie beeping]
BONDI: Lifeguards, emergency. The Ghërkinns are coming!
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, Bondi gathers the lifeguards in the treehouse. Bondi stands in front of a screen displaying a map of Kangaroo Beach.
[Map beeping]
BONDI: Listen up, folks. We've got a whole lot of Ghërkinns coming this way.
SANDY: Great! When's the Ghërky party?
DESCRIPTION: Bondi clicks a remote. The screen shows a montage of Ghërkinn drowning, being chased by a sea monster, and being rescued by lifeguards.
BONDI: Safety first. Ghërkinn's been rescued 67 times so far, and now his whole family's joining him. Let's go over every possible emergency. Rips, waves, crabs, confusing the shark alarm for dance music.
[Gemma laughing]
GEMMA: No one would do that.
BONDI: Ho!
DESCRIPTION: Bondi clicks the remote. A video on the screen shows Ghërkinn dancing in the ocean, with a shark fin circling.
[Shark alarm blaring]
BONDI: Well, Ghërkinn has. Three times.
DESCRIPTION: Sandy holds up an album cover of Ghërkinn wearing sunglasses and dancing with a shark.
SANDY: He just released a whole album. It's actually pretty good.
DESCRIPTION: Just then, Ghërkinn runs into the meeting.
GHËRKINN: The Ghërkinns are here!
BONDI: Great gumnuts!
BIG TREV: Hey, that's my line.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn and the lifeguards gather on the beach. A blue-and-red recreational vehicle drives onto the beach and parks in front of the group.
LIFEGUARDS: Woo-hoo! I'm so excited!
GHЁRKINN: Fantastisch! Oh, yeah!
[Horn honking musically]
CADETS: Wow!
[Others cheering and chattering]
CADETS: Huh? Um?
DESCRIPTION: Three European river otters hop out of the vehicle: Ghërkinn’s mother, father, and sister. Ghërkinn’s mother has blonde hair and wears a floral vest. Ghërkinn’s father has gray hair and wears a blue jacket. He is playing a blue accordion. Ghrkinn’s sister has red hair and wears a blue shirt. The three otters burst into song.
[Accordion music playing]
GHËRKINN’S MOTHER [singing]: Hello, yoo-hoo, I'm Mama, nice to meet you-ooh!
GHËRKINN’S FATHER [singing]: Hello, yoo-hoo, I'm Papa, how do you do-ooh?
GHËRKINN’S SISTER [singing]: Hello, yoo-hoo, I'm Hazelnut, let's fun, woo-hoo
THE GHËRKINNS: Woo-hoo, woo-hoo, we're so happy And so [Unclear] to meet you too Woo-hoo!
[Accordion music ends]
CADETS: Yeah!
SANDY: And a big "yoo-hoo" to you too.
BIG TREV: Great to have ya here.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn gives his family a big hug.
GHËRKINN: Oh, familykins. Mm! Welcome to the big bunny beach. How are you liking it?
GHЁRKINN’S FATHER: I love it. And look at all this yellow snow.
GHËRKINN: Yeah, yeah, that is called "sand."
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn’s sister, Hazelnut, approaches Neville.
HAZELNUT: Hello. I'm Hazelnut.
NEVILLE: Uh, hi.
HAZELNUT: Aw, you are the cute, little teddy bear Ghërkinn told me all about.
[Neville laughing]
NEVILLE: Yeah.
[Cadets laughing]
BONDI: Okay, let's go through a few important water safety tips. Number one, how to spot a rip.
[Ghërkinns laughing]
GHËRKINN’S MOTHER: Oh, no.
GHËRKINN’S FATHER: We don't like the splishy splashy waves anyway.
GHËRKINN’S MOTHER: It is far too dangerous compared to our nice, safe, no beach home.
[Ghërkinns laughing]
GHËRKINN’S FATHER: All we want to do is watch our hero son, Ghërky-poo, be doing his job as the chief lifeguard.
BONDI: The chief what now?
[Kids gasping]
CADETS: What? Uh…
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn’s mother unravels a photo album that shows Bondi, with Ghërkinn’s face taped over his.
GHËRKINN'S MOTHER: Yeah, we have been hearing all the stories and seeing all the happy snappies.
[Chuckling]
SANDY: Hm, chief lifeguard, eh?
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn smiles nervously and runs behind Bondi. Ghërkinn steals Bondi’s lifeguard cap and runs back to his family.
GHËRKINN: Uh, yeah. Yoo-hoo.
BONDI: Huh?
GHËRKINN: Now, just one little moment where we step into my office for a meeting.
BONDI/ SANDY: Hm. Hm.
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Inside Bondi’s office, Ghërkinn gathers the lifeguards.
GHËRKINN: Okay, so I may have told one teeny, tiny, little fib-ski.
POUNCE: That you're chief lifeguard?!
GHËRKINN: Okay. Giant fib-ski. I just wanted to make my familykins proud. And look at how proud they are being.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn points to the beach, where his mother and father are speaking to a koala beachgoer.
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: My son is the big hero on big bunny beach.
[Laughing]
GHËRKINN: They are only here for a quick yoo-hoo and then a toodle-loo, so, can we be keeping them proud? Please?
BONDI: Okay, fine, but for one quick yoo-hoo.
GHËRKINN: Oh, thank goodyness. Now, tour time.
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn walks his family through the lifeguard treehouse. He shows them rescue tubes, flippers, lifejackets, binoculars, and Bondi’s trophies. A photograph of Bondi has Ghërkinn’s face taped over his.
GHËRKINN: Welcome to the surfing club! This is a no-eating donut.
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: Ah, I see.
OTHERS: Ooh.
GHËRKINN: These are ducky shoes and lazy swimming vests, and long glasses for when your boat is far, far away.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn’s mother looks through the binoculars.
GHËRKINN'S MOTHER: Oh, really? Oh.
GHËRKINN: Yoo-hoo! These are all my trophies that I won for being a big hero.
[Gasping]
GHËRKINNS: Oh! Wow! Wunderbar!
DESCRIPTION: On the other side of the lifeguard treehouse, Ghërkinn shows his family the lifeguard’s surfboards. He nearly hits Gemma, Pounce, Frizzy, and Neville in the head with the board.
GHËRKINN: And this is my rescue board.
[Others yelling]
GHËRKINN: Whoa, whoa, whoa!
POUNCE: If he's gonna play chief lifeguard, he's gonna need serious training.
FRIZZY: Good idea! But we need to keep his family distracted.
GEMMA: How?
FRIZZY: Hm. I know!
DESCRIPTION: Frizzy hits a button on a speaker, and flashing lights light up the treehouse.
[Ghërkinn's album playing]
FRIZZY: Can I get a "woop-woop?"
GHËRKINNS: Woop, woop, woop, woop, woop, woop, woop, woop. Oh! Woop! Hey, hey!
DESCRIPTION: Frizzy and the Ghërkinns dance to Ghërkinn’s shark album as Pounce, Gemma, and Neville sneak Ghërkinn outside.
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, the cadets train Ghërkinn on the beach. Frizzy sits in a director’s chair with a megaphone. Ghërkinn is wearing Bondi’s lifeguard hat and radio around his arm.
POUNCE: Okay, let's go over the basics.
FRIZZY: First, you'll need a cool catchphrase. Bondi always says...
FRIZZY [Feedback blaring]: "Roo to the rescue."
GHËRKINN: How about "Here comes the hairy hero!"?
CADETS: Uh-uh.
GHËRKINN: "What a lotta otter!"?
CADETS: Uh...
GHËRKINN: "Stay calm and party."?
CADETS: Uh-uh.
GHËRKINN: Uh. Um, "Ghërkinn on the go!"
FRIZZY: I love it!
DESCRIPTION: A little while later, Gemma stands in the ocean. She waves her arms in the air and pretends to be drowning.
GEMMA: Help, please.
DESCRIPTION: Pounce, Frizzy, and Neville stand on the shore with Ghërkinn. In front of them is a paddle, a picnic basket, and a lifeguard surfboard.
POUNCE: Pretend rescue practice.
GHËRKINN: Ghërkinn on the go!
DESCRIPTION: Pounce stops Ghërkinn before he runs into the water.
POUNCE: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Never go into the water to rescue someone without taking… something that floats.
GHËRKINN: Huh.
POUNCE: It will help keep you both afloat in the water.
GHËRKINN: Huh.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn picks up the picnic basket.
GHËRKINN: Hm?
DESCRIPTION: The cadets frown and shake their heads.
CADETS: Uh… Uh-uh.
GHËRKINN: Um…
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn picks up the paddle.
GHËRKINN: Hm?
DESCRIPTION: The cadets shake their heads. Ghërkinn takes the surfboard. The cadets smile and cheer.
GHËRKINN: Uh… A-ha!
CADETS: Good work! Oh, yes! Help.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn paddles out to Gemma.
GEMMA: Oh, help.
POUNCE: He's ready!
[Others cheering]
[Laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn falls off the surfboard.
GHËRKINN: Whoa!
POUNCE: Uh, sort of.
[Others laughing]
POUNCE: And now, we just need one little thing.
DESCRIPTION: A little while later, Bondi stands in the ocean and frowns. He unenthusiastically pretends to need saving.
BONDI: Help. Help me.
DESCRIPTION: The cadets stand on the shore. Ghërkinn holds a lifeguard surfboard, and Frizzy sits on a director’s chair with a megaphone.
FRIZZY: Once more, with feeling.
BONDI: Help. I am a terrible swimmer who's, um, clearly in trouble in the water. Help me. Quick.
DESCRIPTION: Just then, Neville leads Ghërkinn’s family to the shore.
NEVILLE: You gotta see this.
GHËRKINN: Oh, no! That big, silly bunny rabbit is in trouble. Ghërkinn on the go!
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn takes the board and runs into the ocean. His family watches.
GHËRKINNS: Woo-hoo! Wunderbar. Don't worry, helpless bunny. Ghërkinn will save you.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn paddles to Bondi and tries to lift him onto the board.
[Grunting]
GHËRKINN: I've got you. Hoo, you are one big bunny.
[Grunting]
DESCRIPTION: Bondi gets on the surfboard, it tips under his weight, and Ghërkinn flies into the water.
GHËRKINN: Ah!
[Splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn flails in the water. Bondi saves him and paddles him to shore.
GHËRKINN: Oh! Help! Help!
[Gasping]
GHËRKINN’S PARENTS: Oh, no! Ghërky-poo!
GHËRKINN: Help! Help! Pray for me.
BONDI: I've got ya.
[Grunting]
DESCRIPTION: On shore, Sandy pats Ghërkinn on the back. Ghërkinn’s family frowns.
SANDY: Uh, Chief Lifeguard Ghërkinn, are you okay?
[Ghërkinn panting]
GHËRKINN: Yeah. I'm okay.
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: I am not understanding. The big, helpless bunny rescued the chief lifeguard?
GHËRKINN: Oh, I must be telling you the truth. I am not a big hero lifeguard.
[Family gasping]
GHËRKINN: I have been rescued 67 times already.
GEMMA: 68 now, actually.
GHËRKINN: Oh, yeah. 68.
HAZELNUT: Oh, dear big brother! It would seem that you are "Liar, liar, pants on fire!"
GHËRKINN: Yeah. I must be going now. I need to be alone.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn walks off down the beach.
GHËRKINN'S MOTHER: Wait! We will be alone with you!
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: Oh, no. Ghërky-poo. Come on. We will follow him in the wagon.
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: A little while later, Ghërkinn is walking on the river, and hops across rocks. He frowns.
[Birds calling]
[Sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Just then, the Ghërkinn family drives beside the river. They all hop out of the vehicle and run towards Ghërkinn.
[Horn honking musically]
GHËRKINN FAMILY: Ghërky-poo! Yoo-hoo! Yoo-hoo! Oh, there you are.
HAZELNUT: We are still being proud of you. No matter if you're a big, strong lifeguard or a helpless, little otter.
DESCRIPTION: Hazelnut hops on a rock, but slips on the moss and falls into the river. The current is strong, and she floats downstream.
HAZELNUT: Whoa!
GHËRKINN: Hazelnut, be careful.
HAZELNUT: Whoa, whoa!
[Splashing]
HAZELNUT: Help!
GHËRKINN: Do not swim against the current! You will be tired!
[Grunting]
GHËRKINN: You must stay calm and party. I-I mean float!
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn takes the walkie from his shoulder and calls into it.
GHËRKINN: Lifeguards, emergency at the lake.
BONDI [walkie]: We're on our way.
[Action music]
DESCRIPTION: In a montage, the lifeguards suit up for rescue. Lifeguards put on lifejackets, fasten radios, and carry medical gear. A helicopter, a speedboat, a submarine, and a buggy all race into action. Frizzy, Pounce, Gemma, and Neville spring into action poses.
[Action montage ends]
DESCRIPTION: The current pulls Hazelnut further down the river. Ghërkinn takes a floatie from the family vehicle and runs down the river.
[Panting]
HAZELNUT: Help!
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: I'm coming, Hazelnut!
GHËRKINN: No, Papa. Never do a rescue without something that floats.
[Ghërkinn panting and grunting]
HAZELNUT: Help!
[Hazelnut panting]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn jumps into the water and paddles the floatie to Hazelnut. He swims them both to shore.
GHËRKINN: Be holding on. I've got you.
[Ghërkinn and Hazelnut grunting and panting]
DESCRIPTION: Just then, the lifeguard helicopter flies over the river. Bondi, Sandy, and Big Trev look down at Ghërkinn and Hazelnut.
GHËRKINN: Yoo-hoo! We are okay.
BIG TREV: Nice rescue, Ghërkinn.
HAZELNUT: Oh! Mm!
DESCRIPTION: Hazelnut hugs her brother.
[Laughing]
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, the Ghërkinn family joins the lifeguards in the treehouse.
CADETS: Way to go! Amazing rescue!
GHËRKINN’S FAMILY: We are being so proud.
SANDY: Here you go, Ghërkinn.
DESCRIPTION: Sandy hangs a metal around Ghërkinn’s neck.
[Gasping]
SANDY: You've earned this.
GHËRKINN: Oh, a shiny necklace!
BIG TREV: And we're making you an honorary lifeguard at the lake.
[Gasping]
GHËRKINN: Oh! Wunderbar.
[Laughing]
CADETS: Wow! Yeah! Oh! Oh, yeah!
BONDI: In training. An honorary, secondary, vice-assistant, junior lifeguard in training, temporarily. Nice work, mate.
[Sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn hugs Bondi.
GHËRKINN'S MOTHER: Mm. And we have more good news. We are staying for the whole summer.
GHËRKINN: Oh, I am the happiest, little otter.
DESCRIPTION: Bright lights flash around the treehouse, and shark alarm music plays.
[Ghërkinn's album playing]
HAZELNUT: Dancing party!
OTHERS: Woop, woop, woop!
CADETS: Let's party! Yeah!
BONDI: Actually, folks, that's the shark alarm. Roo to the rescue.

GHËRKINN’S FATHER [singing]: Hello, yoo-hoo, I'm Papa, how do you do-ooh?
GHËRKINN’S SISTER [singing]: Hello, yoo-hoo, I'm Hazelnut, let's fun, woo-hoo
THE GHËRKINNS: Woo-hoo, woo-hoo, we're so happy And so [Unclear] to meet you too Woo-hoo!
[Accordion music ends]
CADETS: Yeah!
SANDY: And a big "yoo-hoo" to you too.
BIG TREV: Great to have ya here.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn gives his family a big hug.
GHËRKINN: Oh, familykins. Mm! Welcome to the big bunny beach. How are you liking it?
GHЁRKINN’S FATHER: I love it. And look at all this yellow snow.
GHËRKINN: Yeah, yeah, that is called "sand."
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn’s sister, Hazelnut, approaches Neville.
HAZELNUT: Hello. I'm Hazelnut.
NEVILLE: Uh, hi.
HAZELNUT: Aw, you are the cute, little teddy bear Ghërkinn told me all about.
[Neville laughing]
NEVILLE: Yeah.
[Cadets laughing]
BONDI: Okay, let's go through a few important water safety tips. Number one, how to spot a rip.
[Ghërkinns laughing]
GHËRKINN’S MOTHER: Oh, no.
GHËRKINN’S FATHER: We don't like the splishy splashy waves anyway.
GHËRKINN’S MOTHER: It is far too dangerous compared to our nice, safe, no beach home.
[Ghërkinns laughing]
GHËRKINN’S FATHER: All we want to do is watch our hero son, Ghërky-poo, be doing his job as the chief lifeguard.
BONDI: The chief what now?
[Kids gasping]
CADETS: What? Uh…
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn’s mother unravels a photo album that shows Bondi, with Ghërkinn’s face taped over his.
GHËRKINN'S MOTHER: Yeah, we have been hearing all the stories and seeing all the happy snappies.
[Chuckling]
SANDY: Hm, chief lifeguard, eh?
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn smiles nervously and runs behind Bondi. Ghërkinn steals Bondi’s lifeguard cap and runs back to his family.
GHËRKINN: Uh, yeah. Yoo-hoo.
BONDI: Huh?
GHËRKINN: Now, just one little moment where we step into my office for a meeting.
BONDI/ SANDY: Hm. Hm.
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Inside Bondi’s office, Ghërkinn gathers the lifeguards.
GHËRKINN: Okay, so I may have told one teeny, tiny, little fib-ski.
POUNCE: That you're chief lifeguard?!
GHËRKINN: Okay. Giant fib-ski. I just wanted to make my familykins proud. And look at how proud they are being.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn points to the beach, where his mother and father are speaking to a koala beachgoer.
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: My son is the big hero on big bunny beach.
[Laughing]
GHËRKINN: They are only here for a quick yoo-hoo and then a toodle-loo, so, can we be keeping them proud? Please?
BONDI: Okay, fine, but for one quick yoo-hoo.
GHËRKINN: Oh, thank goodyness. Now, tour time.
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn walks his family through the lifeguard treehouse. He shows them rescue tubes, flippers, lifejackets, binoculars, and Bondi’s trophies. A photograph of Bondi has Ghërkinn’s face taped over his.
GHËRKINN: Welcome to the surfing club! This is a no-eating donut.
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: Ah, I see.
OTHERS: Ooh.
GHËRKINN: These are ducky shoes and lazy swimming vests, and long glasses for when your boat is far, far away.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn’s mother looks through the binoculars.
GHËRKINN'S MOTHER: Oh, really? Oh.
GHËRKINN: Yoo-hoo! These are all my trophies that I won for being a big hero.
[Gasping]
GHËRKINNS: Oh! Wow! Wunderbar!
DESCRIPTION: On the other side of the lifeguard treehouse, Ghërkinn shows his family the lifeguard’s surfboards. He nearly hits Gemma, Pounce, Frizzy, and Neville in the head with the board.
GHËRKINN: And this is my rescue board.
[Others yelling]
GHËRKINN: Whoa, whoa, whoa!
POUNCE: If he's gonna play chief lifeguard, he's gonna need serious training.
FRIZZY: Good idea! But we need to keep his family distracted.
GEMMA: How?
FRIZZY: Hm. I know!
DESCRIPTION: Frizzy hits a button on a speaker, and flashing lights light up the treehouse.
[Ghërkinn's album playing]
FRIZZY: Can I get a "woop-woop?"
GHËRKINNS: Woop, woop, woop, woop, woop, woop, woop, woop. Oh! Woop! Hey, hey!
DESCRIPTION: Frizzy and the Ghërkinns dance to Ghërkinn’s shark album as Pounce, Gemma, and Neville sneak Ghërkinn outside.
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, the cadets train Ghërkinn on the beach. Frizzy sits in a director’s chair with a megaphone. Ghërkinn is wearing Bondi’s lifeguard hat and radio around his arm.
POUNCE: Okay, let's go over the basics.
FRIZZY: First, you'll need a cool catchphrase. Bondi always says...
FRIZZY [Feedback blaring]: "Roo to the rescue."
GHËRKINN: How about "Here comes the hairy hero!"?
CADETS: Uh-uh.
GHËRKINN: "What a lotta otter!"?
CADETS: Uh...
GHËRKINN: "Stay calm and party."?
CADETS: Uh-uh.
GHËRKINN: Uh. Um, "Ghërkinn on the go!"
FRIZZY: I love it!
DESCRIPTION: A little while later, Gemma stands in the ocean. She waves her arms in the air and pretends to be drowning.
GEMMA: Help, please.
DESCRIPTION: Pounce, Frizzy, and Neville stand on the shore with Ghërkinn. In front of them is a paddle, a picnic basket, and a lifeguard surfboard.
POUNCE: Pretend rescue practice.
GHËRKINN: Ghërkinn on the go!
DESCRIPTION: Pounce stops Ghërkinn before he runs into the water.
POUNCE: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Never go into the water to rescue someone without taking… something that floats.
GHËRKINN: Huh.
POUNCE: It will help keep you both afloat in the water.
GHËRKINN: Huh.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn picks up the picnic basket.
GHËRKINN: Hm?
DESCRIPTION: The cadets frown and shake their heads.
CADETS: Uh… Uh-uh.
GHËRKINN: Um…
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn picks up the paddle.
GHËRKINN: Hm?
DESCRIPTION: The cadets shake their heads. Ghërkinn takes the surfboard. The cadets smile and cheer.
GHËRKINN: Uh… A-ha!
CADETS: Good work! Oh, yes! Help.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn paddles out to Gemma.
GEMMA: Oh, help.
POUNCE: He's ready!
[Others cheering]
[Laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn falls off the surfboard.
GHËRKINN: Whoa!
POUNCE: Uh, sort of.
[Others laughing]
POUNCE: And now, we just need one little thing.
DESCRIPTION: A little while later, Bondi stands in the ocean and frowns. He unenthusiastically pretends to need saving.
BONDI: Help. Help me.
DESCRIPTION: The cadets stand on the shore. Ghërkinn holds a lifeguard surfboard, and Frizzy sits on a director’s chair with a megaphone.
FRIZZY: Once more, with feeling.
BONDI: Help. I am a terrible swimmer who's, um, clearly in trouble in the water. Help me. Quick.
DESCRIPTION: Just then, Neville leads Ghërkinn’s family to the shore.
NEVILLE: You gotta see this.
GHËRKINN: Oh, no! That big, silly bunny rabbit is in trouble. Ghërkinn on the go!
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn takes the board and runs into the ocean. His family watches.
GHËRKINNS: Woo-hoo! Wunderbar. Don't worry, helpless bunny. Ghërkinn will save you.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn paddles to Bondi and tries to lift him onto the board.
[Grunting]
GHËRKINN: I've got you. Hoo, you are one big bunny.
[Grunting]
DESCRIPTION: Bondi gets on the surfboard, it tips under his weight, and Ghërkinn flies into the water.
GHËRKINN: Ah!
[Splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn flails in the water. Bondi saves him and paddles him to shore.
GHËRKINN: Oh! Help! Help!
[Gasping]
GHËRKINN’S PARENTS: Oh, no! Ghërky-poo!
GHËRKINN: Help! Help! Pray for me.
BONDI: I've got ya.
[Grunting]
DESCRIPTION: On shore, Sandy pats Ghërkinn on the back. Ghërkinn’s family frowns.
SANDY: Uh, Chief Lifeguard Ghërkinn, are you okay?
[Ghërkinn panting]
GHËRKINN: Yeah. I'm okay.
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: I am not understanding. The big, helpless bunny rescued the chief lifeguard?
GHËRKINN: Oh, I must be telling you the truth. I am not a big hero lifeguard.
[Family gasping]
GHËRKINN: I have been rescued 67 times already.
GEMMA: 68 now, actually.
GHËRKINN: Oh, yeah. 68.
HAZELNUT: Oh, dear big brother! It would seem that you are "Liar, liar, pants on fire!"
GHËRKINN: Yeah. I must be going now. I need to be alone.
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn walks off down the beach.
GHËRKINN'S MOTHER: Wait! We will be alone with you!
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: Oh, no. Ghërky-poo. Come on. We will follow him in the wagon.
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: A little while later, Ghërkinn is walking on the river, and hops across rocks. He frowns.
[Birds calling]
[Sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Just then, the Ghërkinn family drives beside the river. They all hop out of the vehicle and run towards Ghërkinn.
[Horn honking musically]
GHËRKINN FAMILY: Ghërky-poo! Yoo-hoo! Yoo-hoo! Oh, there you are.
HAZELNUT: We are still being proud of you. No matter if you're a big, strong lifeguard or a helpless, little otter.
DESCRIPTION: Hazelnut hops on a rock, but slips on the moss and falls into the river. The current is strong, and she floats downstream.
HAZELNUT: Whoa!
GHËRKINN: Hazelnut, be careful.
HAZELNUT: Whoa, whoa!
[Splashing]
HAZELNUT: Help!
GHËRKINN: Do not swim against the current! You will be tired!
[Grunting]
GHËRKINN: You must stay calm and party. I-I mean float!
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn takes the walkie from his shoulder and calls into it.
GHËRKINN: Lifeguards, emergency at the lake.
BONDI [walkie]: We're on our way.
[Action music]
DESCRIPTION: In a montage, the lifeguards suit up for rescue. Lifeguards put on lifejackets, fasten radios, and carry medical gear. A helicopter, a speedboat, a submarine, and a buggy all race into action. Frizzy, Pounce, Gemma, and Neville spring into action poses.
[Action montage ends]
DESCRIPTION: The current pulls Hazelnut further down the river. Ghërkinn takes a floatie from the family vehicle and runs down the river.
[Panting]
HAZELNUT: Help!
GHËRKINN'S FATHER: I'm coming, Hazelnut!
GHËRKINN: No, Papa. Never do a rescue without something that floats.
[Ghërkinn panting and grunting]
HAZELNUT: Help!
[Hazelnut panting]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn jumps into the water and paddles the floatie to Hazelnut. He swims them both to shore.
GHËRKINN: Be holding on. I've got you.
[Ghërkinn and Hazelnut grunting and panting]
DESCRIPTION: Just then, the lifeguard helicopter flies over the river. Bondi, Sandy, and Big Trev look down at Ghërkinn and Hazelnut.
GHËRKINN: Yoo-hoo! We are okay.
BIG TREV: Nice rescue, Ghërkinn.
HAZELNUT: Oh! Mm!
DESCRIPTION: Hazelnut hugs her brother.
[Laughing]
[Wave splashing]
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, the Ghërkinn family joins the lifeguards in the treehouse.
CADETS: Way to go! Amazing rescue!
GHËRKINN’S FAMILY: We are being so proud.
SANDY: Here you go, Ghërkinn.
DESCRIPTION: Sandy hangs a metal around Ghërkinn’s neck.
[Gasping]
SANDY: You've earned this.
GHËRKINN: Oh, a shiny necklace!
BIG TREV: And we're making you an honorary lifeguard at the lake.
[Gasping]
GHËRKINN: Oh! Wunderbar.
[Laughing]
CADETS: Wow! Yeah! Oh! Oh, yeah!
BONDI: In training. An honorary, secondary, vice-assistant, junior lifeguard in training, temporarily. Nice work, mate.
[Sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Ghërkinn hugs Bondi.
GHËRKINN'S MOTHER: Mm. And we have more good news. We are staying for the whole summer.
GHËRKINN: Oh, I am the happiest, little otter.
DESCRIPTION: Bright lights flash around the treehouse, and shark alarm music plays.
[Ghërkinn's album playing]
HAZELNUT: Dancing party!
OTHERS: Woop, woop, woop!
CADETS: Let's party! Yeah!
BONDI: Actually, folks, that's the shark alarm. Roo to the rescue.
GHËRKINN: And secondary, vice-assistant, junior lifeguard in training on the go!
