Big Feelings on the Field
Descriptive Transcript
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: On an indoor basketball court, T.V.O. Kids host Gabrielle runs holding a soccer ball under her right arm. Gabrielle has short brown hair and wears a purple T.V.O. Kids t-shirt. She sits on the floor and puts the ball at her feet.
GABRIELLE: Hey, T.V.O. Kids! Soccer isn't just about goals and passes. It's also about feelings, and there can be a lot of them on the field.
DESCRIPTION: On a locker room bench, a player in a red and white uniform leans forward, puts her hands on her knees, and looks down at the floor. She puts her head down and puts her hands behind her head.
GABRIELLE: Players can feel excited or nervous or proud, or frustrated and disappointed, sometimes all in the same game.
DESCRIPTION: On a soccer field, a player celebrates, and three teammates run to him.
GABRIELLE: You might see players celebrate together after a goal or give each other encouragement after a mistake.
DESCRIPTION: On the court, Gabrielle sits with a net behind her.
GABRIELLE: That's because handling feelings is a part of the game too. Even professional players mess up sometimes. What matters is how they respond.
DESCRIPTION: On a soccer field, players huddle together.
GABRIELLE: Do they keep trying? Do they help their teammates? Do they learn and move on?
DESCRIPTION: On the court, Gabrielle sits with a net behind her.
GABRIELLE: Soccer teaches us that big feelings are normal, and that teamwork and kindness can help us through them. So next time you play, you might feel like them, and that's normal. See you next time. Off I go!
