DESCRIPTION: In an animation, the front door of a townhouse opens, and Nikhil smiles. He has short brown hair and brown eyes and wears a red hooded sweater. Inside the house, his little brother, Jay, also has short brown hair and brown eyes. He wears a purple shirt with blue-green trim.
NIKHIL: Hi, I'm Nikhil.
JAY: And I'm Jay!
[Map rustles, boings, plane whooshes, Appa shouts, Amma laughs]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil pulls down a map showing a small boat in the water off the coast of South India. Amma’s face appears. She has chin-length brown hair with a yellow bow. A plane flies to England, and Appa’s face appears. He has short brown hair and a beard. A heart-shaped outline surrounds them. Amma dances, and Appa holds a cat-shaped mug.
[Song] Here's a little story about where our family's from. It starts in South India with Amma, our mom. She caught a plane to England and met our dad, Appa. She loves to dance, and he makes the best cuppa. Oh. And then we came along. Oh. And this is our song.

DESCRIPTION: Nikhil peers through binoculars.

DESCRIPTION: Jay bounces with his arms in the air.
JAY: Being loud!
[Chimes, coins rattle, rocket ship whooshes]
DESCRIPTION: They high-five and daydream about riding coins on a carrom board. In outer space, they peer through the window of a rocket ship.
[Song] We both love to dream. We can shoot a carrom pocket. Yeah, or blast off in a rocket. We make the greatest team.
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay fist-bump.
[Needle scratches a record, slide whistle]
NIKHIL: Wait.
JAY: What?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay hold a picture of their grandparents, Ammamma and Thatha. Ammamma has short black hair and wears a yellow shirt and a blue saree. Thatha has short white hair and wears a yellow jacket, a white shirt, and eyeglasses on a chain around his neck.
NIKHIL: There's Ammamma and Thatha.
[Jim and Nana exclaim]
DESCRIPTION: Jim and Nana stand behind Nikhil and Jay. Jim has short brown hair and holds a tray of food. He wears a green shirt and brown pants. Nana holds her lollipop traffic sign, turned red.
JAY: And Jim and Nana.
NIKHIL: And don't forget Max the cat.
[Max meows, crash, slide whistles]

JAY: Wahoo!
[Crayons clatter]
DESCRIPTION: Jay chases Max, and she jumps onto the table, knocking the crayons out of line.
NIKHIL: Ah!
[Max meows]
JAY: Nikhil! Nikhil! Ready to play?
[The music stops]
NIKHIL: Yep! As soon as I finish sorting out my crayons.
[Jay sighs, booming]
JAY: But that's going to take ages! Oh! I know!
[Playful music plays, slide whistles]
JAY: I'll play with Bongy-Zonk instead!
[Slide whistles]
NIKHIL: Bongy-Zonk? What's a Bongy-Zonk?
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
JAY: Who's Bongy-Zonk, you mean. Bongy-Zonk is so cool! He's got eyes as big as...
[Whoosh, arms wobble]
DESCRIPTION: Jay looks around the room. He walks to Nikhil and Max and waves his arms.
JAY: Uh. Beanbags! And he has four arms and can fly as fast as an...
DESCRIPTION: Jay looks around the room.
JAY: Hmm. Auto rickshaw!
[Max meows, Nikhil gasps, jumps boing]
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps excitedly.
JAY: He's the best imaginary friend ever, ever, ever! Mmm!
[Energetic music plays, Bongy-Zonk giggles]
DESCRIPTION: In a daydream, Jay swings on a cloud swing beside Bongy-Zonk. Bongy-Zonk has a round yellow body, green feet, red-and-yellow wings, and two antennae with pink hearts on the tips.
JAY: Yay! Bongy-Zonk!
[Bongy-Zonk giggles, whooshing, Bongy-Zonk exclaims, jumps boing]
DESCRIPTION: Jay and Bongy-Zonk slide down a rainbow, then hop from planet to planet in outer space.
JAY: Whee! Whee! Whoo! Whoo! Whoo!
[Chiming, Jay gasps, giggles, slide whistles, run boings]
DESCRIPTION: The daydream ends, and Jay stands with his hands clasped beside his cheek. He spreads his arms wide and runs out of the room.
JAY: Come on, Bongy-Zonk! Bye, Nikhil!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil waves.
NIKHIL: Bye, Jay!
[Slide whistle, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps back into the room with narrowed eyes and gestures behind him.
JAY: Ah-hem.
[Nikhil giggles]
NIKHIL: And Bongy-Zonk.
[Jay giggles, whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Jay leaves.
JAY: Whoo!
[The music stops, Nikhil grunts, Max meows, whoosh, Nikhil gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil picks up a pink crayon, and Max knocks a baby blue crayon off the table.
NIKHIL: Max!
[Max meows, tires screech, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Max rolls her eyes. In the living room, Amma and Appa kneel at the coffee table and play carrom as Jay enters.
APPA: Hmm.
JAY: And that's the sofa!
[Tap]
DESCRIPTION: Appa flicks the striker and misses his shot.
APPA: Ah!
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay stands beside the carrom board.
JAY: There's sometimes an old biscuit down the back. And that's the carrom game.
APPA: Eh? Who's he talking to?
[Jumps boing, coin clinks, triumphant music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Amma smiles as Jay runs across the room. In the carrom game, Amma knocks Appa’s coin into a pocket. She stands and raises her arms victoriously.
AMMA: Ah! Boom!
[Appa groans, whoosh, upbeat music plays, chiming]
DESCRIPTION: In the bedroom, Nikhil finishes arranging his crayons and stands smiling with his hands on his hips.
NIKHIL: Ah-ha! Jay! Ready!
[The music stops, Nikhil giggles, Max meows, light music plays, slide whistle, crayons clatter, Max meows]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil leaves, and Max sneaks to the table on her tiptoes. She leaps onto the table, knocks the crayons off, sits, and smiles broadly. In the living room, Amma and Appa play carrom.
APPA: Right.
AMMA: Hmm.
[Whoosh, tap, light music plays, Appa groans]
DESCRIPTION: Appa flicks the striker and Amma’s coin slides away from a pocket as Nikhil arrives.
NIKHIL: Have you seen Jay and Bongy-Zonk?
APPA: Jay and Whozy-Zonk?
NIKHIL: Bongy…
[Jay giggles distantly]
NIKHIL: Huh? Jay.
[Jay giggles, whoosh, tap, triumphant music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Amma knocks Appa’s coin into a pocket.
AMMA: Boom!
[Appa groans, Jay giggles, Nikhil giggles, Jay gasps]
DESCRIPTION: In the dining room, Jay sits at the table with two glasses of water. Nikhil runs in and sits on the chair beside Jay.
[Tense music plays]
JAY: Nikhil!
NIKHIL: Oh!
JAY: You're sitting on Bongy-Zonk!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil stands and smiles. He scratches the back of his head.
NIKHIL: Oops! Sorry. I didn't see you there.
[Nikhil gasps, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil walks around the table and stands across from Bongy-Zonk.
JAY: Bongy-Zonk has made up the best game.
[Nikhil giggles]
JAY: It's called Touch Every Wall In The House, and we have to...
[Light music plays]
NIKHIL: Touch every wall in the house?
[The music stops]
JAY: Yes! You've got it! Let's play!
[Jumps boing]
DESCRIPTION: Jay and Nikhil run in different directions.
NIKHIL: Yeah!
[Ding, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay touches the wall by a patio door.
JAY: Touch!
[Ding]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil touches the wall by the living room doorway.
NIKHIL: Touch!
[The music stops, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Jay stands beside Nikhil and gestures at the wall.
JAY: Too late! Bongy-Zonk has already touched that wall.
[Descending music plays, Nikhil sighs]
DESCRIPTION: In the living room, Appa lines up a shot on the carrom board.
APPA: Okay.
[Appa exclaims, cheerful music plays, dinging]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay enter, touching the walls. Appa takes his finger off the striker, and he and Amma watch.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Touch! Touch! Touch! Touch! Touch! Touch!
NIKHIL: Tou—
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil reaches for a wall with his left hand, and Jay grabs the bottom of his hooded sweater.
JAY: No, Nikhil! You have to use your other hand.
NIKHIL: Huh? Why?
JAY: Bongy-Zonk just changed the rules.
[Jay giggles]
DESCRIPTION: Amma and Appa stand beside Jay.
AMMA: Oh, who's your new friend, Jay?
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay gestures to the empty space between him and Nikhil.
JAY: Amma and Appa, this is Bongy-Zonk. Bongy-Zonk, this is Amma and Appa.
[Amma chuckles]
APPA: Hmm.
[Appa chuckles]
DESCRIPTION: Appa smiles and waves.
JAY: This one cries a lot.
[Appa sniffles]
DESCRIPTION: Appa stops smiling, and his eyes fill with tears.
JAY: And this one always wins at carrom.
[Amma chuckles, arm wobbles]
DESCRIPTION: Amma smiles and holds up two fingers in a victory sign. Appa reaches out and pretends to shake Bongy-Zonk’s hand.
APPA: Pleasure to meet you. Oh, firm handshake.
[Boys giggle, slide whistles]
JAY: That's because he has four hands. Come on! Lots of walls to touch.
[The music stops, Jay giggles]
NIKHIL: Yeah!
[Upbeat music plays, dinging]
DESCRIPTION: In their bedroom, Nikhil and Jay touch walls and smile.
JAY: Touch!
NIKHIL: Touch!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Touch! Touch!
[Squeak]
NIKHIL: Tou…!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil reaches for a wall, and Jay blocks him.
JAY: Nikhil! You're in Bongy-Zonk's way!
[Nikhil sighs]
NIKHIL: Can we play another game? Hmm. What can we play with Bongy-Zonk?
[Mellow music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In a daydream, Nikhil bounces an orange ball on his feet.
NIKHIL: Jay! Catch!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil throws the ball at Jay, then catches a mango.
NIKHIL: Eh?
JAY: We're playing mango ball now. Bongy-Zonk changed the rules.
NIKHIL: Okay. Uh?
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil throws the mango, then catches a banana.
JAY: Rule change!
[Nikhil sighs, boing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil walks away, looking sad, and bumps into a large blue crayon wearing yellow eyeglasses.
NIKHIL: Oh! Huh?
[Crayon speaks gibberish, tap]
DESCRIPTION: The crayon bounces a blue ball to Nikhil.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
[Ball thumps, crayon speaks gibberish]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil kicks the ball to the crayon, who knocks it back.
NIKHIL: Yes!
[Chiming, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The daydream ends, and Nikhil turns to Jay.
NIKHIL: Actually, I'm not gonna play with you and Bongy-Zonk anymore.
[Jay exclaims]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil puts his blue crayon in the rainbow colour line on the table.
NIKHIL: I'm gonna play with Scribbly-Wibbly instead!
JAY: Who's Scribbly-Wibbly?
NIKHIL: My imaginary friend, of course. Come on, Scribbly-Wibbly.
[Skips tap]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil nudges the air beside him, then skips out of the room. Jay follows him, smiling and skipping. In the bedroom, Max pokes her head up from behind a backpack and looks at the crayons on the table.
NIKHIL: Skippity, skippity, skippity-doo.
[Max meows, light music plays, crayons clatter]
DESCRIPTION: Max jumps onto the table and scatters the crayons. She knocks one off the table. In the living room, Nikhil gestures to his right as he stands beside the carrom table.
[Upbeat music plays]
AMMA: Super to meet you, Scribbly-Wibbly. We're going to need more imaginary beds at this rate.
[Amma chuckles]
APPA: Oh, hello! We've got a hugger in the house. Oh, yeah. Bring it in.
[Squeak, skips boing]
DESCRIPTION: Appa pretends to hug Scribbly-Wibbly as Jay arrives.
JAY: I want to meet Scribbly-Wibbly, too!
[Drum roll, important music plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil picks up a ball and throws it.
NIKHIL: Jay, meet Scribbly-Wibbly! And his amazing ball skills! Catch!
[Crashing]
DESCRIPTION: The ball bounces off a wall and flies over Appa and Amma’s heads.
APPA: Oh!
AMMA: Whoa! Watch out.
[Light music plays]
NIKHIL: Uh, it was Scribbly-Wibbly's fault. He was too busy doing a triple backflip.
[Upbeat music plays]
JAY: A triple backflip? WowWee! Hmm.
[Jay gasps]
JAY: But can he fly like Bongy-Zonk?
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Jay runs around the table, then twirls.
JAY: Look at him go! Whoo! Whoo! Yeah!
APPA: Right.
[Jay giggles, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Jay runs past Appa’s arm, knocking his elbow as he hits the striker.
APPA: Uh!
[Slide whistle, coin thumps, Appa groans, descending music notes play, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Jay twirls.
JAY: Whoops. It was Bongy-Zonk's fault. He was doing the triple loopy-loopy.
NIKHIL: Scribbly-Wibbly can do a triple loop-de-loopy with his eyes closed.
[Whoosh, tense music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil crosses his arms, and Jay puts his hands on his hips.
JAY: Well, Bongy-Zonk can do a backflip with a potato on his head.
NIKHIL: But Scribbly-Wibbly is the best!
JAY: No, Bongy-Zonk is!
[Western showdown music plays, Nikhil and Jay growl, footsteps tap]
DESCRIPTION: Jay and Nikhil glare at each other, and Amma walks over and stands between them.
[The music stops]
AMMA: Hmm. Why don't you go and work out who has the best imaginary friend in the garden?
[Footsteps tap, boys gasp, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Appa pretends to take an item from behind his back, and a dotted line forms a trophy in his hands.
APPA: Yeah, and the winner can win this. My Best Imaginary Trophy.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Yeah! Brilliant idea!
JAY: Bongy-Zonk! Bongy-Zonk!
NIKHIL: Scribbly! Scribbly!
DESCRIPTION: Amm and Appa watch the boys run out of the room. In the garden, Nikhil walks behind Jay, then runs in front of him and blocks his path.
[The music stops]
JAY: Bongy-Zonk! Bongy-Zonk!
NIKHIL: Scribbly! Scribbly! Jay! Watch out! Behind you!
[Boings, tense music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay startles and falls to the ground.
JAY: Ah! What?
[Upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL: It was Scribbly-Wibbly. He's the best at jumping up on people.
[Nikhil gasps, Jay exclaims]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil’s eyes widen, and he points behind Jay.
NIKHIL: He's behind you again!
[Slide whistle, dramatic music notes play]
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps and rolls across the grass.
JAY: Wah!
NIKHIL: I guess Scribbly-Wibbly is the best imaginary friend.
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps to his feet.
JAY: Wait!
[Jay gasps, giggles, upbeat music plays, boings]
DESCRIPTION: Jay runs away from Nikhil, then returns with a broad smile. He grabs Nikhil’s arm and yanks him across the grass.
NIKHIL: Whoa!
DESCRIPTION: Jay pushes Nikhil towards a patio chair with a cushion on the seat.
JAY: Let's sit down and think about it.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
[Duck quacks]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil sits on the cushion, then jumps off. A yellow rubber duck slides out from beneath the cushion and falls on the grass.
NIKHIL: Wah!
[Jay laughs, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil arches his right eyebrow and puts his left hand on his hip.
JAY: It was Bongy-Zonk! He does the best pranks. So, he's the best imaginary friend!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil crosses his arms and narrows his eyes.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
JAY: Yes! Bongy-Zonk wins!
[Tense music plays]
NIKHIL: That's not fair! Scribbly-Wibbly is the best at jumping. But Bongy-Zonk is the best at pranks.
NIKHIL: Hmm. We need another way to decide.
[Jay gasps, boings, Nikhil giggles]
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps excitedly.
JAY: I know! It can be whoever comes up with the best game. Bongy-Zonk has just made up a new one. Touch Every Plant In The Garden!
[Jay giggles, dinging]
DESCRIPTION: Jay touches plants and flowers.
JAY: Touch! Touch! Touch!
NIKHIL: But Scribbly-Wibbly has made up an even better game. Mushrooms on Mars!
[Jumps boing, Jay gasps, whoosh, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil jumps across the patio. He stops, takes a ball out of his pocket, throws it, then catches it.
NIKHIL: You jump from imaginary mushroom to imaginary mushroom. But watch out! The balls are flying aliens.
[Chiming music notes play, the music stops, boing]
JAY: Wow! That is a good game. I wish I made it up. Uh. I mean, I wish Bongy-Zonk had.
[Upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL: Actually, Jay. I made it up.
JAY: Really?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil nods.
JAY: I love it! Nikhil, it was me who put the duck on your chair.
[Nikhil gasps, duck quacks, slide whistle]
NIKHIL: Brilliant pranking, Jay.
JAY: Let's play our games together! But maybe not with Bongy-Zonk. He'll keep changing the rules.
[Nikhil giggles]
NIKHIL: I'll tell Scribbly-Wibbly not to join in, too.
[Hands slap]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay high-five.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Yeah!
[Whoosh, tense music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In the living room, Appa stares intensely at the striker on the carrom board.
APPA: Feel the carrom. Be the carrom. Win the carrom!
NIKHIL SHOUTS, DISTANTLY: Touch the plant!
JAY SHOUTS, DISTANTLY: Mind the alien!
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Appa and Amma walk to the garden where Jay and Nikhil stand facing each other.
JAY: Yay!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil throws the ball past Jay.
NIKHIL: Whoosh! Mind the alien!
JAY: Yes!
[Boing, parents giggle]
DESCRIPTION: The ball bounces back and Nikhil ducks beneath it.
NIKHIL: Ah!
[Parents chuckle, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: The ball bounces, and Jay catches it.
AMMA: Have you decided who has the best imaginary friend yet, chellams?
NIKHIL: Nope. We actually told them to go away. We needed a break.
[Jay laughs]
JAY: They were great imaginary friends, but not as great as Nikhil.
NIKHIL: Or Jay. And we made up the best plant, mushroom, and alien game.
[Appa sniffles, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Appa’s eyes fill with unshed tears.
AMMA: Aw.
[Amma chuckles]
APPA: Oh, wow, boys. You both deserve this.
[Nikhil gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Appa holds the imaginary trophy.
APPA: The Imaginary Trophy!
[Chiming]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay hold the imaginary trophy, and a dotted line outlines it.
NIKHIL: Yeah!
[Everyone laughs, whoosh, suspenseful music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In the living room, Nikhil and Jay sit on the couch and watch Amma and Appa kneel by the carrom board. Max sits between the boys and plays with the ball.
[The music stops]
APPA: Right! I'm gonna do it this time! I can feel it.
[Amma and the boys giggle, slide whistle, thud, carrom coins clatter]
DESCRIPTION: The ball hits the carrom board, and it falls on the floor.
APPA: Ah! What?

JAY: Whoops! Uh, it wasn't us. It was—

[Crayons clatter]
DESCRIPTION: Jay chases Max, and she jumps onto the table, knocking the crayons out of line.
NIKHIL: Ah!
[Max meows]
JAY: Nikhil! Nikhil! Ready to play?
[The music stops]
NIKHIL: Yep! As soon as I finish sorting out my crayons.
[Jay sighs, booming]
JAY: But that's going to take ages! Oh! I know!
[Playful music plays, slide whistles]
JAY: I'll play with Bongy-Zonk instead!
[Slide whistles]
NIKHIL: Bongy-Zonk? What's a Bongy-Zonk?
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
JAY: Who's Bongy-Zonk, you mean. Bongy-Zonk is so cool! He's got eyes as big as...
[Whoosh, arms wobble]
DESCRIPTION: Jay looks around the room. He walks to Nikhil and Max and waves his arms.
JAY: Uh. Beanbags! And he has four arms and can fly as fast as an...
DESCRIPTION: Jay looks around the room.
JAY: Hmm. Auto rickshaw!
[Max meows, Nikhil gasps, jumps boing]
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps excitedly.
JAY: He's the best imaginary friend ever, ever, ever! Mmm!
[Energetic music plays, Bongy-Zonk giggles]
DESCRIPTION: In a daydream, Jay swings on a cloud swing beside Bongy-Zonk. Bongy-Zonk has a round yellow body, green feet, red-and-yellow wings, and two antennae with pink hearts on the tips.
JAY: Yay! Bongy-Zonk!
[Bongy-Zonk giggles, whooshing, Bongy-Zonk exclaims, jumps boing]
DESCRIPTION: Jay and Bongy-Zonk slide down a rainbow, then hop from planet to planet in outer space.
JAY: Whee! Whee! Whoo! Whoo! Whoo!
[Chiming, Jay gasps, giggles, slide whistles, run boings]
DESCRIPTION: The daydream ends, and Jay stands with his hands clasped beside his cheek. He spreads his arms wide and runs out of the room.
JAY: Come on, Bongy-Zonk! Bye, Nikhil!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil waves.
NIKHIL: Bye, Jay!
[Slide whistle, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps back into the room with narrowed eyes and gestures behind him.
JAY: Ah-hem.
[Nikhil giggles]
NIKHIL: And Bongy-Zonk.
[Jay giggles, whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Jay leaves.
JAY: Whoo!
[The music stops, Nikhil grunts, Max meows, whoosh, Nikhil gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil picks up a pink crayon, and Max knocks a baby blue crayon off the table.
NIKHIL: Max!
[Max meows, tires screech, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Max rolls her eyes. In the living room, Amma and Appa kneel at the coffee table and play carrom as Jay enters.
APPA: Hmm.
JAY: And that's the sofa!
[Tap]
DESCRIPTION: Appa flicks the striker and misses his shot.
APPA: Ah!
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay stands beside the carrom board.
JAY: There's sometimes an old biscuit down the back. And that's the carrom game.
APPA: Eh? Who's he talking to?
[Jumps boing, coin clinks, triumphant music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Amma smiles as Jay runs across the room. In the carrom game, Amma knocks Appa’s coin into a pocket. She stands and raises her arms victoriously.
AMMA: Ah! Boom!
[Appa groans, whoosh, upbeat music plays, chiming]
DESCRIPTION: In the bedroom, Nikhil finishes arranging his crayons and stands smiling with his hands on his hips.
NIKHIL: Ah-ha! Jay! Ready!
[The music stops, Nikhil giggles, Max meows, light music plays, slide whistle, crayons clatter, Max meows]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil leaves, and Max sneaks to the table on her tiptoes. She leaps onto the table, knocks the crayons off, sits, and smiles broadly. In the living room, Amma and Appa play carrom.
APPA: Right.
AMMA: Hmm.
[Whoosh, tap, light music plays, Appa groans]
DESCRIPTION: Appa flicks the striker and Amma’s coin slides away from a pocket as Nikhil arrives.
NIKHIL: Have you seen Jay and Bongy-Zonk?
APPA: Jay and Whozy-Zonk?
NIKHIL: Bongy…
[Jay giggles distantly]
NIKHIL: Huh? Jay.
[Jay giggles, whoosh, tap, triumphant music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Amma knocks Appa’s coin into a pocket.
AMMA: Boom!
[Appa groans, Jay giggles, Nikhil giggles, Jay gasps]
DESCRIPTION: In the dining room, Jay sits at the table with two glasses of water. Nikhil runs in and sits on the chair beside Jay.
[Tense music plays]
JAY: Nikhil!
NIKHIL: Oh!
JAY: You're sitting on Bongy-Zonk!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil stands and smiles. He scratches the back of his head.
NIKHIL: Oops! Sorry. I didn't see you there.
[Nikhil gasps, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil walks around the table and stands across from Bongy-Zonk.
JAY: Bongy-Zonk has made up the best game.
[Nikhil giggles]
JAY: It's called Touch Every Wall In The House, and we have to...
[Light music plays]
NIKHIL: Touch every wall in the house?
[The music stops]
JAY: Yes! You've got it! Let's play!
[Jumps boing]
DESCRIPTION: Jay and Nikhil run in different directions.
NIKHIL: Yeah!
[Ding, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay touches the wall by a patio door.
JAY: Touch!
[Ding]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil touches the wall by the living room doorway.
NIKHIL: Touch!
[The music stops, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Jay stands beside Nikhil and gestures at the wall.
JAY: Too late! Bongy-Zonk has already touched that wall.
[Descending music plays, Nikhil sighs]
DESCRIPTION: In the living room, Appa lines up a shot on the carrom board.
APPA: Okay.
[Appa exclaims, cheerful music plays, dinging]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay enter, touching the walls. Appa takes his finger off the striker, and he and Amma watch.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Touch! Touch! Touch! Touch! Touch! Touch!
NIKHIL: Tou—
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil reaches for a wall with his left hand, and Jay grabs the bottom of his hooded sweater.
JAY: No, Nikhil! You have to use your other hand.
NIKHIL: Huh? Why?
JAY: Bongy-Zonk just changed the rules.
[Jay giggles]
DESCRIPTION: Amma and Appa stand beside Jay.
AMMA: Oh, who's your new friend, Jay?
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay gestures to the empty space between him and Nikhil.
JAY: Amma and Appa, this is Bongy-Zonk. Bongy-Zonk, this is Amma and Appa.
[Amma chuckles]
APPA: Hmm.
[Appa chuckles]
DESCRIPTION: Appa smiles and waves.
JAY: This one cries a lot.
[Appa sniffles]
DESCRIPTION: Appa stops smiling, and his eyes fill with tears.
JAY: And this one always wins at carrom.
[Amma chuckles, arm wobbles]
DESCRIPTION: Amma smiles and holds up two fingers in a victory sign. Appa reaches out and pretends to shake Bongy-Zonk’s hand.
APPA: Pleasure to meet you. Oh, firm handshake.
[Boys giggle, slide whistles]
JAY: That's because he has four hands. Come on! Lots of walls to touch.
[The music stops, Jay giggles]
NIKHIL: Yeah!
[Upbeat music plays, dinging]
DESCRIPTION: In their bedroom, Nikhil and Jay touch walls and smile.
JAY: Touch!
NIKHIL: Touch!
NIKHIL AND JAY: Touch! Touch!
[Squeak]
NIKHIL: Tou…!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil reaches for a wall, and Jay blocks him.
JAY: Nikhil! You're in Bongy-Zonk's way!
[Nikhil sighs]
NIKHIL: Can we play another game? Hmm. What can we play with Bongy-Zonk?
[Mellow music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In a daydream, Nikhil bounces an orange ball on his feet.
NIKHIL: Jay! Catch!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil throws the ball at Jay, then catches a mango.
NIKHIL: Eh?
JAY: We're playing mango ball now. Bongy-Zonk changed the rules.
NIKHIL: Okay. Uh?
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil throws the mango, then catches a banana.
JAY: Rule change!
[Nikhil sighs, boing]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil walks away, looking sad, and bumps into a large blue crayon wearing yellow eyeglasses.
NIKHIL: Oh! Huh?
[Crayon speaks gibberish, tap]
DESCRIPTION: The crayon bounces a blue ball to Nikhil.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
[Ball thumps, crayon speaks gibberish]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil kicks the ball to the crayon, who knocks it back.
NIKHIL: Yes!
[Chiming, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The daydream ends, and Nikhil turns to Jay.
NIKHIL: Actually, I'm not gonna play with you and Bongy-Zonk anymore.
[Jay exclaims]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil puts his blue crayon in the rainbow colour line on the table.
NIKHIL: I'm gonna play with Scribbly-Wibbly instead!
JAY: Who's Scribbly-Wibbly?
NIKHIL: My imaginary friend, of course. Come on, Scribbly-Wibbly.
[Skips tap]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil nudges the air beside him, then skips out of the room. Jay follows him, smiling and skipping. In the bedroom, Max pokes her head up from behind a backpack and looks at the crayons on the table.
NIKHIL: Skippity, skippity, skippity-doo.
[Max meows, light music plays, crayons clatter]
DESCRIPTION: Max jumps onto the table and scatters the crayons. She knocks one off the table. In the living room, Nikhil gestures to his right as he stands beside the carrom table.
[Upbeat music plays]
AMMA: Super to meet you, Scribbly-Wibbly. We're going to need more imaginary beds at this rate.
[Amma chuckles]
APPA: Oh, hello! We've got a hugger in the house. Oh, yeah. Bring it in.
[Squeak, skips boing]
DESCRIPTION: Appa pretends to hug Scribbly-Wibbly as Jay arrives.
JAY: I want to meet Scribbly-Wibbly, too!
[Drum roll, important music plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil picks up a ball and throws it.
NIKHIL: Jay, meet Scribbly-Wibbly! And his amazing ball skills! Catch!
[Crashing]
DESCRIPTION: The ball bounces off a wall and flies over Appa and Amma’s heads.
APPA: Oh!
AMMA: Whoa! Watch out.
[Light music plays]
NIKHIL: Uh, it was Scribbly-Wibbly's fault. He was too busy doing a triple backflip.
[Upbeat music plays]
JAY: A triple backflip? WowWee! Hmm.
[Jay gasps]
JAY: But can he fly like Bongy-Zonk?
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Jay runs around the table, then twirls.
JAY: Look at him go! Whoo! Whoo! Yeah!
APPA: Right.
[Jay giggles, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Jay runs past Appa’s arm, knocking his elbow as he hits the striker.
APPA: Uh!
[Slide whistle, coin thumps, Appa groans, descending music notes play, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Jay twirls.
JAY: Whoops. It was Bongy-Zonk's fault. He was doing the triple loopy-loopy.
NIKHIL: Scribbly-Wibbly can do a triple loop-de-loopy with his eyes closed.
[Whoosh, tense music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil crosses his arms, and Jay puts his hands on his hips.
JAY: Well, Bongy-Zonk can do a backflip with a potato on his head.
NIKHIL: But Scribbly-Wibbly is the best!
JAY: No, Bongy-Zonk is!
[Western showdown music plays, Nikhil and Jay growl, footsteps tap]
DESCRIPTION: Jay and Nikhil glare at each other, and Amma walks over and stands between them.
[The music stops]
AMMA: Hmm. Why don't you go and work out who has the best imaginary friend in the garden?
[Footsteps tap, boys gasp, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Appa pretends to take an item from behind his back, and a dotted line forms a trophy in his hands.
APPA: Yeah, and the winner can win this. My Best Imaginary Trophy.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Yeah! Brilliant idea!
JAY: Bongy-Zonk! Bongy-Zonk!
NIKHIL: Scribbly! Scribbly!
DESCRIPTION: Amm and Appa watch the boys run out of the room. In the garden, Nikhil walks behind Jay, then runs in front of him and blocks his path.
[The music stops]
JAY: Bongy-Zonk! Bongy-Zonk!
NIKHIL: Scribbly! Scribbly! Jay! Watch out! Behind you!
[Boings, tense music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Jay startles and falls to the ground.
JAY: Ah! What?
[Upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL: It was Scribbly-Wibbly. He's the best at jumping up on people.
[Nikhil gasps, Jay exclaims]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil’s eyes widen, and he points behind Jay.
NIKHIL: He's behind you again!
[Slide whistle, dramatic music notes play]
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps and rolls across the grass.
JAY: Wah!
NIKHIL: I guess Scribbly-Wibbly is the best imaginary friend.
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps to his feet.
JAY: Wait!
[Jay gasps, giggles, upbeat music plays, boings]
DESCRIPTION: Jay runs away from Nikhil, then returns with a broad smile. He grabs Nikhil’s arm and yanks him across the grass.
NIKHIL: Whoa!
DESCRIPTION: Jay pushes Nikhil towards a patio chair with a cushion on the seat.
JAY: Let's sit down and think about it.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
[Duck quacks]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil sits on the cushion, then jumps off. A yellow rubber duck slides out from beneath the cushion and falls on the grass.
NIKHIL: Wah!
[Jay laughs, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil arches his right eyebrow and puts his left hand on his hip.
JAY: It was Bongy-Zonk! He does the best pranks. So, he's the best imaginary friend!
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil crosses his arms and narrows his eyes.
NIKHIL: Hmm.
JAY: Yes! Bongy-Zonk wins!
[Tense music plays]
NIKHIL: That's not fair! Scribbly-Wibbly is the best at jumping. But Bongy-Zonk is the best at pranks.
NIKHIL: Hmm. We need another way to decide.
[Jay gasps, boings, Nikhil giggles]
DESCRIPTION: Jay jumps excitedly.
JAY: I know! It can be whoever comes up with the best game. Bongy-Zonk has just made up a new one. Touch Every Plant In The Garden!
[Jay giggles, dinging]
DESCRIPTION: Jay touches plants and flowers.
JAY: Touch! Touch! Touch!
NIKHIL: But Scribbly-Wibbly has made up an even better game. Mushrooms on Mars!
[Jumps boing, Jay gasps, whoosh, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil jumps across the patio. He stops, takes a ball out of his pocket, throws it, then catches it.
NIKHIL: You jump from imaginary mushroom to imaginary mushroom. But watch out! The balls are flying aliens.
[Chiming music notes play, the music stops, boing]
JAY: Wow! That is a good game. I wish I made it up. Uh. I mean, I wish Bongy-Zonk had.
[Upbeat music plays]
NIKHIL: Actually, Jay. I made it up.
JAY: Really?
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil nods.
JAY: I love it! Nikhil, it was me who put the duck on your chair.
[Nikhil gasps, duck quacks, slide whistle]
NIKHIL: Brilliant pranking, Jay.
JAY: Let's play our games together! But maybe not with Bongy-Zonk. He'll keep changing the rules.
[Nikhil giggles]
NIKHIL: I'll tell Scribbly-Wibbly not to join in, too.
[Hands slap]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay high-five.
NIKHIL AND JAY: Yeah!
[Whoosh, tense music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In the living room, Appa stares intensely at the striker on the carrom board.
APPA: Feel the carrom. Be the carrom. Win the carrom!
NIKHIL SHOUTS, DISTANTLY: Touch the plant!
JAY SHOUTS, DISTANTLY: Mind the alien!
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Appa and Amma walk to the garden where Jay and Nikhil stand facing each other.
JAY: Yay!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil throws the ball past Jay.
NIKHIL: Whoosh! Mind the alien!
JAY: Yes!
[Boing, parents giggle]
DESCRIPTION: The ball bounces back and Nikhil ducks beneath it.
NIKHIL: Ah!
[Parents chuckle, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: The ball bounces, and Jay catches it.
AMMA: Have you decided who has the best imaginary friend yet, chellams?
NIKHIL: Nope. We actually told them to go away. We needed a break.
[Jay laughs]
JAY: They were great imaginary friends, but not as great as Nikhil.
NIKHIL: Or Jay. And we made up the best plant, mushroom, and alien game.
[Appa sniffles, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Appa’s eyes fill with unshed tears.
AMMA: Aw.
[Amma chuckles]
APPA: Oh, wow, boys. You both deserve this.
[Nikhil gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Appa holds the imaginary trophy.
APPA: The Imaginary Trophy!
[Chiming]
DESCRIPTION: Nikhil and Jay hold the imaginary trophy, and a dotted line outlines it.
NIKHIL: Yeah!
[Everyone laughs, whoosh, suspenseful music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In the living room, Nikhil and Jay sit on the couch and watch Amma and Appa kneel by the carrom board. Max sits between the boys and plays with the ball.
[The music stops]
APPA: Right! I'm gonna do it this time! I can feel it.
[Amma and the boys giggle, slide whistle, thud, carrom coins clatter]
DESCRIPTION: The ball hits the carrom board, and it falls on the floor.
APPA: Ah! What?
[Max grumbles]
JAY: Whoops! Uh, it wasn't us. It was—
[Max grumbles, light music plays]
NIKHIL: Max's imaginary friend Splashy-McCatty.
[The music stops, Max meows, everyone laughs]
[Mellow music plays]
