NIKHIL: Hi, I'm Nikhil!
JAY: And I'm Jay!
NIKHIL: Here's a little story about where our family's from.
[Song] Hey!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil pulls down a map. Illustrations of their mother, Amma, and their father, Appa, appear. Amma has chin-length brown hair and wears orange glasses. Appa has short brown hair and a thick brown beard.
NIKHIL AND JAY SINGING: It starts in South India with Amma, our mom. She caught a plane to England and met our dad, Appa!

NIKHIL: Wait, I don't want to wait 'til next time. Let's be pirates now!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil puts his arm around Jay and Jay closes one eye.
JAY: Ahoy, me hearties.
[Nikhil and Jay giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil grabs a large wooden spoon from the kitchen.
NIKHIL: Aha!
DESCRIPTION: Jay grabs a large wooden spatula.
JAY: Yeah!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Ahar!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay swing their wooden cutlery like swords.
[Nikhil and Jay grunting, giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay sword fight with the wooden utensils.

DESCRIPTION: At the back door, Amma peeks into the dining room. She wears a bracelet with bells.
[Bells jingling]
AMMA: What's going on here?
NIKHIL AND JAY: Huh?
[Amma chuckling]
DESCRIPTION: Amma walks inside and reaches into a basket of bananas on the kitchen counter.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh...
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay share a look. Amma pulls out a banana. She squeezes one eye closed and swings the banana like a sword.
AMMA LIKE A PIRATE: Ahoy there, pirates! The name's First Mate Jingly Bananas!
DESCRIPTION: Amma shakes the bells on her bracelet.
[Bells jingling]
NIKHIL AND JAY: Whoa!
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
NIKHIL: Ahar! I am Captain Bigboss!
[Jay giggling]
JAY: And I'm Captain Jiggy Jay! The best pirate captain ever, ever, ever! Ahar!
DESCRIPTION: In Jay’s imagination, he rides a pirate ship with Max, wearing a pirate hat and water wings. Max wears a life preserver ring. Jay and Max sail through the ocean under the starry night sky with Jay’s monkey plushie.
JAY: Whoa! Ahoy, me hearty!
[Jay giggling]
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Gold coins replace the stars in the sky.
[Jay gasping]
JAY: Look, Max! Lots of shiny treasures!

AMMA: Oh, not today, chellam. I've got a swashbuckling adventure of my own.
NIKHIL: Ooh?
JAY: Oh!
AMMA: Which involves a wild sewing machine and seven seas of silk!
DESCRIPTION: Amma spins across the room and leaves.

JAY: What about you? Want to be on Captain Jiggy Jay's crew?
NIKHIL: Sorry, Jay, but I already said I was Captain Bigboss. So, you should join my crew.
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances around Nikhil.
JAY: Wee!
[Jay giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil frowns.
NIKHIL: I am the oldest.
JAY: Ahar!
NIKHIL: And I'm really good at making up rules.
JAY: There's only one pirate rule. Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances.
[Nikhil sighing]
JAY: Yeah!
DESCRIPTION: On the kitchen counter, Max pops up from behind the basket of bananas.
[Max meowing]
MAX: Mmm.
[Max meowing]
NIKHIL AND JAY: Ooh!
NIKHIL: Max, you can join my crew, too. Come on!
[Max meowing]
NIKHIL: Last one to the top deck is a slimy seaweed!
[Jay giggling]
JAY: Wee!
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max jumps down from the counter and follows Nikhil and Jay to the stairs.
NIKHIL: Wee!
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay run up the stairs with their wooden utensil swords. Max rolls her eyes.
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: In their bedroom, Nikhil and Jay climb onto their bunk bed. Nikhil climbs onto the top bunk, and Jay climbs onto the bottom bunk.
NIKHIL: To the captain's bunk.
JAY: That's not the captain's bunk. This is!
DESCRIPTION: Max leaps across the room and jumps onto Jay’s bed. Jay dances on his bed, and Max sways her head.
[Max meowing]
[Jay humming]
NIKHIL: Pirate Max!
JAY: Huh?
NIKHIL: No dancing below deck. It's a rule.
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max rolls her eyes.
[Jay humming]
DESCRIPTION: Amma dances into the bedroom.
AMMA: Ahoy there, captains.
[Amma chuckling]
AMMA: Have you seen my bells anywhere?
DESCRIPTION: Amma points to her bare wrist.
[Jay gasping]
JAY: You mean they're lost? Like pirate treasure?
NIKHIL: Captain Bigboss will find your treasure!
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps out of bed and dances.
JAY: Captain Jiggy Jay will find it first!
[Amma chuckling]
NIKHIL AND JAY: Ahar!
[Amma chuckling]
AMMA: Well, if either of you captains find my bells, uh, I mean, treasure, I'll be one very happy pirate. Argh!
[Amma chuckling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil climbs down from his bunk. Nikhil and Jay wiggle their eyebrows.
JAY: First one to find the treasure is the best captain ever, ever, ever!
NIKHIL: Mission best pirate captain is go, go, go!
[Nikhil and Jay giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Jay runs out of the bedroom. Nikhil starts to follow, then skids to a stop.
NIKHIL: Wait! I need to find the treasure, but how?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil imagines himself stranded on an island with a single shell, a mango tree full of mangos, and a rock marked with an X. The sun shines brightly above.
NIKHIL: Whoa!
DESCRIPTION: A mango in the tree sparkles.
NIKHIL: Huh? Is that the treasure? Nope.
DESCRIPTION: The water sparkles.
NIKHIL: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: A dolphin pokes its beak out of the water.
NIKHIL: There's the treasure!
DESCRIPTION: The dolphin lifts its head out of the water.
[Dolphin chirping]
DESCRIPTION: The dolphin dives back into the ocean.
[Splashing]
NIKHIL: Nuh-uh. Hm. Where is the treasure?
DESCRIPTION: Two dolphins leap out of the water. They make an X with their bodies as they cross through the air and dive back into the ocean.
[Dolphins chirping]
[Splashing]
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: X marks the spot!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks around. He spots the rock marked with an X.
NIKHIL: Huh? Ooh!
DESCRIPTION: The X sparkles. The dolphins rise from the water.
[Dolphins chirping]
[Nikhil giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil picks up the rock and uncovers a pile of colourful gems and gold coins.
NIKHIL: Wow! Yeah!
[Magical music plays]
NIKHIL IN REALITY: Actually, I need to find an X! Hmm.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks around the bedroom.
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: This should help!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil grabs a cardboard tube.
NIKHIL: Yes!
DESCRIPTION: Downstairs, Nikhil runs outside and looks through the cardboard tube.
NIKHIL: Hmm... Hmm.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks at a homemade birdhouse in a tree
NIKHIL: X? X? Where are you?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil spots Max licking her paw.
[Max meowing]
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: Pirate Max! Follow me to find the X. It's a rule!
DESCRIPTION: Max walks away from Nikhil.
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max walks over a patch of soil. Jay digs a hole in the soil with his wooden spatula.
JAY: That's it, Max! There's only one way to find treasure. Dig and jig for it! Ha-ha!
DESCRIPTION: Jay tosses a scoop of soil over his shoulder with his shovel. Mac ducks.
[Max yowling]
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max runs away. Jay continues digging. He pauses and frowns.
JAY: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Jay looks in the hole. Something sparkles.
[Jay gasping]
JAY: Amma, Amma! Captain Jiggy Jay has found the treasure!
[Jay giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Jay digs inside the hole with his hands. Amma runs over.
AMMA: Oh!
[Jay Shouting]
DESCRIPTION: Jay pulls out a worm. Nikhil walks up behind Amma.
AMMA: Uh...
[Nikhil gasping]
[Amma laughing]
AMMA: That's not my bells.
JAY: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Jay frowns and looks at the worm. Nikhil takes a closer look.
NIKHIL: Uh, ewie!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil jumps back.
NIKHIL: Maybe Pirate Worm can join your crew, Jay.
JAY: Yes! Great idea!
[Amma speaking Tamil]
AMMA: I'll have to walk the plank if I don't find my bells. I mean, treasure!
[Nikhil and Jay gasping]
[Amma imitating a pirate]
DESCRIPTION: Amma runs off.
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Appa walks up to Nikhil and Jay.
APPA: Heyo.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Huh?
APPA: What's going on here, then?
NIKHIL: We're pirate captains on a mission to find a lost treasure.
JAY: And save Amma from the planky walk.
NIKHIL: Ya-ha!
JAY: Ooh, yeah, my hearties!
APPA: Ooh, I love a pirate treasure hunt. I'll join your crew. Argh!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Yeah!
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
APPA SINGING: A-yo-ho-ho! A-yo-ho-ho!
DESCRIPTION: Appa, Nikhil and Jay dance.
APPA SINGING: An Appa cuppa and off we go!
JAY: Yay! You can be on my crew.
NIKHIL: No, join mine! I've got lots of cool rules!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Ahar!
JAY: But my crew dance all day long! Jig, jig, jig!
[Jay giggling]
NIKHIL: Join mine!

APPA: Eh...
[Appa stammering]
APPA: I just remembered, I need to, um, uh, peel the potatoes for dinner, and, uh, uh, yeah, fix the shelf, yeah. Gotta…
DESCRIPTION: Appa slowly backs away.
APPA: Okay, bye!
DESCRIPTION: Appa dances toward the house.
APPA SINGING: Yo-ho-ho, and off I go.
DESCRIPTION: Appa runs back to the house. Nikhil and Jay look at each other and shrug.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh?
JAY: I don't need singing pirates anyway. Only dancing ones.
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances and bumps into Nikhil.
JAY: Oh!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil frowns and pulls out the cardboard tube. He looks around the yard through the tube.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
DESCRIPTION: Jay follows Nikhil’s gaze. Nikhil looks at the greenhouse solar panels, a bike, a flower bush, and sticks crossed to make an X.
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: An X! Could it be the treasure?
JAY: Yeah!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay run over to the stick X.
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil kneels in front of the X. Jay hands him the wooden spatula.
NIKHIL: Yeah!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil digs beneath the X. Something in the ground sparkles.
NIKHIL: Ooh!
DESCRIPTION: A worm pops out of the soil.
[Nikhil yelping]
NIKHIL: Ewie!
JAY: Yeah! You've got a wriggly pirate on your crew, too!
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances.
[Nikhil sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Max looks at the worm.
[Max meowing curiously]
JAY: Come on, Max! Follow me! We can jig to find treasure.
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances away.
JAY: Whoosh!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil frowns.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil gets up and follows Jay.
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max walks away.
[Worm laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Elsewhere in the yard, Nikhil looks under a potted plant.
NIKHIL: Ah-ha!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil finds nothing.
NIKHIL: Oh.
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances.
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks under a wooden bench.
NIKHIL: Hm...
JAY: Yeah!
NIKHIL: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances past Nikhil.
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
[Nikhil groaning]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil searches between bushes.
NIKHIL: Um…
DESCRIPTION: Jay pops up behind Nikhil.
[Nikhil yelping]
JAY: Ha-har!
[Nikhil sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances.
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Jay wanders into the garden shed.
NIKHIL: Um...
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks through the cardboard tube at pictures and drawings taped to a wall, including a family Halloween picture and a drawing of Amma and a rainbow. Nikhil looks at tools on a wall, including a wrench, a tape measure, and screwdrivers, and spots strips of red tape crossed like an X on a shelf full of trophies.
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: X marks the spot! I found it!
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances across the shed.
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
[Jay gasping]
JAY: The treasure. Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil walks toward a work table with the trophy shelf above. Jay follows. Appa steps into the shed and frowns.
APPA: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil leans against the work table and reaches toward the shelf.
APPA: Wait, don't –
DESCRIPTION: Appa reaches past Nikhil and trips. Appa’s hand catches on the shelf, and it breaks. The trophies fall onto the work table.
[Crashing]
[Jay gasping]
[Appa sighing]
APPA: – touch that.
NIKHIL: Oops, sorry.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil shrugs, and Jay shakes his head. Amma steps into the shed.
AMMA: Hi, you. What's going on? Has there been a shipwreck?
NIKHIL: I thought I'd found a treasure. Um, X marks the spot.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil holds up the strips of tape that make an X.
APPA: Oh, that X.
DESCRIPTION: Appa takes the tape X from Nikhil.
NIKHIL: Huh?
APPA: Yes, right. I've been meaning to fix those shelves properly, not just with this scrappy bit of tape.
JAY: But it wasn't the treasure, after all.
APPA: Uh, I beg your pardon? These trophies are treasure to me. There's the one I got for coming in 11th in the lemon and spoon race, then the one for –
[Nikhil sighing]
APPA: Oh.
NIKHIL: We're terrible pirates.
APPA: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Appa and Amma glance at each other.
[Nikhil sighing]
NIKHIL: We didn't find Amma's treasure.
JAY: We're the worst pirates ever, ever, ever.
[Jay sighing]
JAY: Even Max didn't want to be on our crews.
[Nikhil and Jay sighing]
[Bells jingling]
[Nikhil and Jay gasping]
APPA AND AMMA: Huh?
JAY: Oh?
NIKHIL: Hm.
JAY: Everybody, people! Did you hear that?
NIKHIL: It sounds like bells! Let's go, quick!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay run out of the shed. Amma and Appa smile and follow.
[Amma and Appa chuckling]
DESCRIPTION: In the kitchen, everyone looks around.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh...
[Bells jingling]
[Everyone gasping]
DESCRIPTION: The basket of bananas on the kitchen counter shakes.
[Bells jingling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay slowly walk alongside the kitchen counter. Nikhil looks around. Jay looks at the basket.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
[Jay gasping]
JAY: It's coming from here!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh...
DESCRIPTION: Two bananas in the basket make an X. They sparkle.
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: X marks the spot!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay each grab a banana.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Max lies among the bananas with Amma’s bells.
[Max meowing]
JAY: Max, you found the treasure!
DESCRIPTION: Max sits up with the bells on her head.
[Max meowing]
NIKHIL: Without the help of Captain Bigboss and his rules.
JAY: Or Captain Jiggy Jay and his jigging. You're the best pirate captain ever, ever, ever, Max!
DESCRIPTION: Max leaps out of the basket into Jay’s arms.
NIKHIL: Yeah, can we join your crew?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil wraps his arms around Jay and Max in a hug.
[Max meowing happily]
DESCRIPTION: Amma and Appa put their arms around Nikhil and Jay.
AMMA LIKE A PIRATE: Room for two more?
[Everyone giggling]
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Later, the family dances across the room in a conga line behind Max, wearing the bells on her head.

[Appa vocalizing]
[Bells jingling]
DESCRIPTION: Appa trips and stumbles.
APPA YELPING: Whoa!

NIKHIL: Wait, I don't want to wait 'til next time. Let's be pirates now!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil puts his arm around Jay and Jay closes one eye.
JAY: Ahoy, me hearties.
[Nikhil and Jay giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil grabs a large wooden spoon from the kitchen.
NIKHIL: Aha!
DESCRIPTION: Jay grabs a large wooden spatula.
JAY: Yeah!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Ahar!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay swing their wooden cutlery like swords.
[Nikhil and Jay grunting, giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay sword fight with the wooden utensils.

DESCRIPTION: At the back door, Amma peeks into the dining room. She wears a bracelet with bells.
[Bells jingling]
AMMA: What's going on here?
NIKHIL AND JAY: Huh?
[Amma chuckling]
DESCRIPTION: Amma walks inside and reaches into a basket of bananas on the kitchen counter.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh...
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay share a look. Amma pulls out a banana. She squeezes one eye closed and swings the banana like a sword.
AMMA LIKE A PIRATE: Ahoy there, pirates! The name's First Mate Jingly Bananas!
DESCRIPTION: Amma shakes the bells on her bracelet.
[Bells jingling]
NIKHIL AND JAY: Whoa!
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
NIKHIL: Ahar! I am Captain Bigboss!
[Jay giggling]
JAY: And I'm Captain Jiggy Jay! The best pirate captain ever, ever, ever! Ahar!
DESCRIPTION: In Jay’s imagination, he rides a pirate ship with Max, wearing a pirate hat and water wings. Max wears a life preserver ring. Jay and Max sail through the ocean under the starry night sky with Jay’s monkey plushie.
JAY: Whoa! Ahoy, me hearty!
[Jay giggling]
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Gold coins replace the stars in the sky.
[Jay gasping]
JAY: Look, Max! Lots of shiny treasures!
[Max meowing]
[Coins jingling]
MAX: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: The gold coins rain down from the sky.
[Max meowing]
[Jay shouting]
JAY IN REALITY: Wowie! I can make treasures rain from the sky! Yeah!
[Amma chuckling]

DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps around the kitchen.
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
JAY: Ooh, I know. You can join my pirate crew, Amma!
AMMA: Oh, not today, chellam. I've got a swashbuckling adventure of my own.
NIKHIL: Ooh?
JAY: Oh!
AMMA: Which involves a wild sewing machine and seven seas of silk!
DESCRIPTION: Amma spins across the room and leaves.
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
JAY: What about you? Want to be on Captain Jiggy Jay's crew?
NIKHIL: Sorry, Jay, but I already said I was Captain Bigboss. So, you should join my crew.
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances around Nikhil.
JAY: Wee!
[Jay giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil frowns.
NIKHIL: I am the oldest.
JAY: Ahar!
NIKHIL: And I'm really good at making up rules.
JAY: There's only one pirate rule. Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances.
[Nikhil sighing]
JAY: Yeah!
DESCRIPTION: On the kitchen counter, Max pops up from behind the basket of bananas.
[Max meowing]
MAX: Mmm.
[Max meowing]
NIKHIL AND JAY: Ooh!
NIKHIL: Max, you can join my crew, too. Come on!
[Max meowing]
NIKHIL: Last one to the top deck is a slimy seaweed!
[Jay giggling]
JAY: Wee!
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max jumps down from the counter and follows Nikhil and Jay to the stairs.
NIKHIL: Wee!
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay run up the stairs with their wooden utensil swords. Max rolls her eyes.
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: In their bedroom, Nikhil and Jay climb onto their bunk bed. Nikhil climbs onto the top bunk, and Jay climbs onto the bottom bunk.
NIKHIL: To the captain's bunk.
JAY: That's not the captain's bunk. This is!
DESCRIPTION: Max leaps across the room and jumps onto Jay’s bed. Jay dances on his bed, and Max sways her head.
[Max meowing]
[Jay humming]
NIKHIL: Pirate Max!
JAY: Huh?
NIKHIL: No dancing below deck. It's a rule.
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max rolls her eyes.
[Jay humming]
DESCRIPTION: Amma dances into the bedroom.
AMMA: Ahoy there, captains.
[Amma chuckling]
AMMA: Have you seen my bells anywhere?
DESCRIPTION: Amma points to her bare wrist.
[Jay gasping]
JAY: You mean they're lost? Like pirate treasure?
NIKHIL: Captain Bigboss will find your treasure!
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps out of bed and dances.
JAY: Captain Jiggy Jay will find it first!
[Amma chuckling]
NIKHIL AND JAY: Ahar!
[Amma chuckling]
AMMA: Well, if either of you captains find my bells, uh, I mean, treasure, I'll be one very happy pirate. Argh!
[Amma chuckling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil climbs down from his bunk. Nikhil and Jay wiggle their eyebrows.
JAY: First one to find the treasure is the best captain ever, ever, ever!
NIKHIL: Mission best pirate captain is go, go, go!
[Nikhil and Jay giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Jay runs out of the bedroom. Nikhil starts to follow, then skids to a stop.
NIKHIL: Wait! I need to find the treasure, but how?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil imagines himself stranded on an island with a single shell, a mango tree full of mangos, and a rock marked with an X. The sun shines brightly above.
NIKHIL: Whoa!
DESCRIPTION: A mango in the tree sparkles.
NIKHIL: Huh? Is that the treasure? Nope.
DESCRIPTION: The water sparkles.
NIKHIL: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: A dolphin pokes its beak out of the water.
NIKHIL: There's the treasure!
DESCRIPTION: The dolphin lifts its head out of the water.
[Dolphin chirping]
DESCRIPTION: The dolphin dives back into the ocean.
[Splashing]
NIKHIL: Nuh-uh. Hm. Where is the treasure?
DESCRIPTION: Two dolphins leap out of the water. They make an X with their bodies as they cross through the air and dive back into the ocean.
[Dolphins chirping]
[Splashing]
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: X marks the spot!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks around. He spots the rock marked with an X.
NIKHIL: Huh? Ooh!
DESCRIPTION: The X sparkles. The dolphins rise from the water.
[Dolphins chirping]
[Nikhil giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil picks up the rock and uncovers a pile of colourful gems and gold coins.
NIKHIL: Wow! Yeah!
[Magical music plays]
NIKHIL IN REALITY: Actually, I need to find an X! Hmm.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks around the bedroom.
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: This should help!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil grabs a cardboard tube.
NIKHIL: Yes!
DESCRIPTION: Downstairs, Nikhil runs outside and looks through the cardboard tube.
NIKHIL: Hmm... Hmm.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks at a homemade birdhouse in a tree
NIKHIL: X? X? Where are you?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil spots Max licking her paw.
[Max meowing]
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: Pirate Max! Follow me to find the X. It's a rule!
DESCRIPTION: Max walks away from Nikhil.
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max walks over a patch of soil. Jay digs a hole in the soil with his wooden spatula.
JAY: That's it, Max! There's only one way to find treasure. Dig and jig for it! Ha-ha!
DESCRIPTION: Jay tosses a scoop of soil over his shoulder with his shovel. Mac ducks.
[Max yowling]
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max runs away. Jay continues digging. He pauses and frowns.
JAY: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Jay looks in the hole. Something sparkles.
[Jay gasping]
JAY: Amma, Amma! Captain Jiggy Jay has found the treasure!
[Jay giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Jay digs inside the hole with his hands. Amma runs over.
AMMA: Oh!
[Jay Shouting]
DESCRIPTION: Jay pulls out a worm. Nikhil walks up behind Amma.
AMMA: Uh...
[Nikhil gasping]
[Amma laughing]
AMMA: That's not my bells.
JAY: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Jay frowns and looks at the worm. Nikhil takes a closer look.
NIKHIL: Uh, ewie!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil jumps back.
NIKHIL: Maybe Pirate Worm can join your crew, Jay.
JAY: Yes! Great idea!
[Amma speaking Tamil]
AMMA: I'll have to walk the plank if I don't find my bells. I mean, treasure!
[Nikhil and Jay gasping]
[Amma imitating a pirate]
DESCRIPTION: Amma runs off.
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Appa walks up to Nikhil and Jay.
APPA: Heyo.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Huh?
APPA: What's going on here, then?
NIKHIL: We're pirate captains on a mission to find a lost treasure.
JAY: And save Amma from the planky walk.
NIKHIL: Ya-ha!
JAY: Ooh, yeah, my hearties!
APPA: Ooh, I love a pirate treasure hunt. I'll join your crew. Argh!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Yeah!
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
APPA SINGING: A-yo-ho-ho! A-yo-ho-ho!
DESCRIPTION: Appa, Nikhil and Jay dance.
APPA SINGING: An Appa cuppa and off we go!
JAY: Yay! You can be on my crew.
NIKHIL: No, join mine! I've got lots of cool rules!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Ahar!
JAY: But my crew dance all day long! Jig, jig, jig!
[Jay giggling]
NIKHIL: Join mine!

[Appa stammering]

DESCRIPTION: Appa slowly backs away.
APPA: Okay, bye!
DESCRIPTION: Appa dances toward the house.
APPA SINGING: Yo-ho-ho, and off I go.
DESCRIPTION: Appa runs back to the house. Nikhil and Jay look at each other and shrug.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh?
JAY: I don't need singing pirates anyway. Only dancing ones.
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances and bumps into Nikhil.
JAY: Oh!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil frowns and pulls out the cardboard tube. He looks around the yard through the tube.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
DESCRIPTION: Jay follows Nikhil’s gaze. Nikhil looks at the greenhouse solar panels, a bike, a flower bush, and sticks crossed to make an X.
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: An X! Could it be the treasure?
JAY: Yeah!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay run over to the stick X.
[Nikhil and Jay laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil kneels in front of the X. Jay hands him the wooden spatula.
NIKHIL: Yeah!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil digs beneath the X. Something in the ground sparkles.
NIKHIL: Ooh!
DESCRIPTION: A worm pops out of the soil.
[Nikhil yelping]
NIKHIL: Ewie!
JAY: Yeah! You've got a wriggly pirate on your crew, too!
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances.
[Nikhil sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Max looks at the worm.
[Max meowing curiously]
JAY: Come on, Max! Follow me! We can jig to find treasure.
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances away.
JAY: Whoosh!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil frowns.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil gets up and follows Jay.
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Max walks away.
[Worm laughing]
DESCRIPTION: Elsewhere in the yard, Nikhil looks under a potted plant.
NIKHIL: Ah-ha!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil finds nothing.
NIKHIL: Oh.
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances.
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks under a wooden bench.
NIKHIL: Hm...
JAY: Yeah!
NIKHIL: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances past Nikhil.
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
[Nikhil groaning]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil searches between bushes.
NIKHIL: Um…
DESCRIPTION: Jay pops up behind Nikhil.
[Nikhil yelping]
JAY: Ha-har!
[Nikhil sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances.
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Jay wanders into the garden shed.
NIKHIL: Um...
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil looks through the cardboard tube at pictures and drawings taped to a wall, including a family Halloween picture and a drawing of Amma and a rainbow. Nikhil looks at tools on a wall, including a wrench, a tape measure, and screwdrivers, and spots strips of red tape crossed like an X on a shelf full of trophies.
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: X marks the spot! I found it!
DESCRIPTION: Jay dances across the shed.
JAY: Jig, jig, jig!
[Jay gasping]
JAY: The treasure. Jig, jig, jig!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil walks toward a work table with the trophy shelf above. Jay follows. Appa steps into the shed and frowns.
APPA: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil leans against the work table and reaches toward the shelf.
APPA: Wait, don't –
DESCRIPTION: Appa reaches past Nikhil and trips. Appa’s hand catches on the shelf, and it breaks. The trophies fall onto the work table.
[Crashing]
[Jay gasping]
[Appa sighing]
APPA: – touch that.
NIKHIL: Oops, sorry.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil shrugs, and Jay shakes his head. Amma steps into the shed.
AMMA: Hi, you. What's going on? Has there been a shipwreck?
NIKHIL: I thought I'd found a treasure. Um, X marks the spot.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil holds up the strips of tape that make an X.
APPA: Oh, that X.
DESCRIPTION: Appa takes the tape X from Nikhil.
NIKHIL: Huh?
APPA: Yes, right. I've been meaning to fix those shelves properly, not just with this scrappy bit of tape.
JAY: But it wasn't the treasure, after all.
APPA: Uh, I beg your pardon? These trophies are treasure to me. There's the one I got for coming in 11th in the lemon and spoon race, then the one for –
[Nikhil sighing]
APPA: Oh.
NIKHIL: We're terrible pirates.
APPA: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Appa and Amma glance at each other.
[Nikhil sighing]
NIKHIL: We didn't find Amma's treasure.
JAY: We're the worst pirates ever, ever, ever.
[Jay sighing]
JAY: Even Max didn't want to be on our crews.
[Nikhil and Jay sighing]
[Bells jingling]
[Nikhil and Jay gasping]
APPA AND AMMA: Huh?
JAY: Oh?
NIKHIL: Hm.
JAY: Everybody, people! Did you hear that?
NIKHIL: It sounds like bells! Let's go, quick!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay run out of the shed. Amma and Appa smile and follow.
[Amma and Appa chuckling]
DESCRIPTION: In the kitchen, everyone looks around.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh...
[Bells jingling]
[Everyone gasping]
DESCRIPTION: The basket of bananas on the kitchen counter shakes.
[Bells jingling]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay slowly walk alongside the kitchen counter. Nikhil looks around. Jay looks at the basket.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
[Jay gasping]
JAY: It's coming from here!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Uh...
DESCRIPTION: Two bananas in the basket make an X. They sparkle.
[Nikhil gasping]
NIKHIL: X marks the spot!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay each grab a banana.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Huh?
DESCRIPTION: Max lies among the bananas with Amma’s bells.
[Max meowing]
JAY: Max, you found the treasure!
DESCRIPTION: Max sits up with the bells on her head.
[Max meowing]
NIKHIL: Without the help of Captain Bigboss and his rules.
JAY: Or Captain Jiggy Jay and his jigging. You're the best pirate captain ever, ever, ever, Max!
DESCRIPTION: Max leaps out of the basket into Jay’s arms.
NIKHIL: Yeah, can we join your crew?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil wraps his arms around Jay and Max in a hug.
[Max meowing happily]
DESCRIPTION: Amma and Appa put their arms around Nikhil and Jay.
AMMA LIKE A PIRATE: Room for two more?
[Everyone giggling]
[Max meowing]
DESCRIPTION: Later, the family dances across the room in a conga line behind Max, wearing the bells on her head.

[Appa vocalizing]

DESCRIPTION: Appa trips and stumbles.
APPA YELPING: Whoa!
