DESCRIPTION: Jay looks under the carrom board.

JAY: It's coming from down here.

[Tablet ringing]

[Nikhil and Jay gasping]

DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay stick their heads under the board. Max is lying on the tablet.

[Meowing]

NIKHIL: You love hiding our stuff, Max.

[Meowing]

DESCRIPTION: Max walks off the tablet. They prop the tablet on the carrom board and answer the video call. On the call are Ammamma and Thatha.

AMMAMMA: Hello, hello. Did you get our special parcel yet?

NIKHIL AND JAY: Parcel?

THATHA: Ah, it's a big surprise.

[Doorbell ringing]

[Nikhil and Jay gasping]

APPA: I'll get it.

[Both giggling]

APPA: Ta-da!

DESCRIPTION: Appa returns with a small parcel that can fit entirely in his hands. It has brown wrapping paper covered in stamps. Nikhil frowns.

NIKHIL: That's not big, that's small.

[Jay gasping]

DESCRIPTION: The small, white object lands in Amma’s hand.

[Amma gasping]

AMMA: This is Ammamma's lucky striker!

AMMAMMA: Yes, yes, I won many championships with it. Now it's time to pass it onto...

AMMA: Me? Yes.

AMMAMMA: Nikhil and Jay!

DESCRIPTION: Amma frowns as Ammamma and Thatha celebrate.

AMMAMMA AND THATHA: Yay, yay!

AMMA: Aw.

NIKHIL AND JAY: Thanks!

NIKHIL: Hm. Ammamma, why is it lucky?

AMMAMMA: Do you see a lucky red star?

DESCRIPTION: Nikhil turns the striker. On one side, a red star is drawn in the center of the lucky striker.

AMMAMMA: Thatha drew it for me, and ever since, I've been winning.

NIKHIL: Wow.

AMMAMMA: He has always believed in me.

JAY: Does that mean I'll always win with this?

THATHA [chuckling]: If you believe you can, you will.

AMMAMMA: Now, go and be victorious. Destroy every opponent. You are the champions! Bye, kutties.

BOTH: Bye!

AMMA: Champions? Hm. We'll see about that.

AMMA: Uh… You do know you have to actually finish the match if you're going to win.

JAY: Uh…

DESCRIPTION: Amma holds up her striker and leans in close.

AMMA: Ready?

DESCRIPTION: Jay leans in and holds up his hand, but he does not have his lucky striker.

JAY: Ready with my lucky striker.

DESCRIPTION: Jay looks down at his empty hand.

[Screaming]

JAY: Where is it?

APPA: Uh-oh.

[Dramatic music sting]

[Both gulping]

APPA: You must have dropped it.

AMMA: Oi-yoi-yoi-yo, Ammamma had it for 20 years and we lost it in 20 seconds.

BOTH: No!

APPA: Time out. We'll be back right after this search for the striker break.

DESCRIPTION: Max hides behind the couch.

[Meowing]

DESCRIPTION: Later, the family sits on the couch, holding small objects they found around the living room. None of them holds the lucky striker.

NIKHIL: Three jingly bells.

APPA: One pebble with a face.

AMMA: Two crayons.

JAY: But no lucky striker.

AMMA: Hm, no. But you can play with our old striker.

JAY: I can't win with this. It's not lucky.

NIKHIL: Maybe the luck from the lucky striker has rubbed onto your fingers, Jay.

JAY: Hm.

APPA: What a turn of events. Will Jay's lucky fingers lead him to victory, or will Amma claim back her champion position?

[Crowd cheering]

DESCRIPTION: Back at the carrom board, Amma perfectly sinks a game piece.

[Pieces clacking]

[Both gasping]

AMMA: Boom, boom, boom!

NIKHIL: Come on, Jay.

AMMA: Careful not to pocket the striker.

DESCRIPTION: With a frown, Jay pockets the striker.

[Groaning]

NIKHIL: No!

APPA: His striker has gone flying into the pocket. He needs to pay up with a coin as penalty.

DESCRIPTION: Jay hands Amma a coin.

JAY: I need the lucky striker!

NIKHIL: Hm, where could Jay's lucky striker be?

DESCRIPTION: In his imagination, Nikhil is surrounded by different carrom pieces. He jumps from piece to piece.

[Techno music]

NIKHIL: Wow. Huh?

DESCRIPTION: Suddenly, all the pieces pop away until the only one left is the lucky striker.

[Popping]

[Gasping]

[Popping, lucky striker shimmering]

APPA: Oh, good idea. I need a wee.

AMMA: Yes, me too.

DESCRIPTION: Amma and Appa look at each other.

APPA: Me first.

AMMA: Me.

DESCRIPTION: A little while later, Nikhil looks through a cup full of markers.

[Max meowing in the background]

NIKHIL: Where's my red marker?

DESCRIPTION: Nikhil takes out an orange marker instead.

NIKHIL: Hmm, orange! That'll do.

DESCRIPTION: Nikhil runs back to Jay, who still has his head on the carrom board. Nikhil hands him a striker with an orange star.

NIKHIL: Jay, look what I found.

JAY [Gasping]: The lucky striker! Thanks, Nikhil. You're the best big brother ever, ever, ever. Now I can win.

DESCRIPTION: A little bit later, Jay and Amma play against each other again.

APPA: We are live from the living room. Amma has fought back, but the lucky striker is in Jay's hands! Will we see the making of a brand-new champion? The crowd is going wild!

AMMA: Boom, boom, boom! Shabash, Jay! Or should I say… champion of carrom!

[All exclaiming excitedly]

DESCRIPTION: Appa’s eyes water.

APPA: What a game. What a moment.

[Appa sniffling]

APPA: What a...

[Laughing and sniffling]

APPA: ..champion. Anything to say to the fans?

JAY: Boom, boom, boom! Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

NIKHIL AND JAY: Come on, Max!

DESCRIPTION: Max stands up, and the original lucky striker with the red star falls in front of Jay.

[Meowing]

JAY: Huh?

DESCRIPTION: Jay holds both lucky strikers.

JAY: How come we've got two lucky strikers?

NIKHIL: Uh… Actually, I, uh, made a new lucky striker for you, Jay. Because Ammamma's striker was lost.

JAY [Gasping]: So, I wasn't playing with the lucky striker?

NIKHIL: Nuh-uh.

JAY: But how did I win then?

DESCRIPTION: Appa’s eyes are filled with tears.

APPA: Because Nikhil believed in you.

AMMA: And then you believed you were going to win.

[Gasping]

[Both giggling]

DESCRIPTION: Jay hugs Amma and Nikhil.
