DESCRIPTION: In an animation, the front door of a townhouse opens, and Nikhil smiles. He has short brown hair and brown eyes and wears a red hooded sweater. Inside the house, his little brother, Jay, also has short brown hair and brown eyes. He wears a purple shirt with blue-green trim.
NIKHIL: Hi, I'm Nikhil.
JAY: And I'm Jay!
[Map rustles, boings, plane whooshes, Appa shouts, Amma laughs]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil pulls down a map showing a small boat in the water off the coast of South India. Amma’s face appears. She has chin-length brown hair with a yellow bow. A plane flies to England, and Appa’s face appears. He has short brown hair and a beard. A heart-shaped outline surrounds them. Amma dances, and Appa holds a cat-shaped mug.
[Song] Here's a little story about where our family's from. It starts in South India with Amma, our mom. She caught a plane to England and met our dad, Appa. She loves to dance, and he makes the best cuppa. Oh. And then we came along. Oh. And this is our song.

DESCRIPTION: Jay bounces with his arms in the air.

[Chimes, coins rattle, rocket ship whooshes]
DESCRIPTION: They high-five and daydream about riding coins on a carrom board. In outer space, they peer through the window of a rocket ship.
[Song] We both love to dream. We can shoot a carrom pocket. Yeah, or blast off in a rocket. We make the greatest team.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay fist-bump.
[Needle scratches a record, slide whistle]
NIKHIL: Wait.
JAY: What?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay hold a picture of their grandparents, Ammamma and Thatha. Ammamma has short black hair and wears a yellow shirt and a blue saree. Thatha has short white hair and wears a yellow jacket, a white shirt, and eyeglasses on a chain around his neck.
NIKHIL: There's Ammamma and Thatha.
[Jim and Nana exclaim]

APPA: Watch the Appa Cuppas.
[Whoosh, boing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil runs the other way across the room and stops in front of Amma. Amma stands on her left foot and holds a fruit bowl in her left hand.
NIKHIL: Whoosh!
AMMA: Ooh, watch the snacks, chellam.
[Whoosh, upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL: I'm not chellam. I'm Nikhil X.
[Blades scrape]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil, as Nikhil X, crosses his arms in an “X” across his chest.
JAY: And I'm Jayman!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X and Jayman pose back-to-back.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: With our trusty sidekick, Splat Cat.
[Pop, Max meows, boing, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Max, as Splat Cat, sits between Nikhil X and Jayman, then pounces forward.
[The music stops, Appa chuckles]
APPA: I'm guessing you're ready for family movie time?
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Appa spreads his arms and spins. He stands with his hands on his hips as Amma carries the fruit bowl towards the living room.
APPA: Superhero special!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Yes! Movie time!
[The music stops]
JAY: Are you a superhero, too, Appa?
[Nikhil gasps]
APPA: Me? Of course!
[Appa sings a fanfare, heroic music plays, whooshing]
DESCRIPTION: Appa poses with his right arm extended in front of him and his left arm bent at the elbow with his hand by his left ear. He clenches his right fist, then picks up his cat-shaped mug.
APPA, ECHOING: Appa Cuppaman! Saving the world, one cuppa at a time.
[Mellow music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Amma arrives and opens one eye, then the other.

DESCRIPTION: Amma crosses her eyes, opens and closes them, wobbles her head, and sticks out her tongue. Mr. Awan checks his watch.
MR. AWAN, ECHOING: And I'm Gotta Get to Work Quick Man!
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Awan smiles and points at the boys.
MR. AWAN: Enjoy the movie, guys. Oh, and watch out for those supervillains, boys.
[Thunder booms, zapping, dramatic music plays, Mr. Awan imitates an evil laugh, Mr. Awan coughs]
DESCRIPTION: Bolts of lightning flash behind Mr. Awan as he raises his arms and shuts his eyes.
[The music stops, chiming]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay look at Mr. Awan with big, shiny eyes.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Wow.
[Boys giggle, footsteps tap]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Awan waves and Amma and Appa wave back.

DESCRIPTION: Amma pulls the chain on a lamp, but it does not turn on.
AMMA: Oh, the power's gone.

Jay: What? Where did it go?
[Slide whistle, rustling]
DESCRIPTION: The remote falls off the back of the couch and lands behind a pink cushion.
[Upbeat music plays, thunder booms]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Someone must have taken the power, Jayman.
[Jayman gasps]
JAY AS JAYMAN: Who would take it, Nikhil X?
[Dramatic music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X poses with narrowed eyes and his hands on his hips.

JAYMAN: Disaster!
[The music stops, Splat Cat meows, whoosh]

APPA: The remote's gone, too. I had it right here.

DESCRIPTION: Appa gestures at the couch. Nikhil X crosses his arms across his chest, and red lines appear beside his eyes.

[Nikhil X beeps]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X looks around the living room and notices the remote behind the cushion.

DESCRIPTION: Jayman bounces across the room and jumps on the couch.

[Whooshing, boys giggle, whooshing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X and Jayman twirl in the air and pose. They swoop down, and Jayman rescues Chickpea.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Yah!
[Squeak, chittering]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X rescues Star. The heroes put Star and Chickpea on the ground, then hover in the air, with their hands on their hips.

[Jayman giggles, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The daydream ends. In the boys’ bedroom, Jayman smiles and poses with his hands on his hips.

[Chiming]

NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Hm, but how are we going to find the supervillain who took the power? We don't even know who they are.
[Nikhil X sighs]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X puts his right hand under his chin and paces.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Hm.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Hm.
[Nikhil X gasps, upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: I know! We need to go back in time and catch them taking the power.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman twirls.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Yes! With our time-travelling superpowers!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X, Jayman, and Splat Cat huddle.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Ready?
JAY AS JAYMAN: Ready!
[Splat Cat meows]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X, Jayman, and Splat Cat reach into the centre of the huddle with their left arms and pile their hands. In a split screen, Nikhil X raises his left fist, Jayman stands on the ceiling and smiles broadly, and Splat Cat leaps.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Mission Superhero Time Travel is go, go, go!
[Boys babble, whooshing, wobbling, light music notes play, slide whistle, Nikhil X grunts]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X, Jayman, and Splat Cat turn in circles. Nikhil X’s eyes spin, and he falls.
[The music stops]
JAY AS JAYMAN: Pew! Pew, pew!
[Wobbling, light music notes play, slide whistle, thump, Jayman grunts, Splat Cat meows, slide whistle, thump, blink clink]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman’s eyes spin, and he falls. Splat Cat falls and lies on a carpet with Nikhil X and Jayman. The heroes blink rapidly.
[The music stops]
JAY AS JAYMAN: Huh? Have we travelled back in time?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X shakes his head.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: No, I don't think time travel is our superpower.
[Nikhil X sighs]
AMMA: Nikhil.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X sits up, Splat Cat sits, and Jayman kneels.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Huh?
AMMA: Jay!
[Boys giggle, runs boing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X and Jayman run towards their bedroom door. In the living room, Amma kneels beside an end table, and Appa looks behind the television as Nikhil X and Jayman arrive.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Yeah!
APPA: Boys, have you seen the torch?
[Upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: I'll use my Nikhil X-ray vision.
[Nikhil X beeps, whooshing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X crosses his arms, and red lines appear beside his eyes. He looks around the room and spots the torch, also called a flashlight, in a red Wellington boot.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Ah-ha!
[Whoosh, the music stops]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman brings the torch to Appa.
APPA: Uh, oh? Oh, thanks!
[Boys cheer, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X and Jayman smile and pose with stars and colourful lines around them.

[Chiming, the music stops]

APPA: Uh, well, no, but don't you worry.
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Appa rubs the back of his head, then smiles.
APPA: We'll work out a way to get everything back on.
[Whooshing, torch boings, the music stops]
DESCRIPTION: Appa spins the torch, bounces it from hand to hand, then drops it. He jumps, holding his right knee.
APPA: Whoop! Ow! Ow, ow, ow, ow! I'm okay.
[Appa chuckles]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X and Jayman back away from Appa.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Uh...
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In the foyer, Nikhil X, Jayman, and Splat Cat huddle by the staircase.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: We need a new plan to find the supervillain.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Yes! Do you think the supervillain is somebody in this house?
[The music stops, Nikhil X gasps, Splat Cat meows]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Who?! It can't be Amma or Appa. It's definitely not me or Max.
[Splat Cat meows]
DESCRIPTION: Max, as Splat Cat, sits down and shakes her head.
[Suspenseful music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X narrows his eyes and leans closer to Jayman.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Or you, is it?
DESCRIPTION: Jayman waves his hands.

NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Hm. Then, who was it?
[Mellow music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In a daydream, Nikhil X peers through a magnifying glass as he walks across a field towards Star.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Hm. Star, did you take the power?
[Star squeaks]
DESCRIPTION: Star shakes his head.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: No. Sorry. Hm.
[Slide whistle, Raju growls, whooshing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X peers through the magnifying glass and jumps onto a small island in green water. Nearby, Raju stands on top of a two-tiered island. Nikhil X stands in front of Raju and looks at him through the magnifying glass.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Huh? Raju, did you take the power?
[Raju groans]
DESCRIPTION: Raju shakes his head.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: No, it wasn't Raju.
[Whooshing]
DESCRIPTION: In a 2-D video game, Nikhil X jumps up brick stairs and notices Mr. Awan at the top, walking past a television.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Huh? Mr. Awan?
[Mr. Awan cackles evilly; lightning zaps, Nikhil X shouts]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Awan shoots lightning bolts from his hands at Nikhil X.
MR. AWAN: Watch out for those supervillains, boys.
[Mr. Awan cackles evilly; lightning zaps, Nikhil X gasps, the music stops]
DESCRIPTION: The daydream ends and, in the foyer, Nikhil X smiles.

[Lightning zaps]
DESCRIPTION: Lightning bolts flash behind Nikhil X as he wiggles his fingers.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: They were in the house, but then they left.
[Splat Cat meows, light music plays]
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Mr. Awan! He's the supervillain.
JAY AS JAYMAN: But how can we rescue the power from him?
[Splat Cat meows, upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: We need to use our superpowers.
[Upbeat music plays]
JAY AS JAYMAN: Yeah, we've got loads of superpowers.
[Zapping]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman shoots lasers from his eyes.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Zap. You can use laser blast. Pew! Zap-zap! Pew! Zap!
[Zapping, thump, boys grunt, the music stops, wobbling]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman bumps into Nikhil X, and they both fall. They sit facing each other and shake their heads.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Hm, maybe a bit too dangerous.
[Boys giggle, Jayman grunts, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman lifts Star and Chickpea.
JAY AS JAYMAN: How about super strength?
[Grunts, the music stops, slide whistle, Star squeaks, clattering]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman throws Star and Chickpea.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Maybe not.
[Ding, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X’s eyes widen.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: I know what we need to do. We just need to tell Mr. Awan to give us the power back.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X moves his fist.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Huh? That doesn't sound like a superpower.
[The music stops]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X points behind Jayman.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Of course it is. Look behind you.
[Light music notes play]
JAY AS JAYMAN: Okay!
[Jayman giggles]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman looks behind him.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Hmm.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: See? I told you to look, and you did.
[Light music notes play, whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman turns and faces Nikhil X and Splat Cat.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: That's because we've got the superpower…
[Jayman gasps, triumphant music plays, chiming]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X raises his arms and colourful lines appear around him.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Of telling people what to do.
[Jayman gasps]
JAY AS JAYMAN: Cool, but how can we get to Mr. Awan's shop?
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: By using our power, of course.
[Splat Cat meows, upbeat music plays, rustling]
DESCRIPTION: In the living room, Amma and Appa search through boxes.
AMMA: Nope. No candles.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X, Jayman, and Splat Cat run into the room.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Appa, Appa, Appa!
[Appa exclaims]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: You need to take us to the shop.
[Creak]
APPA: Yes, good idea. Mr. Awan will have candles. Let's go.
[Boys gasp, the music stops]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Yes, our superpower worked.
JAY AS JAYMAN: You told him what to do, and he did it.
APPA: Come on then.
[Footsteps patter]
DESCRIPTION: Appa stands and runs towards the door with the boys.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Yeah.
[Whoosh, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In his shop, Mr. Awan stands behind the counter.
MR. AWAN: Hey, you alright, bro?
APPA: Yeah. Just after some candles.
[Popping]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X and Jayman glare at Mr. Awan.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Give it back!
[Appa gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Awan’s mouth falls open, and Appa’s eyes widen.
APPA: Jay!
JAY AS JAYMAN: Give it back, please.
[Light music plays, chiming]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X and Jayman smile with big, shiny eyes. Appa and Mr. Awan look at each other, and Appa arches an eyebrow.
[The music stops]
MR. AWAN AND APPA: Huh?
MR. AWAN: Give what back?
[Upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: The power. We know you took it from our house.
[Mr. Awan chuckles, Appa sighs]
DESCRIPTION: Appa facepalms.
MR. AWAN: Whoa. Whoa.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: You're the supervillain!
[Tense music note plays, creak]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Awan waves his hands, and Appa stands beside him, smiling.
MR. AWAN: Me?
[Appa chuckles]
APPA: Hey, boys. Mr. Awan didn't take the power. Nobody did.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Huh?
APPA: It was just a power cut. It happens sometimes, but hopefully the power will come back soon.
[Mellow music plays]
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Huh? Oh.
APPA: And if it doesn't, we'll go old school and tell stories by candlelight.
[Upbeat music plays]
MR. AWAN: The story of Mr. Awan, local celebrity by day, supervillain by night.
[Dramatic music plays, lightning zaps, Mr. Awan cackles evilly]
DESCRIPTION: Lightning bolts flash behind Mr. Awan.
[The music stops]
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Aww.
MR. AWAN: You know, it doesn't have to be that one.
[Heartwarming music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The boys look down with slumped shoulders.
[Descending music notes play]
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: It's not that. It's if you're not really a supervillain, then maybe we're not really superheroes.
JAY AS JAYMAN: And maybe we don't have real superpowers.
[Nikhil X groans, Appa chuckles]
APPA: Of course you've got superpowers. Come on, let's get some candles and get back home.
[The music stops]
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Okay.
[Creaking]
DESCRIPTION: At home, Amma relaxes on the couch and Splat Cat naps on the back.
AMMA: Hm.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Appa and the boys look through the doorway.
APPA: Good news. We've got candles!
[Boys sigh, heartwarming music plays]
JAY: Bad news. We haven't got any superpowers.
AMMA: Aw, come here, boys.
[Squeak, Amma chuckles]
DESCRIPTION: Amma hugs Nikhil and Jay.
AMMA: And really good news. Our power's back!
[Fireworks whistle and boom, the music stops]
APPA, NIKHIL AND JAY: Yay!

[Boing]

NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Okay.
[Creaking]
DESCRIPTION: At home, Amma relaxes on the couch and Splat Cat naps on the back.
AMMA: Hm.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Appa and the boys look through the doorway.
APPA: Good news. We've got candles!
[Boys sigh, heartwarming music plays]
JAY: Bad news. We haven't got any superpowers.
AMMA: Aw, come here, boys.
[Squeak, Amma chuckles]
DESCRIPTION: Amma hugs Nikhil and Jay.
AMMA: And really good news. Our power's back!
[Fireworks whistle and boom, the music stops]
APPA, NIKHIL AND JAY: Yay!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Family movie time!
[Boing]
APPA: Yeah! Uh...Oh, I've lost the remote again.
[Appa chuckles]
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh?
[Exciting music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil, as Nikhil X, crosses his arms over his chest and red lines appear beside his eyes.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: X-ray vision!
[Nikhil X beeps]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil X looks around the room and spots the remote in the fruit bowl.
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: Ah-ha!
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay, as Jayman, picks up the remote and gives it to Appa.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Yeah!
[Jayman giggles]
APPA: Well done.
[Appa chuckles]
APPA: See? You two do have a superpower.
AMMA: Yes! The power of finding things!
[Boing, chiming]
DESCRIPTION: Jayman jumps. He and Nikhil X pose, each raising a fist, with colourful lines around them.
JAY AS JAYMAN: Yay! We're the Super Find Things in Funny Places Boys.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Yeah!
NIKHIL AS NIKHIL X: With our sidekick, Splat Cat.
[Pop, Splat Cat meows, yowls, carrom coins clatter]
DESCRIPTION: Splat Cat pops up between the boys, then leaps forward.
NIKHIL X AND JAYMAN: Ooh.
[Max meows, everyone laughs]
DESCRIPTION: Splat Cat lies on a tipped carrom board.
[Upbeat music plays]
